I absolutely adore this place! Not only is the coffee so wonderful, the design is fab, the staff are friendly and… they have a 10% off your coffee check-in offer on Yep! :) magic! I have walked past this place many a time, wanting to go in, so now that I have finally tried it I am so pleased! The style of this coffee house is minial but modern and it works really well in my opinion. There are wooden tables and chairs, with lovely little lavender pots on them, and there are also plug points handily available at each spot, with free wifi(though I did not test this, so cannot vouch for it’s strength/reliability!). The coffee I had was delicious — strong and real — and came to under £2 with my 10% off! My friend had one of the cinnamon swirls and let me try some and it was so tasty! Probably one of the best ones I’ve ever tasted(it puts some of them to absolute shame). You can sit inside or out, though there are only two small tables outside, and there’s just a generally lovely atmosphere about this place. I am genuinely quite excited to go back. Next time I will bring my laptop and test it out as a working café! :D

At first I was having difficulty separating my impressions of their coffee and nibbles from my impressions of their interior decorating skills — it’s just so beautiful, trendy, and well, chalk full of Nordic design in there! Every time I would walk in I would just feel a wave of jealousy wash over me: «Why doesn’t my house look like this? I need to make my house look like this.» But then, after they started putting that signboard outside on the sidewalk with new bad jokes every day, it cut through the cool design aura shield and now I can review it sensibly. As far as I know, this is the only place to get a proper Nordic cinnamon roll(the kind that includes cardamom as opposed to the Cinnabun variety) and it’s cheaper in combination with a tea or coffee, so that’s really the combination to go for. They do serve teapigs tea, which is an excellent tea, but I haven’t yet tried the coffee. Which seems silly of me, now that I think about it, because it’s not the Nordic Teapigs Collective. The cinnamon roll is extremely delicious, but also extremely small. Excellent if you are watching your waistline I suppose, but disappointing if you wanted to gorge on Nordic desserts(is that so wrong!?). Unfortunately the inside fogs up quicker than your eyeglasses in a strip club during the winter months, the pricing can be a bit high for the portioning, and the seating looks cooler than it feels to sit on. And the tables are very close together, and there’s no soundproofing whatsoever in there with all the trendy hard surfaces. Compared to, say, Nordic Bakery in London, I’ve just never found myself itching to return. The service was very friendly though!

Nordic Coffee Collection offers a lovely cozy atmosphere with a range of coffees and cakes to choose from. My friend and I had a refreshing iced coffee on a hot day and also shared a cinnamon roll and a snickers cake. Unfortunately I didn’t take a picture of them as we immediately finished our plates! They also have a few jugs of water for customers on the side of the café. The service here is great and you’re usually served quickly. Definitely a great place to go to when you’re walking into town or to London Road.

The Nordic Coffee Collective is a minimalistic coffee shop situated opposite St Peters church. It’s fairly new and I had been meaning to try it for some time. We popped in here last weekend and had a coffee and a tea. Both were good — the coffee strong and the Teapigs tea was served in a pot which I really like. However, it is a little overpriced compared to other coffee shops in the area. The styling is really nice. As I previously mentioned, it’s pretty minimalistic with an exposed concrete floor, plastic chairs and tables and bare(but beautiful) lightbulbs hanging from the ceiling. It’s not the sort of place you could cosy up in with a good book, but it’s great as a stop off if you are in this part of town. The staff were really friendly and I will definitely go back to sample some of the food here. Let’s just hope it survives in this area already brim full of similar places. The fact we were the only customers last Sunday does not bode well — try it while you can!
