After the Chinese New Year festive season indulging in all the snacks and goodies, the temperature in my body tends to rise and may give me a sore throat or worse a flu. This year, would be different as I decided to be down myself with water and cooling herbal drinks even before any signs of sore throat or flu. So while looking for a new bed at Viva Mall, I came across Koong Woh Tong, a Chinese herbal tea and jelly shop. I took a break from all the bed shopping to have a cup of Wong Lo Kat, a Chinese herbal tea known for getting rid of body heat. The taste, was really bitter. All good things for you are usually bitter. However, don’t worry, they will provide you a sweet of some sort to counter the bitterness on your tongue. I then had a bowl of guilinggao, Chinese herbal jelly. This is something that I had always like, although it has a bitter taste, it is usually eaten with adding some honey water with it. It is always soothing after eating it.
