Shirokuro, located one street beyond the Shotengai, and behind the Oakwood would probably be described as «o-sha-re», or stylish, by my local friends. That’s true, as there is an undeniable artistic essence to the place. But the morning menu is limited to a couple kinds of tea, and just espresso, latte and American coffee. (Hot & Ice) There isn’t much to snack on either, save for a couple of sweets, but that doesn’t appear to be of concern to the management. The shop also sells nifty Japanese plates and dining essentials, if you are in the market. From 7pm Shirokuro turns into a bar called Lattest, so perhaps I’ll give it another look at some stage. The upside here is that it is quiet. But the stylish seating is not comfortable. Good coffee … Just not a place to eat or sit for a while.
