Colonial Cafe@The Majestic Hotel

People usually come to here for afternoon tea. There’s three different themes of places for you to choose. One of it is Colonial Café, where you can sit at the tea lounge enjoying a cup of tea/​coffee and have their famous tea set which included puffs, sandwiches, scones and sweet dessert.
The ambient here will give you a feeling of classy British afternoon. The lighting is warm, a British style of heritage interior design with a piano in the middle. Listening to the melody from piano while you sipping your tea and chatting with your friends. Do you feel Datin yet? Lol!
Well, it’s only cost around RM50++ (before GST) for the afternoon tea prices. Tea time start from 3 p. m to 6.30 p. m daily.
Parking fee is RM10.00.

I have had high tea at normal café before trying out The Colonial Café. Although the price is almost twice the price at normal café but it is a satisfaction guarantee.
When we walked into The Majestic Hotel, we didn’t know they have different theme for each lounge; The Smoke House, Contango, The Tea Lounge, The Orchid Conservatory etc. We choose Colonial Café because we really like the whole atmosphere creation. The interior design pieces are exclusive with the red leather chairs, white tablecloths and timber paneling reinforce the colonial feel. We choose to sit at the outdoor covered courtyards for the bright ambiance and it is less crowded; perfect for an afternoon dating.
The high tea set was served with a beautiful bird cage inspired tray. On top, 4 warm scones are served together with strawberry jam and white chocolate sauce. By far, it is the best scone I have ever tasted.
The second level is filled with fruit tart, bread pudding and cake assortment included the pandan cupcake, very Malaysian taste lah I liked.
The last level are more filling one with sandwiches and buns. I didn’t get the name of the tea served but the tea fragrance was astringent; it lingers in my mouth after sipping it.
The service was excellent; the waitress introduced us each of the food. I would definitely come back again to try out the other lounges! Perfect for couple who look forward a quiet afternoon accompany with great high tea.
