I visited Two Rooms on a date night with the hubby. The service is very accommodating and professional. Our glasses were never empty and there was nothing that we wanted for that was not instant. Very extensive drink list, which made the night all the more enjoyable. When we were done with our meal and ready to venture over to the other side, which was a bar area, the service staff found us a table and carried all of our belongings there for a seamless transition. Great outdoor seating area with a really nice view. Overall, it was a bit pricey for what we ordered, but the food was very good. The service, however, is what will make you come back to Two Rooms and its other restaurants. Also, very close to Omotesando train station making that a plus.

Amazing bar around the Omotesando area. Yi would not guess that this bar is within the building when you stand in front of it. Drink menu is standard with no spectacular creations. The view from the outside seating area is spectacular. Usually very crowded with a lot of western people. If you live in Tokyo it is a nice alternative to other venues.

I had a really great manhattan there… the bar scene was nice. I enjoyed the ambience on a Saturday night, it reminded me of bars in DC or NYC. The reason for the three stars is a rude host, who basically throw a menu down at us when the three of us were corralled to the bar while we waited for seating on the outdoor patio. But, he wasn’t just rude to our party, but others too. He just seemed a little too pushy and I really didn’t appreciate throwing the menu down in front of me and walking away. If you want to live up to the hype of your reputation Two Room, you can do better.

A for ambiance; B+ for food. This was our second time at 2 Rooms and we left satisfied after a nice lunch. We enjoyed some lovely(if slightly over-priced) Pacific oysters, along with an excellent pork fillet(my wife) and a steak sandwich(me). The steak sandwich came with some fried sweet potato fries and was one of the better steak sandwich I have ever had. So why not 5 stars? Like others have remarked, 2 Rooms serves very good food at fairly high prices. The food is consistently very good, but not great and as a customer, though I’ve enjoyed the experience both times; both times I’ve felt the food should have been a bit better for the price paid. After two visits over the last six months and little apparent change to the menu over that period, I’m not sure that we’ll return. Instead, the next time we’re inclined to spend over $ 100 for lunch, I think we will likely explore some of the areas other excellent restaurants.

Two Rooms is the kind of place that you want to give 5 stars because it makes you feel ultra classy, but… well, I’ll get to that later. The Sunday brunch set gives you the option of a First and Second, plus coffee or tea. We also added the brunch drinks course for ¥4000 which surprisingly does not include mimosas. No mimosas at brunch? What is this savagery! Seriously, though, if you want sparkling wine, apparently you need to request it 3 days in advance. Moving on, I was really looking forward to the Two Rooms Eggs Benedict. They give you the option of ham, salmon, or one of each. The portion size was plentiful, the smoked salmon was delectable, and the eggs were perfectly poached. But… the dish was drowned in sauce. And not just any sauce. When the dish first arrived, we thought it was made with Dijon mustard because the color was a nutty brown rather than the usual blonde Hollandaise, but it wasn’t mustard based, it was made with browned butter and a LOT of it. The dish was so rich, so heavy, I could barely finish just one of the eggs. It was a huge shame because I love Eggs Benedict. We ended up talking to the server and, eventually, the manager about it. The manager said that«other customers» have made the same complaint in the past, but«this is the Two Rooms way». And although the server had already taken the plate away with the other half of my food, I needed to pay an additional ¥500 for a small plate of fruit. The fruit was delicious, to be sure, but it’s a matter of principle!!! So, food = 5 stars. –0.5 stars for no mimosas –1 star for artery clogging Eggs Benedict –0.5 stars for«this is the Two Rooms way» Anyway, Two Rooms is the kind of place that you want to give 5 stars because it makes you feel ultra classy, but ultimately(and unfortunately!) the food doesn’t match the price point. Want brunch in Omotesando? Go to Beacon instead.

We had a very civilized brunch here on a cold and super snowy day. I stepped slightly out of my culinary comfort zone and ordered the brandade(a French provençale specialty of pureed salt cod typically served in winter) and found myself handsomely rewarded. Ever since sampling it at Two Rooms, I’ve been seeking out brandade on menus wherever I go. I also sampled their whimsical take on steak frites and found it a winner too, especially the truffle dijon they serve it with. The brunch set(¥3100) includes a choice of a first(fruit plate, soup, bircher museli) and a second(eggs benedict, French toast, pasta of the day) plus tea and coffee. To me, Two Rooms felt too fancy(white tablecloths, hushed atmosphere) to make it a regular brunch stop but is definitely worth considering for a special occasion.
