If I could give 10 stars Yokota would get them! Yokota is the stuff that dreams are made of… At least my dreams! Where to start… first off, yes it is pricey. 15,000 yen per head omakase. It is worth every penny… Ahem, I mean yen. So on to the dreamy part… The chef is like a God delivering delights to his most cherished creations. Each course is amazing and leaves you wanting just one more piece, then you get the next surprise, on and on this goes until that sad moment that it stops and then you have a choice between Tendon and something else. I got the Tendon which on its own would have been great but following the tempura it felt like a consolation prize because my God had forsaken me and will no longer shower me with gifts from the garden of Eden. It all ends with some amazing sorbet and you awaken from the fantasy and realize that Tempura has been ruined for you for the rest of your mortal existence.

Yokota has been one of the tempura restaurant I have been wanting to try out for quite a while. Getting here is not easy do some research before you head. However, going there is part of the fun so I’m not going to give you any hints. It’s all part of the experience, right? I have to say my favourite was their anago. The tempura batter is ever so light but still crunchy on the outside. The anago itself was huge, tender and soft. The chef is a no-bullshit kind of guy so don’t be late and do as you’re told. Remember, when in Rome …
