Probably the only outlet that’s not in a mall so if you’re here evenings and weekends, there should be street parking available. I like the chocolate they use in their hot chocolate and mocha. But that’s about it. Service for the most part is not bad. Also went back one time for lunch and it was a terrible decision. Who thought that chilli sauce was a good idea for salad dressing? If not for the Offpeak discount, I wouldn’t really bother.

Espressolab is the Starbucks of modernized coffee drinking experience in Malaysia now, and it is not the place to go to if you are a coffee lover. Coffee is meant to be brewed with passion, and sometimes just pure skill of course, because you are rushing to brew up a cup for your drinkers. But here, all you taste is a rushed cup of caffeine and beans mixed with water, nothing more. No smell, no texture, nothing. It’s like tasting brown water, the expensive kind of course. Long with their pre-made pastries, everything here tastes very much like Donald Trump in a cup: fake, delirious and full of capitalist manners. That being said, if you love spending your time in a decent environment drinking a cup of terrible coffee, this is the place for you. You can put that on that.

Having a few outlets across Pj, this one in my opinion has the biggest crowd during lunch hours. Okay, parking is not easily obtainable during weekdays but weekend is totally empty. This humble store lies next to the alley directly diagonally opposite Vary Pasta which has awesome dishes by the way! I drop by this café just for dessert and giving their coffee a try. I do not really like the ambience and deco as I feel its a little to exposed and it doesnt feel cozy during the day. The night time however, becareful when you are crossing through the alley as it is dark. The coffee is not bad, taste like those coffee you can get from other commercialized coffee cafes! Overall, my experience there was meh and the coffee was okay.

I am always around the SS2, DJ, DU area looking for places to sit down, have a decent cuppa, and work. This Espressolab is currently my no.1 spot for a few reasons(Standing Theory in SS2 is my 2nd in case you’re wondering). Firstly, coffee is decent, probably the best in the Atria area. Secondly, the chairs are comfortable enough to sit on for a few hours straight. Thirdly, the wifi has been consistently good and rarely fails on you. I feel this Espressolab is also better than other alternatives in SS2 and Uptown mainly because of parking. It is difficult to find parking on weekday afternoons, but not as impossible as SS2 or Uptown. The coffee here is good, but it can be inconsistent sometimes, especially when the resident barista isn’t around. The flat white’s temperature is usually what irks me, but no harm done if you’re not an insufferable coffee snob. Can’t say the same about the food here though. It screams commercialised café chain food. Soulless and manufactured. Slightly overpriced. I’ve arrived at sticking to coffee only whenever I’m here. If you’re looking for a café with great food, Chuup down the road is fantastic and not expensive. To sum it up, I come here looking for good coffee and a comfy place to work, and this place is A-OK for that.

Considered a rather newly opened branch, there had been comments that this branch isn’t as good as the old ones as espresso lab is getting more and more commercialised. I however think that it’s just fine. I mean, given all the opening promotions and discounts that they were doing while its newly opened, i think their service was considered okay. this branch has used very minimalist and clean design for their interior. Also, it’s quite spacious and bright, so you won’t feel cramped while catching up with your friend over a coffee. Do remember to pay for your parking before you settle for your cup of joe though, the police do come to this area quite often to check on the parked cars. So, you won’t want to get a summons after you finish your coffee, right?

I was driving around DJ trying to look for a place that I can sit and work for an hour before my next meeting at noon. 3 places came into my head. One that I’ve visited, one that wasn’t ready for business yet and this other one which just opened. So naturally I went for the new one. I arrived at 11 in the morning and the crowd was only me and this other woman who was already sitting comfortably on the sofa. I ordered a simple breakfast of bread, eggs and salad and my usual flat white. Coffee came shortly after I sat down and food too. The girl who served was really tall for an Asian. After finishing my meal and coffee. I felt like I overpaid for whatever I’ve eaten. It will be extremely hard for me to justify the reason to come back to this place except maybe just to get that waitress’s number.
