Albeit a bit pricey, it’s totally worth it. My local friend took me here and we have been coming here every time we come to Tokyo. They close at 9PM and will take the last order at 8:30PM, so make sure you don’t come at 8:45PM, they will not be able to serve you. They do speak a bit of English. Takano fruit parlor has absolutely the best parfait. All the fruits they serve is super fresh, super delicious with fancy presentation. I would highly recommend anyone to come here and give it at try. We will come here again and again.

As a parfait lover who has tried most of the well known parfait places in Tokyo, Takano fruit parlor is my current favorite. I had the specialty strawberry parfait and it was absolutely delicious– the perfect balance of strawberries, cream and everything else. Although it is a little bit pricey, I would highly recommend any parfait lovers to come here!

A great spot to chat with girl friends over fruits parfait. They have curry, pasta, and many things but you should order something with their fresh fruits. Taste: I know only fruits here but good. Price: Great for this location. Customer service: Good. Location: Perfect! When you get tired from shopping, come here. Also close to the station.

Takano fruit parlor is located underground as you exit Shinjuku station towards Kabukicho. Came here mere minutes before they closed and picked up a couple of fruit salads. Fresh fruit is so incredibly expensive in Japan, but I was craving it like crazy. They sweeten the fruit and add agar agar and fresh mint, so you’re not getting simply fruit. That could be a good thing for some, but I prefer just plain cut fruit. Three cups of fruit salad cost me about $ 15 if I recall correctly, which is a lot. Regardless, I would have loved to come back for their desserts. Just didn’t have enough time in Tokyo :-(

Might be biased since I’m from Taiwan, and Taiwanese fruits can’t be beat — but Takano had seriously let me down. I ordered a peach dessert along with a mango-pineapple trifle cake. The peach one was subpar, but the trifle was god awful. The mango was mushy and was darkening on the sides. The pineapple was sour. There was also this jelly thing on top which oddly tasted like sashimi… what?! Although this place has a pretty good reputation, I won’t be returning unless it’s for their winter menu(I’m sure they’re much better handling strawberries).

Fancy dessert and tea with a nice view of the city. located on the 5th floor… this is such a cute«hidden» gem. I came here tonight for dessert and tea… which set me back around $ 15. If you’re in the area and love dessert and you’re not on a budget, come here. There’s so many dessert places to choose from but I’m glad I came to Takano! Excellent service. I’m a fan. I actually came here to eat my last«meal» before leaving Japan with a bunch of my foreigner friends and honestly, we felt that it was worth the hype! Albeit pricey, Takano truly outperformed in every way and the only letdown of the meal was the extremely long line, which we waited in for approximately 35 minutes. If I remember correctly, our table had the following parfaits: mixed fruit(mine), melon, peach, and another sort of mixed fruit parfait? The prices were very high, ranging from 1300 — 1800 yen for the larger parfaits. We actually polished off our desserts within 15 minutes, paid, and left almost right away! It was definitely worth the amazing quality of fruit but we just didn’t feel like staying for too long since there was a huge line of people. We found it quite weird that there were several young women eating there alone while reading a book or a magazine. There was one young lady who was there when we first started lining up and by then time we paid, she had only finished half of her parfait!

Don’t know what the hype is about here. First off, there’s two areas: the ala carte area and the buffet area. I went to the ala carte area so I can’t really comment on the buffet section. I was a bit disappointed, the fruit parfait I wanted was part of a night special meaning it was only served from 6pm and on. BS. So I could order that parfait but not this parfait because it was still 5pm. Anyway, so I got the«all-day parfait»(made it up) and it came pretty quickly. Probably because fruits were already pre-cut. Fruits weren’t fresh and sweet. The fruit I get at my local supermarket tastes better. In my parfait was also milky soft serve, jelly, and anko or red beans. Soft serve was sweet and unique. Jelly and anko was kinda bad, but luckily the soft serve helped make it taste better. Overall I was pretty disappointed. When the soft serve is the highlight of a fruit parlor, you know something’s not right. Furthermore, the items are so overpriced. Ok, maybe I went at the wrong time, or maybe I got a bad batch of fruits, but I’ll let you be the judge of that. So check this place out and don’t let the hype get to you. If the place sucks, say it sucks, don’t follow the group. However I will give this place a second try by going after 6pm.

When you miss the taste of fruit, you should visit here. Basically only women can eat there and men accompanied by women only can enter the shop. This is a good excuse to ask a girl out! lol There are two choices; ‘parlor’ which is a café style and ‘bar’ which is all-you-can-eat. In Japan we call all-you-can-eat«Viking». I have tried the Viking style. There were other dishes besides fruit so I could have a light dinner and enjoy a lot of fruit. The webpage says you should make a reservation and that the seats are often full, but you still have chance. You can enter easily even without a reservation if you shoot for a time that is less crowded(like around 4 p.m.). Of course, that should be your last resort when you can’t reserve a seat.
