Tasty and well priced food. I especially liked boneless butter chicken with butter garlic naan(not so spicy). Portions are quite small though, so I had to order another meal afterwards. Reading other reviews I was expecting slow and unfriendly service but it looks like they changed since then. True, we had to wait for food some time(still under 15 min), but we never had a problem calling a waiter. Overall, I would recommend the place if you’re looking for tasty Indian food in Penang.

Got a few recommendations to visit this place but instead got takeout. Always seems to be quite busy there, probably because its located in a quite busy part of little India. Got the Tandoori chicken and chicken tikka and they were both pretty good. The nasi goreng was so so, not such a big fan of the cabbage in it, but i believe thats a Penang thing as some that I tried in Kuala Lumpur were without it.

My first experience of Indian Malaysian food and I’m hooked. We ordered off the menu and went crazy with ordering the dishes. I think we ate enough for 4 people but no regrets! The chicken tandoori, butter chicken, and chicken briyani were all great choices. Their naan was outstanding! I got the garlic butter naan and my husband got the garlic naan — completely made the meal! We washed it all down with mango lasi and man, that was tasty.

The naan was great but the wait staff are not interested in taking your orders. Do hustle for attention anytime you need help.

Great Indian food. It says 24 hours but they might not have the foods you want at the time you come.

Nope. I am not going to recommend this place as they were rude and unhelpful. I tried ordering several times and the staff referred me from one person to the next then back to square one. Seemed like they did not want to serve me so I took my business elsewhere. Penang is full of good eats, so do yourself a favor and leave this rude establishment.

Whenever I am in Penang I will make at least one stop to Kapitan. The naan bread here is really something special and I consider myself quite the naan bread connoisseur so that’s a big deal. Get the tandoori naan set and you will be in Indian food heaven, trust me.

Kapitan claims to have«World Class Naan Bread And Briyani Claypot»: this is the truth. It’s absolutely world class. This 24 hour eatery will serve you dish after dish of the finest Indian cuisine. The naan simply cannot be bettered — and I’ve traveled everywhere looking for good naan. The tandoori is magnificent. Everything mutton is amazing. And the best bit is, the location is super authentic. You’re only across the road from Penang’s Little India.

One of the best local restaurants, try the chicken masala, chicken vindaloon or the lamb mutton. Anthony Bourdain should be a segment here. You will not be disappointed.
