So in typical gaijin fashion, I added a business that was already there, so I reposted my pics under the first(Japanese) establishment — this one. I am one who can admit when I make an oops. Anyhow… Wandering Azubujuban is awesome! There are so many cafes(dog friendly, too) and bars that you have a myriad to choose from. Era, however, stands out because it’s not fancy. It’s a bit of a colorful dive, but the food is oh so fresh! We had reservations for dinner, so just had a sampling of appetizers. The service itself was enough to sell me. The tuna was so fresh and delicious! There are tanks of live seafood and the fresh catches were stored in a fridge in the front. Prices were so reasonable for the amount and the quality of the food. I will go back for a huge sushi platter when I don’t have scheduled dinner plans. The servers/chefs were super friendly and helpful. English menu: yes! Japanese charm! Indeed! Score.

Despite of being located in posh neighborhood like Azabujuban, this place offers delicious seafood with very reasonable price. I’m such a sucker to this«Japanese fishing village» like atmosphere this place has. And make no disappointments, their selections of fish is always fresh and tasty. And always carry seasonal fish that makes me intrigued. Also quite educational to learn which fish is available which season. Never knew I’d learn biology here. Staffs are very energetic and polite but not overwhelming. They keep fine balance of that. As said, I never had to wait for the table. Maybe 5 min at max. And it’s very convenient if you are with the group of more than 4. Maybe I got lucked out but I always get table despite of coming with large group of people. Sashimi is, needless to say, delicious. But my usuals are — takoyaki no karaage(fried octopus) — Bikkuri tekkamaki(large tuna role) — Erakokyu salad(big bowl of salad with loads of sashimi) — Maguro no kamayaki(Grilled tuna jaw, it’s huuuuge!) Have a try at them. You’ll probably like them.
