In Harajuku, where people think of crazy fashion and sweet crepes, there is a very cute Italian café called Café La Bohéme. It might be super noticeable, as they are located in the basement of a building, but it is worth the search. Look for a sign with a cute little white cat taking a nap on a fluffy chair right above the staircase going down. As soon as we walked in to the restaurant, it felt as if we were in a different country in different era. They designed the interior with a European theme from long ago, with Jazz music and brick wall décor. The second floor was designed as if it is a terrace of an old building, so we felt like we were sitting outside or courtyard, at late evening or night time, even though it was located all inside, and it was in the afternoon. The ambiance was just wonderful, amazingly beautiful, I couldn’t believe we were still right by Harajuku! We just got some tea and other drinks, and they were all very delicious! I would definitely go back to this café for more than just a drink next time, as I totally love the décor, ambiance, and all the drinks. The service was really nice as well, polite, tentative, and helpful. Read my full review of this restaurant and drinks on my food blog, foodlovergirl.

Came here to grab coffee and a sweet snack. We ordered an iced mocha, hot mocha, and a mascarpone cheese cake. The mochas were strong, without being overly sweet and matched harmoniously with the mascarpone cheese cake, which was SHEERHEAVEN. Home run on everything we ordered. Ambiance of the place was stellar. It’s beautiful on the inside, with a raised daïs surrounding the perimeter of the restaurant and a fun/cutsey catwalk that gets you from one daïs to the other. The waitress was a really cute Japanese girl who was as eager to practice her English as I was to practice my Japanese. Service was top-notch and she made us feel totally welcomed and waited our table flawlessly. The music was stellar as well. Neo-swing /classic New York 1950’s swing. We were so in love with the music we were moved to ask what CD was playing, but alas we were told it was the manager’s personal music playlist. Overall, a really great place all around!
