Patchy service and mediocre food. Also recently discovered that the owner is very anti cycling, hardly my kind of place.

Wow, this place really comes into its own as soon as the sun comes out! They throw the front windows open, and it’s just got such a great atmosphere. You’re sitting inside, but it feels as though you’re outside. Worth coming here on a sunny day for a brunch!

I want to say that this place is 5 star, although it falls slightly short. It has all the makings of somewhere I could spend a lot of time, although they don’t quite get it right. The food is good although not as good as I hoped and I found the staff a little frosty. Although, the coffee is very good and I love that they have papers for you to read and large front windows that you can watch the world pass by through. There is a certain character to the place that draws you back.

This is a very popular coffee shop, possibly the best in Cotham if you talk to a lot of self employed folk in the area. It is run by a lovely friendly über helpful guy who will always spare you the time for a little chat. There really isn’t enough of that in the world these days. The coffee is grand. Wakes you up, makes you go hhmmmmm and smells delicious. The food is pretty good too. They do a good breakfast deal — cooked brekkie and a coffee for less than a fiver. In some cafes you can almost double your chance of a heart attack due to the amount of fat on the cooked breakfasts. Not this one, this is just right. Havana also benefits from being right in the middle of the busy Cotham Hill, sit by the window and you really can watch the world go by. What more do you want from a café?

Havana coffee is simply the best place in Clifton Village to have breakfast. Boasting 15 different options, it can get a little overwhelming, but at least it ensures that something for everyone.(And as a hard to please vegetarian, this goes down exceptionally well with me!) Their coffees and teas are all fairly traded with, as expected, several varieties to choose from. The atmosphere is just like a coffee should be — mellow yet friendly.

Havana Coffee has staying power on Cotham Hill, and have seen many a shop come and go across the road. It’s the most perfect place in the summer, when on a hot day they can open the folding windows at the front and you can enjoy a coffee in the open window. There’s been a few times on a slightly worse for wear morning that I’ve been on a mission to find all day breakfasts in Bristol and one time my search brought me here, and it was a good find — for just less than a fiver they do really good full English. But if you can’t face that much, they’ve got another 15 options on the menu so you’re bound to find something to your taste, and other interesting options that run through the day, such as enchiladas and burgers. It’s got a really nice relaxed atmosphere, which probably has something to do with the chilled out music that they always seem to be playing when I come in. Free wifi and free newspapers, and you really can’t go far wrong with a coffee shop in Cotham.

This Cotham Hill Coffee place has had a little more thought put into it than the usual coffee place. These guys are big on breakfast and will proudly tell you that they have 15 varieties of breakfast. It’s definitely not a greasy spoon, but a friend breakfast is definitely the thing to get here. They’re served all day, so a good post night out hang over place as well. A fiver buys you two sausages, two pieces of bacon, two hashbrowns, egg, tomato, and beans on toast. I’d call that a decent deal and if you don’t want that much they’ve got plenty of smaller breakfast. Though breakfast is what I’d come here for, the rest of the menu isn’t too bad either with the basics done well(burgers, jacket potatoes, etc). I’ve just realised that I’ve spent two paragraphs talking about the food. As for the rest: the coffees fair trade, the people are chilled, and the place is comfy. So a decent drink and a nice surroundings in which to enjoy that breakfast.
