As big sushi fans, my best friend and I decided to try Sushi Tei as we always stick to one sushi joint that we always go to. This time we wanted to try some place else and we agreed on Sushi Tei. We had to wait awhile before we got a seat during dinner because it was a little crowded but it was a quick wait. We were greeted with big smiles and escorted to our table. We decided to just order 2 items of the menu as we wanted to take the sushis on the conveyor belt. The options on the conveyor belt were so limited as the same dish kept coming back. Even our dish that we ordered from the menu took quite awhile to arrive. We were both there with our chopstick waiting for our food as the items on the conveyor belt did not interest us. In the end, we ended up taking a few sushi from the belt. I felt that the sushi was nit up to my expectation and was not as good as the place we usually go to. The sushi was not fresh and it lacked in quality. Overall, it was just an experience for me as I would not go back there again. I will be sticking to my usual sushi spot instead.

There’s definitely fine choices of Japanese food in the Gardens Mall. One of which is Sushi Tei. Known to be on par with other japanese restaurants like sushi zanmai, they provide more than just a dining experience. This place is suitable for all occasions & gatherings, be it a family dinner or a catch up with friends, it is fairly comfortable. Occasionally Sushi Tei does offer promotional items which are for a fixed period of time, most of which coincides with any festival of any sort. When it comes to food, they are definitely superior to places such as sakae sushi. The freshness of their sashimi and the silkiness of the chawanmushi is just superb. Alongside the usual sushi’s & handrolls, you can try their garlic fried rice which i found quite flavorful & their spicy ramen noodles. Their penthouse salmon roll is shows the creativity that comes along with good sushi. In terms of pricing, they are averagely priced for the portions & the quality delivered.

Consistent and rather generous. Among all the japanese restaurants, this is the only one that gives/puts a lot of mentai sauce on the sushi(Tamago mentai, salmon mentai, hotate(Scallop) mentai). Service is quite good. Price is not too pricey too.

A slightly more expensive Sushi Zanmai? I would prefer Sushi Zanmai compared to Sushi Tei anytime, but it’s just my preference so you gotta try it and decide yourself. They have more variety of dishes here compared to Sushi Zanmai but taste wise and price, not as good. Tried their Negitoro Rice bowl the last time I was here as well as a few sushi roll dishes which was just okay for me. I mean if it comes to the sashimi, it just depends on whether if its fresh or not and it’s fresh so don’t worry. As for the rolls, they’re not as great as I thought it would be. Sushi Tei has the very best Sushi ever! The menu has so much variety! way more than Sushi king! it’s definitely a must visit! They have Crab Sushi which I haven’t tried before anywhere else! super yummy! and I love how much detail is put into each plate they serve you. The place looks really cool and chill, low level of noise. I loved the architecture and the friendliness of the people around! don’t miss out on experiencing this amazing place! :)

Knowing that the food and service quality can be quite different at different branches, i decided to try out their mid valley branch today. Im glad to find out that this branch is not that bad as compared to pavilion’s(you can find my review for the branch) as I’m a sushi tei member card holder myself, so i have to know which branch to visit! I ordered my all time favourites here — yakiniku don and salmon sashimi! Yakiniku don itself is just ordinary, while salmon sashimi served here is better than average, however not as good as the ipoh parade mall branch. Don’t forget to try their tako sushi here as they always give fresh and generously big slice of takos here! Also, since it’s fresh so you can drop your worry of possible rubbery takos. Hehe. If you like sushi tei too, by all means get their member card for rm99 where you’ll get rm120 vouchers in return, with all year long 10% discount and 20% discount during the two weeks of your birthday. Cheerio, jap. food lovers!

If you’re trying to reach some decent Japanese food while not to spend alot at the same time, Sushi tei has everything here for you! There’s a few things that I love here, the 1st thing is their ramen. I’ve always been craving for a fine ramen which isn’t too heavy & yet tastes just nice. A few options of ramen is available here but I’m satisfied with the spicy soup ramen they serve. Honestly I’m quite satisfied with the food quality here and it sure doesn’t taste as if you were having Japanese food in some cheap restaurants. I also like having sushi here, especially their salmon mentai, they all looks fully topped with ingredients which greatly increase your appetite. We don’t always see long big queue here & cheap promotion sets on their list but seriously this place really pins us in for its decent taste. I guess that speaks out for them pretty well.

I’m not sure if they’ve always had it, but I was mildly surprised to see that Sushi Tei had a lunch set menu when I came here for lunch today. At 12pm on a Friday and extremely famished, I was glad that there wasn’t a line even though the place was full. Service was fast and attentive. I had one of the lunch sets which, priced at RM21.90 seemed reasonable as it consisted of rice, fried squid, grilled salmon and salad alongside chawanmushi and miso soup. Immediately, he set down our chawanmushis which we dug into as we waited for the rest of our meal. I thought my set was so-so. I enjoyed the salmon but the whole meal wasn’t warm and the fried squid wasn’t crunchy or anything. It certainly filled me up but overall not the best thing I’ve had in Sushi Tei. I’ll be coming back, but not for the lunch sets.
