Went in yesterday to get a cut & color from michelle. Since she had curly hair like me I thought I would be in good hands. She was extremely sweet and nice to work with. I like the color she put in my hair but the cut I got breaks my heart. She did not listen to a word I said when describing what I wanted. A trim. I have bangs and choppy layers… the shelf look or mushroom head if you will. not cute. be careful.

My five stars are for Jenn. This salon itself isn’t necessarily my favorite place, but her sunny, silly, sincere disposition and thoughtful brilliance in hair color is why I consistently return.
Bet she won’t see this. She doesn’t even do facebook. I’ll screen shot it for her then. Yes, I was talking to myself out loud.
By the way, I tried going to Supercuts last month because I didn’t plan well, and they were going to charge me even more for who knows what. (I said thanks anyway, I’ll wait for Jenn.)

Jenn! I read the reviews on Unilocal and decided to try her. Best decision I’ve made, I’ve been going to her for almost a year now and have never been disappointed. She is great with color and styling, plus her happy cheerful personality make it a great experience. Just love her, so glad I found her. You won’t be disappointed.

Rather than simply admit he couldn’t put layers in long, perfectly straight hair, Frank had a hissy fit and kicked my daughter and I out of his salon and then he threatened to fire anyone in the salon who might have helped to make her hair right. After paying $ 80 and making two trips to the salon, I got to watch my daughter be bullied to tears.

Worst eyelash experience ever. I was referred to Kimmy Eyelash about a month ago from a friend (who no longer uses their services either). At first I loved the lashes but after a few re fills I noticed they weren’t looking as full. I had been going to Joe who was glueing the lashes to my lash line (skin) and not just on the lash which would explain the itching of my lash line and the burning of eyes every time I would get water on face. He was also stacking the lashes and many of them were glued and clumped together. And instead of letting me know that I needed a new set, he continued to glue the lashes on top of each other. I will never come back here again and am happy to have found someone who actually cares about the health of my natural lashes. I wouldn’t recommend going here but if you do be sure you book with Kimmy and not Joe.

Julie is the stylist I see @ Hairlab. She does a wonderful job, and while I have so much hair that appears to always lay just right, the truth is, I have a wave pattern that makes it very difficult to cut it «just right.» Just ask Julie… she knows… but then, Julie does her magic and makes my hair just perfect. She’s thorough, won’t settle for «almost right,» and she listens to whatever concerns I have at the time.
The first time I saw her, my hair had been butchered by another stylist, who didn’t know when to stop with the thinning, or layering, I guess. It had been completely ruined, but Julie went through my hair strand by strand, deciding how best to remedy the situation. It took her over two hours, but she did a phenomenal job, and I’ve been going back to her ever since.
I always worry that whenever I find a stylist I really like that they’ll leave, but thank goodness, Julie is here to stay… and I’m here to stay with HER.

This was my first time at Hair Lab.. I booked an appointment with Sophie, she is an amazing woman who knows what she is doing and can tell you what you need done. I got a cut, color and highlights. She took her patience doing my hair. This woman has years working in this field and her job speaks very high about her. I left this place very satisfied. I will come back again!!!

Jess is so wonderful to talk to and her gels last 4 weeks! But you’ll want to go back before that just because it’s fun and she does great designs. Designs are included in the price! BONUS!

Michelle definitely knows what she’s doing! I had a great time getting to know her and an even better time looking in the mirror when she was finished cutting/​styling me. I have curly hair so it can be crazy nerve wracking to offer my locks to the anyone. I am definitely come back né t time I cut my hair.
Lovely atmosphere. They had all kinds of goodies to eat and drink. I likes the products and headmassage.

1^st time at this location but I knew Jessica from her previous place of work Trinity Salon:) Nice and clean salon, free parking at hair lab designated parking spots to avoid towing of your vehicle. Jessica is truly professional and friendly, great place to be pampered:)

Hi heard about Kimmie Eyelashes through a friend and here I am IN LOVE WITH MY LASHES!!!

I’ve been going to Mary for 8 – 9 years and even though I moved about 45 min to an hour away, I will only go to her for my hair. She always knows exactly how I want my hair to look when it comes to the cut and color and I’ve always left happy!

I’ve come here several times — sometimes scheduling ahead but normally in a pinch or time crunch. They’ve fit me in each time & adjusted for me. I’ve had a different stylist all times but each of them were kind, sweet & did an awesome job. I had a wash & blow dry. They offer water, tea, coffee and snacks. They have magazines & are accommodating. Once I came before an event & only had 15 min so they styled it quickly into beautiful curls… I was so grateful. I will definitely continue coming back!

Just had my hair done by Cassie… Wow… She did a color makeover, cut, and blow-​dry, my hair is amazing, I had a baby 1 year ago, and she gave me the pick me up I needed. Ask for Cassie

I had a masquerade themed birthday to attend and called last minute on a Saturday. Carol, the owner, squeezed me in for hair with Maria and make-​up with her. I was so grateful.
Maria curled and styled my hair. She was super nice. She did take a little longer than anticipated, but it was because she was being thorough and making sure every curl was executed properly!
Carol’s makeup job was AWESOME! She also put lashes and was done in under 45 minutes.
Very reasonable price, nice atmosphere, and quality work. Can’t ask for more from a local and convenient salon.
(I’ve also been getting waxed by Carol for about 10 years now and she is great at her craft) Highly Recommend

DO NOT GO HERE IF YOU HAVE CURLY HAIR. They are extremely nice and to their credit they tried very hard. But they clearly do not know how to work with curls.
Curls have to be moisturized or you will be left w a frizzy disaster. They should be cut dry, b/​c the curls loose length when they dry and you loose control of the cut. Combing will destroy the curls and create frizz. Although I asked if they could handle curls before I went in (their website says they are experts), and II asked them to cut dry, not comb out the curls, etc, they broke every rule. When I left, my hair was a wreck. It was cut unevenly, with a hole in the back, with the overall effect being a bad 80s haircut with enough frizz that I looked like I had been electrocuted. I was heading over to a friend’s, and on the way stopped to buy moisturizer. Even after soaking my hair, it took weeks to recover from the damage Hairlab did. And it took months before my hair grew out enough to fix the bad cut.
Try Capella Salon in Studio City instead if you have curls. Well worth the drive!

Karina. Karina. Karina. That’s the stylist you want if you care about your hair. Her attention to detail is exquisite. She did exactly what I asked for and more. She also put an expensive hydrating conditioner in my hair because my hair is so dry (for free). She knows what she’s talking about and highly educated in hair styling and waxing etc. She answered all my questions perfectly and gave me an affordable cut and blow dry. Plus she’s really funny and easy to talk to. Thank you Karina, I love my hair and I’ll see you soon girl! –Lauren

Wow this place is AMAZING! Very clean and quit for a salon. The girl who cut my hair was the BEST, I highly recommend her. Jen Escovedo.
I didn’t even tell her how I wanted my hair cut. I left it up to her and let me tell you, I have been complimented left and right. This is my new spot

Tim has been cutting my hair for over 20 years now! I adore him and have always gotten great service.
Mary has been cutting my children’s hair, they both have really long hair and she takes awesome care of them!
