Rooster Café

Great breakfast but a little on the expensive side. The highlight of the meal was my husbands mayan Benedict. I would have never ordered it from the menu description but it was really good. The banana bread was the best I’ve ever had in my life, it was just so airy and fluffy!

Fantastic chicken breast sandwich and a fresh fruit salad that just knocked my socks off. Topped it off with a latte that hit the spot (they actually had de-​caf for me!). My companion enjoyed his vegetarian panini and that same killer side salad. Friendly staff!

Such a tempting menu, different from anywhere else, very creative. Food was outstanding. Poached eggs perfectly tender, fluffy, not an instant overcooked. Delicious Chipotle hollandaise. Great latte. Exceptionally caring service, loved the friendly atmosphere. Top spot, not to be missed!

Rooster is still my go to spot for my morning coffee but they loose a star for inconsistent service. The male waters seem to be more attentive, always ready with a coffee refill while the girls seem to disappear after bringing your order. Nonetheless, it’s still a great place for breakfast or just a coffee and people watching. Free wifi available

this place is just awesome. Ignore the 1 star review and believe the rest. The food here is exceptional. I’ll put it this way, if Roosters was magically relocated into my hometown, I would absolutely eat there on a regular basis. Great food, great service, and always fun to sit outside and watch the people passing by on Hidalgo.
my wife had the apple pancakes. I’m not a pancake guy but they were really good. I had the torta, which was this pastry, like a breakfast pie, with this amazing flaky crust and layers of ham, spinach, eggs and cheese. I’ll try to post a pic of it below. Oh my, it was exceptional. Then we had to try the banana bread french toast, so we ordered all of it. Everything was great and we ended up taking half the food back to our room for breakfast the next morning. Big portions.

Waiters are polite and funny! A quiet and calm. Excellent service! Recommended! And speaking good Hebrew!

Went here for breakfast. Great, fast service. Big menu with lots to choose from. Everything was delicious. Had the mexican breakfast, which was like a benedict. They use homemade bread instead of english muffins, and it was really good. Also had the huevos rancheros (amazing!) and tasted some apple pancakes. Coffee was great. For the table, they served some homemade cranberry rosemary bread (sounds like a strange combination, but it was really tasty).

Ubicado en la avenida Nader con una fachada muy coqueta este lugar cuenta con un espacio pequeño pero bonito y llamativo, cuentan con café, té, molletes, piroshky, empanadas, sandwiches, entre otros. Sus precios me parecieron justos ya que la ubicación y el producto lo vale, la atención del personal es algo que resaltar ya que están siempre al pendiente de lo que gustes y saben a la perfección sobre sus productos.
Me agradó que tuvieran leche de soya ya que es la excelente opción para los vegetarianos y veganos, el café es muy bueno y la bebida de la casa también, que ese día fue de durazno con mango.
Para platicar con tu mejor amigo o un día casual con tu pareja es genial.

Rooster is our favorite place for coffee on the island. They also make the most delicious complimentary homemade bread which has dried cranberries and rosemary in it. The combination sounds odd at first, but after one bite will totally make sense.
Their regular menu is a little pricey so we’ve only done a large breakfast here once and since then stick to lighter meals like coffee and a bagel or slice of banana bread to go. Usually my husband will walk here in the morning from our hotel and bring it back to the room so we can eat quickly before grabbing our spot on the beach for the day.
Their pancakes are good and I love that they dust them with powdered sugar before serving. My husband enjoyed the egg plate he got and noted that most everything was already nicely seasoned and didn’t need extra salt or pepper. You really can’t go wrong with any of their baked goods and I believe they even do crepes which I’m a sucker for. I will be trying them during our upcoming trip as I found out today that our normal spot for crepes has closed :-(
Both indoor and outdoor seating is available and their menu is quite long so everyone should be able to find something to make them happy. It’s not unusual for us to come here everyday while we are visiting as they are always consistently good.

Excellent muffins and steak tacos. Other food was ok (egg dishes).

One of the best spots on the island. All the Roosters (there are two) are nice. They are very reasonable compared to the states and only stupid Americans pay anywhere in Mexico with dollars. Just use your ATM take out pesos and you get the best international rate. Every day every time.

The chicken tacos, Curry Chicken Salad, the gazpacho, the chilaquilles (sp)? And coffee. Love this place.

Best breakfast on the island! So delicious my husband and I found ourselves there almost every morning the week we were on vacation there. The service is impeccable, the air conditioning oh so lovely, and the prices are reasonable. I know another reviewer thought otherwise, but our experience was quite on the contrary!

For the best breakfast on Isla de Mujeres you won’t go wrong with Rooster Restaurant. Their breakfast was the best that we found on Hidalgo St.
My wife enjoyed their pancakes one day and then their French toast the next day. I had the Mexican Breakfast the first day and it was wonderfully flavored topped with the black bean mole and Portuguese sausage; and the next day I had the Rooster Benedictine served with Chorizo which was also great.
The staff here were great and provided awesome service. They made sure to answer all of our questions, follow up on how we liked our meals, and kept our coffee /​drinks full.
Also Rooster has free wifi which in Isla is almost unheard of; and it was a lot faster than what we had the resort we were staying at.

Pricy place for tourists. Takes ages to get simple omelette. I ordered their most expensive omelette and a disappointment in form of few scrambled eggs, a bit of cheese and few slices of bell pepper. No spices. No flavor. 105 pesos. Waiter forgot to bring my orange juice and later few times asked me again what I want to drink. :-/
At the end of all, they are robbing on exchange rate — 1:13, while normal rate is $ 1:15 pesos. Don’t pay in dollars — they take your money with lower rate _​and_​they give you change in pesos for the same low rate.

By far one of the best places on the island. We visited Isla Mujeres in August, 2014 and went everyday to the Rooster on the Go every morning. We literally just got back a few days ago and was only able to visit once but we were so glad nothing much had changed. Service was perfect, food was delicious, coffee was out of this world and well, it’s even better when quick WiFi is available. We love this place and can’t wait to go back!

I got a late start to my day, and went looking for breakfast. I stumbled across Rooster. I work as a flight attendant, traveling all over the world, and so I eat at a lot of restaurants. I was greeted by my server, Carlos. He was very quick and friendly! His English was very good, but he still entertained my broken Spanish & helped me learn a few words. The owner even stopped at my table to make sure my food and service was good! Let’s talk about the food! I got a Rooster special. 2 scrambled eggs, with bacon or ham (I got bacon) plus an orange juice and coffee. The coffee is made with purified water. Carlos also brought me a piece of bread. The bread is home made here, and was fluffy and delicious. All of this for 135 pesos! It was a great deal and great service! I will be back! Plus, there’s WIFI! Bonus!!!

Honestamente no hay mejor forma de iniciar un día en Isla Mujeres que aquí. La primera vez que vine fue porque me trajeron, hablándome maravillas del lugar. Resulta que no mentían, wow. Esta ubicado a orillas de la zona más restaurantera de la isla. El ambiente es como de un acogedor y chico café, bastante cálido y cómodo.
Los menús de desayuno van desde huevos al gusto, hot cakes de avena, y demás guisos de su creación. Con licuados, fruta, y cereales tienen todo para iniciar tu día isleño. Los meseros te atienden con suficiente atención para merecerse una excelente propina. Por las tardes el lugar abandona su menú matutino y pasan a servir hamburguesas, las cuales aún espero probar para contarles.

Rooster es un restaurante que me dejo maravillada y no solo por sus platillos y el sabor, si no por apoyar eventos deportivos.
El día de hoy asistí a un evento de longboard en Isla Mujeres en el cual uno de sus patrocinadores principales era «Rooster» (hasta ese momento no había escuchado hablar jamás de ese restaurante).
Nos encontrábamos caminando por la calle y nuestras playeras del evento tenían el logotipo de este restaurante, la gente nos sonreía y nos decían que les gustaba mucho ese restaurante; en un momento pensé que lo más seguro es que pensaban que trabajábamos ahí por las playeras.
El hecho de que la gente nos dijera cosas agradables del restaurante solo por ver el logo en nuestras playeras se me hizo muy gracioso por lo tanto decidí que debía conocerlo y cenar en este sitio para ver por que era tan agradable para las personas.
El servicio fue bueno: los precios de las bebidas es un poco elevado; sin embargo esta justo en el centro en una zona turística por lo que se entiende.
Probé una lasagna vegetariana y estaba DELICIOSA y sirven una muy buena porción como para quedar satisfecho

Uno de los restaurantes favoritos tanto para locales como para extranjeros.
Este lugar se encuentra cerca de la pintoresca 5ta avenida de Isla Mujeres, es una excelente y economica opcion, considerando que se encuentra en el area turistica (donde los precios son mas elevados)
Cuenta con dos sucursales una es mayormente para desayunos, snack y comida rapida.
La otra es un restaurante con menú de desayuno, comida y cena.
Ofrecen algunos paquetes de bagels a elegir con sopa ó con ensalada.
Los alimentos son frescos y ricos.
En cuanto a las bebidas, tienen muchas opciones en café pero tambien cuentan con jugos, licuados naturales, tés, vinos y smoothies.

Was excited that they opened at 7:00, not many restaurants were open that early. Ate there twice, eggs once and French toast with berries and tapioca the second. Both were delicious, and the coffee is great. Would stop in the afternoon for an iced latte pick-​me-​up. The staff were very friendly too. Check them out!

My absolute favorite breakfast place on the island. Amazing coffee, and their Rosemary bread is to die for.

Food was really good for breakfast. Ordered chilaquiles, pancakes, fruit plate, scrambled eggs and orange juice. Excellent breakfasts. Also the wifi works really well there so we took advantage of that to share our vacation pics on Facebook. Another plus– AIR
CONDITIONED. Rare to find AC in restaurants at Isla Mujeres– so hot and humid on that island I couldn’t eat at outside places without feeling like passing out afterwards so this café was perfect for me. The servers were super nice and polite. Felt so comfortable there! Loved it!
