Maybe I just don’t get Okonomiyaki. Or maybe I picked the wrong place to try my first one, but the two we tried here were just ok and nothing to get excited about. The scallion and pork one was a bit more interesting but really depended on the quality of the green onion. I thought the pork was a pit odd and didn’t really add anything. Took me awhile to figure out it was sliced very thin. I almost thought it was the crust of the Pancake. We also had a mushroom one (we think) that was too bland for our taste. Not very mushroomy.
I do like the idea of a savory pancake but maybe I need some in the know to take to to a place, who will show me the inns and out of this dish to show me why people go crazy foe these things. But this place is just ok.
