If you want to enjoy a quality Japanese style grilled fish lunch, this is the place. LUNCHPRICE: 1,000 Yen(Saba Shioyaki) The name of this establishment is confusing. Their business card and receipt has the name«GINKA» in big letters with a small stamp like design that reads«Anbai». However, the sign outside reads«Anbai» only. BUILDING: Outside, they have a showcase selling slices of uncooked fish for take out. Inside, there are 3 tables and a counter that seats 5 people. Small place, but acceptable. FOOD: «Hiraki» means fish opened up. Gut is taken out, salted, and dried for preservation. When cooked over fire, which they do skillfully here, the fish revives its juiciness and the salt makes it very favorable. Note that you are not looking for«freshness» here, since«hiraki» is an aging process. RICE: Ironically, the reason I frequent this place is not so much for their fish, but for their white rice. It is cooked in their hot pot and tastes SOGOOD. Their miso soup is also perfectly done. OVERALL: I prefer this place over Takishita( …) which is across the street. Price is cheaper here and most of all, I like the people here more. They are much more warm and personable compared to Takishita.
