Excellent food, great prices. The owner Señor Ruben is very polite and helpful. We had pasta pomodoro and the plates were much better than others we had at more upscale lookong places. I wish we discovered this place sooner.

Rubens was our last dinner on the island just a couple weeks ago. My husband ordered the burrito and I had chicken enchiladas. Everything was delicious and Ruben was over the top warm and friendly. We will definitely return when we go back!

Ruben is a fantastic host and the food was just as good. Seven of us ordered a broad range of dishes and no one was disappointed. The frozen mojito was a table favorite.

We went to Rubens for lunch and had to return because it was too good. Great Guacamole, as well as the Burrito, Quesadilla and Enchilada Mole.
Super friendly staff, a lot of food for little money.
Another upside — it’s off the tourist’s main street. The interior is simple but clean and comfy.

On Trip Advisor everybody raves about this restaurant so we thought I would give it a try for breakfast — at first I wasn’t not sure if I was at the right place since there was zero atmosphere here with a run down building with plastic tables and chairs. Coffee was average at best and my huevos rencheros was good but not worth more than 3 stars
Not so sure how this restaurant is rated #1 for the island on Trip Advisor when there are so many other better options on the island
