I would give 0 stars if I could. On a Friday evening at 7pm, we walked in after reading some good reviews about this place. There were 2 – 3 filled tables, otherwise it was rather empty — some tables even had used plates and glasses that were not yet cleared. No one greeted us; no one was standing near the entrance not behind the coffee bar. In fact we thought all the servers were not around. After 5 mins of standing like idiots with the table at the back occasionally staring at us, we didn’t know what to do except study the menu. A woman and her friend came in looking confused as well and walked to the counter trying to inquire. And guess what, a young guy from the back table actually went to serve her or something, and only then I realized the table at the back were actually all the restaurant employees who did nothing to serve us. So I went up to him and ask him do I order at the counter, he lazily asked me to just sit down. Thinking that they’ll finally come and take my order, we sat down and yet, NOONECAME! We were pretty pissed at this moment and decided that we no longer feel like dining here so we left. The woman and her friend left too, most probably due to bad service. Or more like — no service at all. I hope the owners realize how much damage your unprofessional, lazy employees are doing to your business. It’s a shame — we really wanted to try your food but now we’re never going back again.

This place is a little gem in a mountain full of gems. Nestled in between the offices facing the lip, it has a vintage feel to it. The chalk drawings and menu makes you feel at home. The place is always cheerful but not too full that it feels claustrophobic. The lighting tends to make one feel sleepy but if you are in good company, that should not be a problem

Couldn’t believe that I have not write about this place. Been here a few times back in the days where I’m actively hunting for good breakfast. This is one of my favorite brunch place especially when they serve pork. Yums! Love their pork sausage! It’s so juicy and delicious. Oh yeah, they are famous for their pork dishes hehe. During my previous visit, I tried their Big Breakfast and sandwiches. This time I went for their Waffle Brunch and my other half had their carbonara. His carbonara arrived first and as usual, I hijacked his carbonara and have the first bite. It was so good that I can’t stop eating and he have to remind me that the carbonara is not mine. Hahaha. It was really good! I kinda regret not ordering that. My Waffle Brunch wasn’t that bad. In fact it was good too! I stop stealing his carbonara once my food is served. Hehe. Good food always brings be good mood. Epicuro’s food is really awesome. Each time I’m here, I’m always satisfied with my order. Yums! FYI, their coffee are not bad too. You get to choose to have one or two shots of espresso(as you like).

The ambiance is quaint, with naked yellow bulbs dangling all around. Plenty of chalk art and drawings on the wall.(okay, so there was this drawing where the lady had her hand at an extremely weird angle and it bothered me a little but hey we were here for the food) The surroundings are quite typical of the many hipster cafés, it’s nice but not memorable. Anyway, on to the order and food! Service was prompt even though it was a full house later on. Waiter was knowledgeable about the dishes and didn’t kick up a fuss about 3 girls sharing an appetiser, pasta and dessert — which is a bonus. We had the bacon and potato salad. Could have done with a bit more mayonnaise as it lacked a bit of flavour. However it was easily remedied with the sauce from the carbonara. Those two dishes go quite well to together. Carbonara is pretty decent as well. The mint dark chocolate mousse however is a miss for me. I was expecting it to be more chocolatey but it sadly wasn’t. All in all, it’s a nice place with good food and decent service but for some reason isn’t really memorable to me.

Pork friendly place in Damansara Uptown. Delicious yet generous portions You can’t miss this corner shop lot with it’s bold ‘Epicuro’ emblazoned across its white signage. It’s facing the LDP highway and shares the same row with Maybank and right next to fame tom yam place ‘Vicchuda’. I came here for dinner so parking was aplenty but the streets are pretty dimly lighted so take precautions and be aware of your surroundings. Service here is pretty top notch with well-spoken servers and they are pretty attentive. Props to you ladies who take care of us last night! If you were coming in a large group, it would be wise to make reservations since their seatings are pretty limited. Epicuro is fame for their Pork chops and Lamb Shank. But instead of lamb shank, we decided to go for fish & chips and their pork chops. Best decision yet, since it was shared, i don’t think we could have handle two heavy meaty meals. Food was served very promptly, kudos to the chefs! The Fish & Chip RM19.90 — lightly breaded fish fillet with spicy fries that came in the shape of «Pringles». The potato chips/fries were the star of this meal. As for the Pork Chops RM32.90 — it came in 2 generous portions of pork chops — good enough to be shared. While the meat was a bit tough, the mushroom cream sauce was daBOMB. Savoured every part of it! This place is also a popular brunch place so i’m keen to come back to try out their brunch menu which includes Waffle Brunch and Big Breakfast. They also serve dessert waffles — Old School Classic RM13.90 and Waffles & Ice Cream RM17.90

Over a weekend, my mother decided bring me to Damansara Uptown for a quick catch up session with one of her old friends. Her friend brought us over to Epicuro, claiming that they had some of the best food Uptown had to offer. Interested to test out her theory, I decided to give the Pork Ragu Marinara a shot. Our food didn’t take too long to arrive, and I was eternally grateful when it did. If I had to answer one more question along the lines of «How is SPM going, dear?», I was going to walk to the next table and beg the family over there to adopt me. I dug into my marinara without hesitation. My pork was cooked very well, hardly any parts that were too chewy or tough, and my sauce was thick as well as fabulously creamy. Epicuro excels at their deliverance of quality, affordable meals. Another plus point would definitely be service over there. Waiters are quick on their feet and refreshingly friendly. If circling around Damansara for half an hour in pursue of parking space is not much of a bother to you, be sure to consider Epicuro.

Today, my friends and I visited Epicuro. The restaurant is located at Damansara Uptown, same row as Rekindle Café. Parking was not an issue as there are not many restaurants on that respective row of shop lots. On a Sunday night, it was a full house at Epicuro. Lucky for us, as we swerve in, a table of 4 was available for us to dine in. Many sort of customers were there which include couples, families, group of friends and many more.
Personally, I ordered the Crispy Chicken coleslaw. My dish was served the last compared to my friends. I was a little disappointed at the service; however, the dish was delicious. I would rate it 7⁄10. The crunchiness of the chicken is there and it is not overcooked. Besides that, the texture of the dish is balance as there are chips, coleslaw and a tomato based dipping sauce to back up the main course. The presentation was not fantastic along with its portion size. I believe they are quite generous with the chips. Drinks are refillable(water), as Epicuro has the same concept of Plan B of how they serve and refill their drinks.
To add on, I believe the dish is value for money, as I paid MYR18.50 and I was quite full at the end. Water is free. Epicuro would be a place I would return as the food is good and many other dishes I would love to try.

I have heard many good thing about Epicuro from my sister. An equally as passionate pork lover, I demanded that she take me there. As usual, parking at damansara uptown is a challenge. But with a bit of perseverance we managed to get one. Epicuro definitely got the chill factor down pat, with its sunny yellow and cool black landscaping the interior. If you’re there do take the time to appreciate the chalk drawings that a peppered around the shop. The Spaghetti Carbonara(RM18.90) was what I had. With bacon bits, it was slightly different from the usual carbonara due to a nicely poached egg resting right on top. Now I’ve never been a fan of carbonara, but this made me rethink my convictions a little bit. I wish I could have tried more dishes but I was extremely bloated by the end of the meal. One thing for sure, I’ll be back.

While my love for Uptown, Damansara continues, Epicuro reinforces it with its ambience and beauty that is lightly veiled by the dingy space there. What I liked about Epicuro is its choice of food; there is no pretentious notions about it, for most of the food on the menu is deceptively simple. From the simple jug of water to the copious amounts of ‘fish’ on the fish and chips, it seemed to me that Epicuro wants to serve AND feed customers well, and not just to earn some money from this business. I, for one, enjoyed their pork chops. Deliciously grilled with mashed potatoes underneath it, it is quite possibly the dish of the century. My friends ordered the mixed mushroom spaghetti aglio olio and the fish and chips, both also in big portions and is filled with the taste of passion, a sign of good governing by the boss. The only one drawback will be its size and the space of the restaurant in general. A little more space could do a lot of good in this amazing restaurant, and help to boost the business to even greater heights.
