Chose to come here with my girlfriends firstly because of the lesser crowd in comparison to other bars around the area and because they apparently have good shisha! It was my first time here and despite the exterior, I wasn’t expecting the chill out vibe on the inside. On a Wednesday evening, the place was less than half filled, but you can tell that those that are here are regulars with their laidback and comfortable demeanor. We were one of the youngest amongst the more matured visitors and most are there for a good pint of beer after work. There is also a pool table at the back. So, my evening was relaxed and I got the feeling that people aren’t there to impress. Music was a mixture of latest hits and some R&B which I liked. As I have already eaten that night, I took a few bites of my friend’s Penang Char Kuey Teow which she often orders. Hot enough, extra spicy as requested, the portion is huge, and there are big prawns. I thought for a bar, the CKT was damn good! Even better than some hawkers I’ve had as a matter of fact. The other recommendation dish is the mutton fried rice. Service was good, place is clean, overall, I would come back again for a simple night out for some catching up with my girls.

Your typical run-of-the-mill neighborhood bar where the music is loud, the beers are cheap and the service is, well, okay. I would usually come here on weekdays cause its one of the bars that closes really late on a Tuesday, or a Wednesday, or a Thursday… My fondest memory of this bar is when a friend and I got to talking with one of the regulars there. He enjoyed our company so much that he started paying for our drinks(yes he was drunk.) It was nearly 3 in the morning and the bar was closing down but he insisted that we go in and have a couple more pints with him inside, the bartender obliged. They closed the shutter behind us and we sat at one of the tables and ordered more drinks and continued with our conversation to well past 5 am. Now I wouldn’t recommend that you drink till 5 in the morning with the neighborhood drunk but I do however urge you to listen to their stories and delve deep into their life stories, you could learn a lot about a persons hurt and longtime suffering. What T club has taught me is to be more compassionate to people’s feelings and stories and to try to understand where their hurt came from. I bet your local bar doesn’t teach you that huh?
