Wish I had visited here before my last day in Cancun. I would have returned several times. The dishes are amazing. I’m not a vegan, but this place is making me reconsider. I had the redfish West Indies Tamarind(I know not ‘pure’ vegan). It was grilled and laid atop basmati rice, there was this cucumber papaya pico de gallo, a wonderful sauce with just the right amount of garlic. Very flavorful. Will post a picture. Service was pleasant. Relaxing. Hey, on Isla Mujeres — don’t be in a hurry! A great seating area very comfortable white tables with wooden chairs and cushions. Be forewarned. Bring your pesos. No credit cards! But prices are very, very reasonable. Cheers!

I don’t write Unilocal reviews, but this place was so good I had to. It’s simply the best food and drink(ritas) I’ve had in the Cancun area in the past 3 years I’ve been. Super friendly staff, so hospitable with our kids, above all else delicious, go there!

Went for breakfast and was very happy to see veggie and vegan options. I had the breakfast empanadas which came out hot, crispy and delicious. Staff was fantastic… attentive and very friendly. Only glitch was the self serve coffee(very rich tasty brew) ran dry before I got a second cup. Really good meal… check it out.

I have to say until this experience the food was fantastic. The service was always slow, but the food made up for the slow service. Went there at 2045 for dinner. Ordered drinks an appetizer and two entrees. Finished the drinks and the server returns. She says their is a large table, looks like 8 – 10, and we place a second drink order. At an hour later, my wife goes to a server and asked about our order. Server says it’ll be up in two minutes. I know what this means having served tables, it’s cold or undercooked. They bring appetizer and both entrees at the same time. It is all cold. I am not eating cold food. I offer to pay for the drinks and the decline. The server says the owner said he was sorry and did not want anything for the drinks or food. I said, «it would be nice if he said this.» The server said he doesn’t speak English as he is the co-owner and the other co-owner who speaks English is away. That’s too bad, since they didn’t ask if I spoke Spanish. I guess I don’t look like I speak Spanish. If I didn’t I would have appreciated his effort to communicate. Obviously, I am not that much of a concern. When it is served hot, the food has been good in the past. I’m not keen on disappointment, especially on vacation. We went to Rolandi’s after this experience. Food was hot and I didn’t have to wait 1.25 hours for it to arrive, hot. Not as good, but it was reliable as it has been for the past 12 years I have been coming to Isla.

Hands down, this is our favorite restaurant in Isla. The food is superb and the menu is refreshed often so you are always in store for a treat. They have added a fresh juice and smoothie bar which seems to be a hit. We also enjoy the self serve coffee station. Don’t worry, if regular coffee isn’t your jam they make frou frou coffee drinks as well for all you French pressing latte lovers out there. We were also pleased to see their menu has many vegetarian/vegan options now. With all the over indulging one does during vacation(raises hand), it feels good to refuel with something healthy. My husband started with a juice called the Zinger and it definitely woke him up while having a nice balance of spicy ginger and sweet carrot. For my breakfast I got the Mexican hash that had scrambled eggs, soy chorizo, corn, black beans, roasted poblanos, potatoes, avocado, tomatoes, and diced onions served with a side of warm tortillas and salsa verde. Incredibly delicious. My husband had some sort of stuffed roasted poblano goodness that was the size of his head. Our friends were more traditional and had granola and a typical breakfast combo of eggs, meat, and potatoes. We shared a short stack of pancakes too which ended up being gigantic. The prices here I find to be reasonable for the excellent quality of food you are given. Most places on the island overcharge simply because tourism is their main income but here I am happy to pay what they ask because I always leave full and content. We have already made plans to go back a second time before heading home. It’s by far been the best meal we’ve had on the island this trip. And for an island that’s almost impossible to find good coffee on, they do a decent job. We could taste the hint of cinnamon in there which I really liked.

Muy buena opción para comer en Isla Mujeres, aunque falta variedad en el menú, la comida superó las expectativas.

Delicious! Amazing margaritas. The guacamole on their plantains were to die for. The hanger steak tacos were also excellent.

Amazing food! Loved it! The flaw: they don’t take credit cards but they have an atm— parking is difficult to find and service was pretty slow. It’s prob the one spot you should definitely go to on the island! Totally worth it!

Great place for an open air brunch and the good news is that brunch is served until 1:30pm. Healthy & delicious but know that this establishment is cash only: US dollars & pesos accepted. They have an atm on site that dispenses dollars. This menu was made Americans, lots of organic and gluten free items and more typical of restaurants in the US as opposed to a sampling of the local flavor.

Excellent food and service! Went the day before but they were closed and owner offered to let us have a drink. Margaritas are delicious… Favorite one for me was orange and pomegranate. Food was awesome and very large portions. Had the guacamole and Mexican fondue for appetizers and both were plenty for four. Our group had the fish tacos, burrito, curry, and empanadas. All were good! Highly recommend! Returned for breakfast and it was spectacular… Cinnamon roll pancakes, blgt eggs Benedict, blue corn pancakes, and carribean French toast. All very good!

Consistently delicious food and every plate had a beautiful presentation! It had been five years since my mom and I had been to Isla and were pleasantly surprised to come across Lola Valentina! We ended up coming for either breakfast or lunch every day during our vacation because we still had items on the menu we wanted to try. The different variations of the Eggs Benedict and the coffee station were the highlights of the breakfast menu for me. I’m a sucker for eggs Benedict if it’s on the menu and I tried every variation here. Caribe Eggs Benedict was delicious. For dinner, I had the curried coconut shrimp which was very flavorful and I think my favorite meal on the island. You can’t go wrong with any type of drink or margarita here either. Blueberry, mango and cucumber hibiscus were just a few of my favorites. Come with an appetite though because the portions are huge!

Dang, what a meal. We visited Isla Mujeres on a Wednesday morning and wanted to get a unique dining experience along with our shopping adventure. Lola Valentina isn’t on the main tourist strip, but is a must for anyone looking for a great meal with friendly service for a great price. There were a lot of other restaurants around the island that looked empty and too touristy for us. We stumbled upon LVs on a whim and were not disappointed. It was one of the few places with others eating inside around 12:45 for lunch. They were still serving brunch upon our arrival and the lunch/dinner menu was not available until later in the day — not a big deal considering the outstanding food we got. We had the breakfast burrito(w/chorizo) and breakfast empanadas. Both were outstanding. Being in Mexico and hearing horror stories of Montezuma’s Revenge, we were nervous to eat/drink anything made with local water. Trots be damned, we steamrolled through breakfast without stomach issues. We had four beers and two breakfast appetizers for about $ 30USD. Not bad considering the portion sizes, quality, and lack of food borne illness. It is cash(peso) only but there is an ATM near the front of the house. If only Cancun was closer to home, I’d eat here regularly. The meal was our best during our eight day stay. If nothing else well worth the boat ride to Isla Mujeres to dine here. Hats off to these folks. This is a real gem.

The food here hits the spot, especially after a long day on the island. Service was excellent, you feel really welcomed and the place has a Good ambiance. Please Note that they do not take Credit Cards(so have cash with you). They have an ATM right at the entrance too if you want to use that.

After trekking through the island for a few hours, the best treat is an ice cold refreshing CHAYA + coconut smoothie. Although not cheap, ~60 pesos, we watched as one of the servers pulled out fresh ingredients and prepared the smoothie within 5 minutes. The smoothies are completely vegan and have a zillion varieties including chia seed mix ins. I also ordered their homemade coconut ice-cream(vegan) for 35 pesos. It was ok– unusually sweet but refreshing nonetheless. If you happen to stop by during brunch hours, make sure to try their special of the day!

So happy I found this place while we visited Isla Mujeres. We came in for brunch/lunch during the week when our boat stopped at the Island for a few hours. My family was starving so we came in for a drink and some light fare. I loved it. It was hot(obviously) but the atmosphere and décor was awesome with hand painted walls and beautiful flowers everywhere. The service and food was excellent! It’s not a hole in the wall by any means and could totally operate in a city with their great menu, service and cocktails but also gives you the traditional Mexican experience you want while on vacation there. I would recommend this to anyone. Everyone at my table loved what they got and was probably one of the best meals we had while in Mexico. I ordered the hibiscus mango margarita which was so good and I believe had the eggs benedict. The menu is unique with great flavor profiles.

Lola was my favorite dinner on Isla Mujeres. The atmosphere was relaxed, but still had wonderful service. I started with a jalapeño margarita & it was perfect. For my entrée I ordered the chicken skewers, & talk about a great meal! The skewers were topped with a peanut sauce & served on a bed mashed sweet potatoes and a few fried plantains. I’m not even a big fan of peanut sauce, but my meal was fantastic! I also tried the hummus, and it was spicy! If you like a little heat, you’ll like the hummus. Also, the jalapeño poppers were good, but not as spicy as I excepted, and the sweet chili sauce served with them added a sweet element. Everyone else at my table loved their meals, as well. Overall, dinner at Lola was a great experience, & I recommend it to anyone on Isla Mujeres.
