It was a great moment in this cute little coffee/restaurant. The bagels and the drinks are delicious and healthy. I advise you the fresh juice!!! The waitress are really polite and smiling. It’s a really nice place to take a breakfast or just a coffee

My favorite bagels & beans in Amsterdam. I live at the student area at houthavens so also the closest place to get a decent breakfast. There sure is more places to go but this is my favorite :-) Never too busy, so you can have conversations at a normal sound level so you dont have to force yourself not to(very pleasant!) The waiters are very friendly and service is good, quick and not pushy or ‘exaggerated’ friendly. The coffee is REALLY yummy, my big latte was creamy and delicious; a perfect wake up medicin! My husband’s mochaccino was the best he ever had(he’s American) SORRYSTARBUCKS!!! *evil grin* Ofcourse; the food is perfect! I am not really a fancy bagel person, so the regular ones are heaven for me :-) Their portions jam are double of what most b&gs give out! Yay! My husband’s toasted ham&cheese with tomatoes was a real treat for the tastebuds according to him.

On our first morning in Amsterdam, my main requirement was coffee… so our couchsurfing host was kind enough to point us in the direction of the closest place: Bagels & Beans. When we came here, we were immediately greeted and helped, which was exactly what should happen at a place like this. We got a coffee and two bagels to go, which came out to around 9 euros. The coffee itself — although I’d been warned was not great — was actually pretty decent. The bagels themselves were pretty unremarkable, but the toppings were good. I got the hummus bagel, which surprised me with also having cucumber and tomato on it. My boyfriend got cream cheese and jam on his, and seemed to enjoy it as well. Though we got our food to go, a quick glimpse around the café showed that it had plenty of seating — inside and out — as well as free wifi. The menu selections were somewhat unique too — lots of breakfast-y foods mostly. There is a slight corporate kind of feeling to the organization of everything, but Bagels & Beans still managed to give off a laid-back, welcoming vibe.
