Went for a family meal on Thursday and it was unusually quiet with just one other couple eating. We all ordered different curries and several of us had dishes off the Chefs Speciality Menu. Good accompaniments and beer on tap. I had the Garlic Tikka Bhuna Lamb but the meat was a bit dry and it lacked real flavour. My boyfriend had the Chicken Tikka Sag but it was plain too. Friendly staff if not a little distracted with a constant stream of their friends coming in and out. They did bring out about 20 chocolates and shots of Baileys for everyone with the bill which was a nice touch! Can’t help thinking I would have enjoyed the food if I was a few more beers down! My quest for the ultimate Bristol curry house continues…(insert Apprentice music).

Whilst the curry here is good, the staff can be very rude. I’d used it a few times, but stopped after being given a chicken curry rather than a lamb one for my takeaway order. Mistakes don’t worry me, they can happen, but when I contacted them to try and change it the response was unapologetic and I was told they’d need 90 minutes to be able to replace it! Even if it had been a busy night(it was midweek) I’d expect this to be made a priority. I’ve found Achmed’s nearby to be polite, have wonderful curry(their fish dishes and onion bahji’s in particular are amazing!) and cost less.

This is a fab place to go with a group of friends, curry here is top notch, I love paratha and they do amazing tasty ones. Great service, reasonable prices. As good as it gets.

A wonderful treat, the best curry I have had in this city and likely the best I’ve had in this country or the US. The service is terrific, the prices are very reasonable, the portions are generous, and the food is fresh tasting, all natural, unique and absolutely delicious… plus the end of the meal comes with the special treat of a nice chocolate and a shot of irish cream as a digestif, on the house. just make reservations, we’ve been shut down on many a tuesday and wednesday night!

As you might know from my other Indian restaurant reviews I am a massive fan of Indian food, so much so that it’s pretty much always my number one choice if I get to choose where to go out for a meal! I have definitely been to my fair share of Indians and Redland Tandoori is somewhere I have been now on several occasions — and they have never disappointed, if anything they seem to get better with every visit! From the outside it doesn’t look like much and they could probably do with a bit of a revamp, but everything else is excellent — service is brilliant and you get looked after from the moment you walk in, and their food is delicious, not like some Indians where you genuinely wonder what on earth you’re eating… in terms of pricing it’s also great value, with curries for around a fiver, naan or rice for a couple of pounds, and a drink — an eat in meal for one will only set you back about ten pounds — brilliant! Takeaways are even cheaper as they offer a 10% discount, but I would personally recommend eating in because the ambience is lovely and you won’t be disappointed with this as an evenings entertainment. Definitely one of my favourite Indian restaurants in the area, I would recommend Redland Tandoori to any curry lovers or anyone in the area wanting somewhere new to try out. It would be the perfect place for a meal with friends, family or even on a date, and I can’t fault them.

This has become THE place for my friends and i to go any time we fancy going out for a curry. The service is exquisite, the place itself is immaculate, and the food is divine. The dishes are all cooked fresh and are more than enough to fill the most un-fillable of stomachs. The prices are really reasonable, you can expect two dishes, rice and naan bread for a tenner. Redland Tandoori caters for small and large parties, so is a great place to go on a date or as a large group of friends.

Redland Tandoori serves up a predictable set of anglicised currys, so why is the place always full? Perhaps it is the incredibly polite and friendly staff or perhaps it is the reasonably priced food? The best reason that I can think of to explain its popularity is a mundane one. It is safe, always reliable. In a year of ordering takeaways from here not once have the often obsessively pedantic details of our order(e.g. one korma without coconut milk, a chicken tikka masala with no spice at all) been anything other than one-hundred percent heeded to. The chicken is dry and tasteless, and the lamb is of an even lesser quality, but who cares when it is so dependable?

Really really good food and the service is top notch! All the dishes are cooked freshly and there are no colourings used which is reflected in the quality of the food. The prices are really very good considering how nice the food is. Lovely atmosphere too. I would definitely recommend going here for any occasion. The staff cater well for large groups so there wouldn’t be a problem if there was a lot of you. I took off a star because of the long wait we had.

In a town like Bristol, with so much competition, it’s hard to get an Indian Restaurant right. Redland Tandoori are making a pretty good effort though. I went here on an evening out a few months back, and had a really enjoyable meal. Although the service wasn’t particularly quick, they warn you on the menu that each dish is specially prepared so may take a little longer to cook than you may be used. I didn’t mind this at all, and it helps you know that you’re dinner hasn’t just been shoved in a microwave. I had a chicken korma; although a boring choice(I need to branch out) it was really nice and creamy, and they gave a good helping of rice. The restaurant itself has a nice ambience. They give a 10% discount on takeaways, and on Sunday they have an ‘eat as much as you like’ buffet for only(£9.95) — I haven’t tried this but at that price it may well be worth a go.
