Not all that. I was expecting fresh pressed tortillas like the outdoor stands. The tacos were to salty. And the beans too bland. I really don’t understand all the 5 star reviews. I guess yucca valley residents don’t go out of town much. I just put this food in the trash. There’s nothing special here.

I was a little hesitant to try this place based on the fact that it’s located in a grocery store — but wow am I glad I did. Very good, authentic Mexican food!

Just gets better. Makes the local Del Taco franchise look like crap. Everything hot and fresh. Salsa is a bit hot but delicious!

I wouldn’t drive all the way to Yucca Valley just for a burrito — or would I? The taco shop in the back of Kasa Carniceria is everything you’d like the lunch counter in the back of a Mexican grocery store to be. I oped for a chile verde burrito, and it was very good — lots of pork, covered by a nice green sauce and cheese. It probably wasn’t the best chile verde I’ve ever had, but it was really good. David had a shredded beef burrito and he liked it a lot as well. The menu is extensive for a small taco shop, including combo plates and breakfast items. Small but nice seating area, nice people. This is a great stop on your way to Joshua Tree or any other time.

Food — 4 Service — 5 Value — 5 Authentic tasting Mexican food at a great price. I enjoyed the carne asada torta, and my wife got the al pastor and carnitas which both paired well together.

THEBESTMEXICANFOODINTOWN!!! I used to get TWO California burritos EVERY Friday like clockwork when i lived in Yucca. They are so delicious. The fries are crispity-crunchety and the meat is savory then add amazing rice and beans. The overall texture experience is always on point. And they are super nice. I’ve gotta learn Spanish cuz I can see myself chilling here and eating with them all day!

So thankful for the Unilocal reviews that led us here. We ordered tacos and a tamale platter for lunch and it was just the right thing to greet us as we entered Joshua Tree.

This place is awesome! Located inside a market, with totally reasonable prices and great authentic products, right at the back. We had the three taquitos combo and the three tacos combo, with jarritos(tamarind and mango). The cashier was friendly and one of the cooks brought our food right out to us. It was delicious, fast and well-priced! We will definitely be back during our time in the Yucca Valley!

Fantastic vegetarian entries with extremely fresh ingredients. Had Mexican burritoes and veggie tacos. My mom typically does not enjoy Mexican food but she tried and liked much. At first this place does not look welcoming from outside as such but inside is pretty nice.

Pretty good! Good stop on our way to Joshua Tree. It’s inside of a grocery store. We got carne asada plate, chix tamales and beef tongue tacos. The carne asada was a bit salty but good paired with rice, lettuce and tomatoes. Tamales we pretty good and my boyfriend liked his tacos.

Not great. Honestly if the cane Asada didn’t look like it was 5 days old it would have been great. Tameles seemed like they were made yesterday not today. Once they sit overnight they get dry and gross. I feel like they used old dry pork too. The cheese and jalapeño was really good but like i said probably made yesterday at best

2 stars but I would give this place another try. Here’s why… I’m pretty sure my Hubble and I ordered the worst thing they have, ahem, carne asada! So disappointing, boo. But the tamales were not bad, onion rings were fine. Their salsa bar is eh. I do have to say, I am pretty spoiled when it comes to my experience with cheap mexi food so since my bar is high and there’s not many options out here, I may find myself back to grab a quesadilla. Maybe.

Best California Burrito in my life. Like ever. Lived in California my while life and this, this is THE burrito. I hate cilantro and they don’t make me feel bad for asking for a burrito without it. That’s nice not a lot of places do that. I wish i could give them 10 stars. Nice staff, nice store and a clean smell. Cleanest carniceria ever.

Fantastic huevos rancheros. Perfectly cooked eggs. Just enough food to be full but not overly stuffed. Their prices are very reasonable too. Try the meat market on your way out. You can definitely find something to put on the grill here.

Great mexican food for low price. We went there beacause of Unilocal recomendations and didn’t regret it. I had awesome taco with beef and second(less flavoury but still great) with pork. They could add more cilantro but maybe this is beacause I love cilantro! :) my boyfriend absolutely loved his pork burrito. I would come back here again if I only lived somwhere near.

Parking is in the back so you have to drive to the other side of the building and not park next to the Chinese restaurant in the front like we did. If not you will end up walking through the entire grocery store before you get to the restaurant in the back like we did. The Good — Its Cheap — The food was pretty good. I recommend the tacos. Fish was probably my favorite. Any of their meats was decent. We were passing through town and compared to Los Angeles, its not the best but for the area its great. — People were friendly — They take credit cards The Bad — Its a very small location and its in the back of a supermarket so not the fanciest of places to go but it did the job and we were happy.

You know you are in the right place when the locals know the staff by name. And you know it’s real Mexican food when your tacos come with frijoles a la olla on top. Its in a grocery store– so easy to miss. But there’s an entrance to the Taqueria around back– with a parking lot. Its across the street from some uhauls and a bbq joint. The service is great but if you pick up a drink or beer on the way back, be sure to pay up front first. The hot salsa is very very hot –a teaspoon will be more than enough for those of us who crave heat with our meal. I told them they should have a sign. I overdid it. The carniceria is for realz! Just like Mexico. Very authentic all the way around. Butcher greeted me in Spanish before I realized the Taqueria was behind the store, next to the butcher. There was a baseball game on when I went, it’s a small dining room, mostly tables of two. And a big US and Mexican flag on the wall next to each other. Not only local white folks but local Mexicanos too– so I was sold right there. Reminded me of San Diego. Small town feel.
