I first saw Luu because I got a Groupon for microdermabrasion and LED light. My skin is in pretty good condition except for some acne scarring and occasional breakouts, and I wear face makeup daily because of this. She is very friendly and informative, if you want a tranquil and quiet facial I wouldnt go here because Luu loves to chat with you. I ended up adding the Hydrafacial to my treatment and have since been back once more for the same package. My skin glows for a week after the facial and morever my breakouts and pigmented skin are targeted which have in the past taken too long to go away. I highly recommend the Hydrafacial.

A couple of years after my first review, I feel an update is in order! I continue to see Luu for hair and skin treatments and continue to be completely satisfied with her services and products. The Brazilian Blow Out and skin Wellness Package are my favorites along with the products I use at home for maintenance.
I think of Luu every time I receive a compliment about how healthy my hair and skin look.

Lulu is a sweetheart! She gave my teenager daughter a Micro Derm facial with blue light and my daughter couldn’t be happier with the results. Lulu educated my teenage daughter on how to care for her skin and gave her skin care treatment samples for her to try at home. We were very happy with not only the service but with Lulu! We will be coming back for regular facials.

Great facial! Miss Luu is fantastic in removing acne scars and dark marks! Excellent facial! I will definitely be back! I received her groupon deal and upgraded to a hydra facial. It’s totally worth it! Do both not just the groupon! Make sure you’re clear with what you want though, at first I didn’t know she was doing the upgrade. But now I’m so happy she did it! It’s totally worth it! She does talk a lot but it’s to explain everything she’s doing, which is refreshing to me just one treatment and all my dark marks have tremendously faded! Good for darker skin tones as well! A lot of people don’t know that darker skin is sensitive too! But she knew exactly what to do! I’ll be back soon’

I came here for microdermabrasion through Groupon. Luu is so wonderful. She is sweet and informative. She walked me through every step of my procedure. Great products were used and the vibe was very relaxing. I well definitely cone back.

Luu is the best at what she does! I went to her the first time for a color correction and she did an amazing job fixing my blonde, so I had to keep coming back! I also see her once a month for my blonde highlights and the HydraFacial Skin Resurfacing facial because she briefly mentioned she handled skin care, and it has done wonders! There are many other reasons I go to Luu, but I highly recommend her for your hair and skin needs because she is very open and honest about the products she uses and can recommend for you. Won’t be going anywhere else anytime soon! Think she does it mostly through appointment only?!

I saw an internet special Luu had for a facial. I was particularly interested in the LED treatments that she offered, however, I needed more information. I called her and chatted about the benefits, treatment details and the cost. I asked her which machine she used and was very evasive. She said «I’m busy now. You can look on my website». I was about to tell her that although I read her site carefully it did not offer that information, but she hung up on me. Wow! I guess I won’t be going there. Maybe she has something to hide, just rude, or lazy? Not sure.

I purchased a living social deal for a microderm and light therapy at luu’s and had my appointment today. Luu is amazing! I love how she explains everything to you and really focuses on your problem areas. I added the peel to my microderm and my face feels fantastic!. Yes, she is chatty which is perfectly fine with me. I can’t wait to go back for more and add the hydro facial. I would definitely recommend seeing luu.

and decided to give her a try as I was in search of a new provider. My previous person had moved away. I am now a loyal follower or Luu and absolutely love her salon and service. She is very through and explains what she is doing every stop of the way. The peels are organic and the microderm abrasion is top notch. The ultimate compliment that I received from my other facialist as I do still have traditional facials every once in a while was «whatever you have been doing — keep it up as I can find very little to remove from your skin». Luu’s products and results are definitely worth every dime and I will keep going back!

Luu is absolutely the best!
I have bought SEVERAL microdermabrasion treatments on Amazon local so I know the difference in different salons and the effects of their treatments, and I have to say that so far Luu’s is the best. I bought her deal as 3 microderms with LED light treatments, and they were great. In addition to that, she is willing to work with people on giving discounts to let them try other products of hers so that they can see if they like them. This is exactly how using Amazon Local or Groupon should work. It should get new people in your salon, and enchant them with your services to create return clientele!
Luu is very friendly, she explains ABSOLUTELY everything that she does. She is also very thorough. Most places that you will go for the Microdermabrasion will barely touch your skin with the machine, and the treatment is done nearly as quickly as it began; most certainly taking less than five minutes! Luu is VERY thorough. She is certain to cover each area of your face, and then spends even further attention on those areas that you mention as your ‘problem’ areas, be it hyper-​pigmentation, blackheads, acne scars, etc. She is the one person I have gone to for this treatment where I felt the difference was noticeable even on the same day. **ALSO**, she does her peel before she does the microderm abrasion. Having this done both ways, I happen to know this is better. Doing the peel first helps to soften the skin so that the micro is more effective. ALSO, if you do it in reverse order, since the micro lifts off the first layer of skin, the peel can chemically burn the skin that is now at the surface… which can lead to more hyper-​pigmentation or even scarring depending on your skin. Other salons do this and don’t even realize it! Luu knows the peel is to be done first, and even has various flyers that you can read to detail the procedures she does. As mentioned by another review, she is also very thorough on explaining each product or machine that she uses on you, and has never pushed products. She does like to send her clients home with samples so that you can decide for yourself if you like certain products, but even then she takes great care to only suggest what is needed for your situation.
The person who did a two star review… first of all I can tell you that her prices are very reasonable compared to the handful of places I have been to, as well as many other locations that I have checked out online based on Amazon Local deals. Furthermore she is willing to negotiate her prices depending on her clientele’s needs. She clearly cares for a return relationship with her clients. Also, she is chatty, but in large part she merely describes EVERY aspect of what she is doing to your skin, which I feel is very good for business and comforting to know that she is not hiding anything about the services that she is giving. She does not delve into your private life, on the other hand. So there is ‘chatty’ and there is ‘inquiring’. She is actually neither. I would rather call her very ‘informative’.
I would also say that if you want to know true reviews, go view the reviews that have been filtered! They are very accurate in their statements. They have been filtered because Luu refuses to pay $ 300-​$ 1000/​year as a ‘yelp sponsored business’, so as a punishment Unilocal filters out all of her good reviews (which having been to her salon several times, they are very accurate. She is great!) Shame on you, Unilocal!Misleading people that come to your site by filtering accurate, honest reviews like that.
Pros:

— Very thorough in her treatments (focuses on areas YOU are concerned with)
— Does first peel, then micro. (the order matters!)
— Very informative (explains everything done in detail)
— Very friendly
— So far, the most effective treatment I have gotten at several local salons.
— Willing to let her clientele try her products for free. Why buy it if you don’t like it!!!
— Nice and clean shop, uses all new and very clean products in your treatment.
Cons:
— Far from my house
— It would only be nicer if it was more of a spa environment, with massages LOL. But neither her website nor the Amazon Local deal that I bought said it was a spa, so I was not disappointed in the least at this regard.

I went to Lu’s today for a microdermabrasion treatment thru an Amazon Local deal.
Pros:
1. Luu is very friendly and chatty
2. She did a very thorough job with the microdermabrasion and concentrated on problem areas
3. She explained how everything worked and what she was doing
4. She gave me a sample to try and did not try to push the sale of products
Cons:
1. The voucher stated that it would be for a «Microdermabrasion Facial» so I was expecting a facial with a microdermabrasion treatment-​however, it was just microdermabrasion
2. Her shop is very small and not spa like
3. The regular price is $ 125 for a microdermabrasion treatment when most places charge $ 65 and up

I went to Luu’s to get a face peel and also a microdermabrasion treatment.
First off, she was so sweet and nice. Great customer service!
I don’t have much acne or anything on my face just blackheads but still wanted something to just brighten up my skin. She looked at my face & since I don’t have a whole lot on it she decided for me which peel would be best.
I really like that she actually cares about your face & skin, she’s not just trying to up sell you products and say «you need this or that»
I also really liked that she gave me a brochure and let me read about the product as she was waiting to wash the peel off.
ALSO! everything is organic, no chemicals! so that was a major plus.
After the peel, she did the microdermabrasion, which left me completely amazed.
My problem has always been blackheads & lots of them around my nose.
I looked in the mirror before she did it & then after, they’re like completely gone.
I love how my nose looks and the way my face feels.
&& to top it off, she has this cream like stuff, I believe it’s called 5% acne.
I had a break out and she put a little on the pimple before I left, I woke up in the morning and the pimple was almost gone! You could barley see it.
I plan on putting some more on tonight, I’m almost positive it’ll be gone tomorrow.
Great place, super friendly, clean, she’s great! love her.

This place will be better if she will stop talking too much. Also the facial is not really that good for the price.

I came to Luus Hair Design and Skin Care to fix the dark circles and bags under my eyes, she gave me Hydoxy peels, Microdemabrasion, Lymphatic drainage treatments, Hydra facial, Light (LED) therapy, and they all are non resurfacing skin rejuvenation treatments. Right after it was done, I saw the results right away, I looked younger and my skin became tighter, also my wrinkle lines were improved. These treatments are incredible! so I’m going to continue them on a regular basis.

Luu is such a friendly, happy person and really makes me feel comfortable. Her shop is extremely clean but homey. Luu is very knowledgeable about the products she uses. She always explains the ingredients and the processes she is using in the facials.
Besides all of this, her prices are very reasonable!

After moving to LA I tried a couple of hair stylists, the last one ruined my hair with the bleach instead of the haircolor I was insisting on. Haircut was the worst I ever had (and I have short hair, so it’s a challenge to fix it) Luu brought my hair back to life. Plus she is a very positive person.
