This place was all we could ask for. Great area on patio. Food was different and so good. You have to try the Cazuela M&J dish, any of the various styles. Special and so good. The kind people running the place are very thoughtful and service is great. We had the misfortune of temporarily loosing our money and they let us go make arrangements to make payment as if it was no worry or issue. We have eaten at over 15 restaurants while staying in Isla, this ranks am on the top two or three for us. Do give them a try, you won’t be disappointed in any fashion.

My wife and I found this place via Unilocal this morning and decided to give it a try. So glad we did. The inside tables were full of locals. We always see as a good sign. We chose a corner seat on the covered patio. The service was prompt and friendly. We both ordered from the breakfast specialties side of the menu. My wife chose the Isla Mujedes and I went with the Huevos Rancheros. We enjoyed coffee, Agua de Pina & deNaranja. The plates arrived shortly there after. Sizzling hot served on clay hot plates. Perfect portions for two hungry travelers. We highly recommend this place for a delicious authentic Mexican Breakfast!

Found this gem through Trip Advisor, and realized it was a block away from our Airbnb. We came here for breakfast, staff was friendly and gave us great service. I ordered one of thh Cazuela’s, and was delicious. Be careful because it is very hot. Food have great flavor and like always, they offer you two types of salsa, spicy and mild. Coffee kept being refilled, as long as you order the American coffee.

My second time here was as good as my first. Great breakfast(and of the healthy variety compared to Pancakes and Cinnamon rolls), charming restaurant, but the location leaves a bit to be desired. If you’re going for food — this place is great. We’ve sampled a few of the Cazuela dishes(cooked in a cermic bowl) and they’ve all been very good. All for a very good price too! If you’re going for an island experience — this won’t be great fit. There is a bit of traffic, not a lot of air flow(they have fans but they don’t do much), and no view. I’ll definitely go back in the future for the food!

Super cute place. However the food looks better than it tastes. Desperately wanted my cazuela to be good but i think i dowsed it in salsa just to give it a little something to get it down. Not cheap either but think youre paying for all the special attention to décor.

Someone in our hotel recommended it to us. The breakfast here was delicious albeit a little heavy for such a hot place. If I’m not mistaken, a cazuela is the name of a cooking pot. Because different kinds of dishes are prepared in it, different dishes go by this name in different Latin American countries. In this specific restaurant, a cazuela is something of an omelette cooked and served in a colorful stoneware(?). Not sure if it’s made of stone because the thing was supposed to be molten lava hot so I didn’t touch it. I ordered something with asparagus and gruyère. It was more like a very rich and decadent crustless quiche. It would’ve been a perfect breakfast back home where it’s cold. Unfortunately in tropical Isla Mujeres, it just left me feeling a little too sluggish. This is a solidly good place. It’s not exactly traditional Mexican fare but if you’re craving cheese and ham and eggs, this is your place. Think of it as a restaurant a step above Denny’s. And with a little bit more charm! Overall, delicious food. Sufficiently attentive service. Not an everyday spot for breakfast but a good scrumptious treat every once in awhile.
