To date, the most perfect macaron I have ever tried, besting many others that are darned good. Sadaharu Aoki a close second. Couldn’t make it to Paris, though the last 6 months would have been a perfect time to have ventured across the Pond and take full advantage of the Euro Alas, no fear!!! Depachikas are here!!! Located in the basement level of Isetan depato, I had my pick of super fancy macarons. up to my ears on selection on just one floor! PH staff way too stuffy, asking me if I intend on eating them that night. Must keep inside the fridge, etc … Rules. Kirai! But the taste and the flavor for me were the best had. Macaron perfection!

It was during our first trip out to Tokyo that we were walking inside the Takashimaya department store in Tokyo that we noticed Pierre Herme. Little did we know how famous their macarons were and we didn’t stop by to try them until our second trip out. The only items we had time to try were their macarons though we really should’ve purchased some of their chocolates as well. As with everything else in Japan, these bad boys only have a shelf life of a few days . The macarons were tasty and these were probably in the top 3 I’ve ever had. The texture and flavors were awesome unlike ones I’ve had in LA. It’s amazing of all the goodies that are housed within the basements of almost all department stores in Japan.
