Cute tiny family operated location in the heart of the very busy shopping area of Gion. Traditional dishes each prepared with what is called a «modern» or international twist. Very tasty just different than expected yet a welcome respite.

There was a cockroach running around as my family and I were eating. The food was soggy and a bit too salty. The only reason we went in here was because my dad was really desperate for food and he looked at the pictures and was amazed. The only reason we ate the food was because he was hungry.

Solid 3 stars. Service: Decent, although the food came out a bit slow(there weren’t that many patrons when we were there, so the food should’ve come out at a timely manner) We were hungry and we walked around the Teramachi area to look for food. We passed by Mr. Young Men twice and decided to give it a try. Located in the Teramachi shopping arcade, Mr Young Men is the closest restaurant to Shijo Way. Note, this area is very touristy, but I personally think the food was fairly good(large portion!) and the prices were fair. They have a very extensive menu, but we decided to order the following: 1) Okonomiyaki/Yakisoba combo: 3.5÷5 stars(okonomiyaki was better!) A bit oily! 2) Cold Soba: 3⁄5 stars Note: They have an English menu if you ask them!(totally touristy!)

Located near one of the large entrances of Teramachi The name alone draws attention and then, who can resist okonomiyaki and yakisoba? Portions are quite large. I couldn’t decide between okonomiyaki and yakisoba so I went with the combo that was half-half. I guess the way to describe it would be delicious, salty, oily restaurant food. The space is small but tables can be put together to accommodate large parties.

Found in the Teramachi shopping arcade, Mr Young Men is the closest restaurant to Shijo Way. Considering that it’s in a tourist area, it looks like a hole in the wall. The menu is quite extensive with majority of the items being your classic Kansai and Japanese dishes(noodles, tofu, okonomiyaki). Everything here is quite reasonable and the portions are quite large. For under 1000 yen, I had the ‘All Green’ okonomiyaki(my photo). It looks ‘not so good,’ but it was good. With a lot of vegetables, the AGO was covered with sauce(mayo based). If you’re walking around Shijo and you need a quick and cheap lunch, check out Mr. Young Men. Good for: lunch, tourists
