Café Delice is one of the nicer new café’s recently opened in Brighton, for a variety of different reasons. First off, the location at the bottom of Kensington Gardens is perfect, in a café heavy area which exemplifies Brighton’s open, relaxed café culture. The prices may be a bit higher than you’d hope, but the services and food offered more than make up for it: loads of different types of hot food, quiches and cakes as well as sandwiches, every concievable type of coffee and tea, even wine, and free wifi! A real rarity in Brighton, the last. Obviously, free wifi means plenty of young professionals and students perched around computers, tapping away at some project or another, creating a pleasant work and social environment, especially in the lovely upstairs area. The whole atmosphere of this place is great, like one of those old cafes where everyone brought their laptops: not awkward and posed, as they seem to be now, but actually relaxed and still with a great work-ethic feel. One of my favourite places to sit and work out, and a great place for coffee and lunch.
