West End Coffeehouse

Very good cold brew. Seating is a little cluttered but they don’t have a lot of space. Main demerit is that parking would be difficult on a weekday, although they have five 30 minute spaces out front. A good place to chill and recharge before going to the Dash game.

I fell in love with this place the second I walked in! The environment is so warm and if I’m ever around I will on impulse walk into this store. Zaria made me feel like more than a customer! She made me feel like a friend! xo

This is our go-​to gelato/​coffee/​wine/​beer place in W-​S. We have been coming here for years and have never been disappointed. The gelato is hand crafted in store and offers classic flavors as well as rotating array of unique offerings — sangria, peach mango habanero, rosemary lemon etc. They also offer other fantastic gelato creations — brownie sundaes, affogato (coffee & gelato) and Krispy Kreme doughnuts stuffed with gelato! (a true W-​S special)! There are also great ice pops/​paletas available in amazing flavors: blueberry cardamom, key lime, blackberry & yogurt, or perhaps cucumber and mint to refresh yourself on a hot day?
If it 20 degrees outside step inside and enjoy a hot coffee (or late, or another specialty coffee) and get the kiddos some hot chocolate! Plus they have cakes, cookies and other baked goods if a cold dessert sounds just too cold.
But in all honesty this is the ultimate compromise destination for us as it offers treats for the whole family — Wine/​Beer for the adults and sweets for the kids! Plus you can buy wine and beer to take home!

So normally I wait a day or two to gather my thoughts before writing my review. As I write this one, I’m sitting in West End Coffee just totally impressed with the quality of products! The coffee, I got the medium roast, is quite possibly the best roast in town! You’ll be hard pressed to go to any other independent coffee house in the Triad and find a better roasted blend! I had to sample the Brownie Sundae after seeing the pics that everyone had posted. The brownie was very large and quite fresh! After being slightly heated, and then topped with a generous portion of their house made sweet cream gelato, then covered in sweet cream, I was in sweet creation heaven! The gelato was to die for, and without question it was evident that it’s made on the premise! Their location is nice and the fact that they stay open til later at night is a bonus for those who are looking for something sweet after dinner! West End certainly exceeded my expectations, and I can’t wait to visit them again!
My second visit left me equally impressed! The coffee is just excellent, and the brownies are just superb! After sampling a cake from Cheesecake by Alex, sampling some wine, and listening to some live music, I was left with thinking how this place could be any better!
I just don’t care anymore! I mean they don’t, so why should I? Let me explain. I attempted to visit West End Coffee this past weekend, after having horrible coffee at a nearby breakfast spot in downtown Winston. I pulled up 45 minutes after the advertised opening. Only to find the doors locked! Lights were on, and someone inside «prepping» I assume for opening! You sell coffee! Your limited dessert options are brought in from a bakery in High Point. As much as I love their coffee, and appreciate the desserts from that bakery, I’m just so disappointed in small local businesses as these! Opening at 8am on a week day is not good for business as it is, but at least on a weekend if you’re opening at 8am be a little more prompt! We are constantly told in advertisement to support these small businesses, but they really don’t do a lot to gain our support and keep it!

Barista made our order incorrectly but quickly corrected the order. The coffee was good, the chocolate in the espresso was warm and creamy. The chocolate chip cookies were delicious. Very quiet atmosphere.

Stopped in one cold Sunday afternoon with my boyfriend for a coffee fix. He got a cup of coffee and I had a holiday drink made with white chocolate, amaretto, and raspberry. It was absolutely delicious. And the barista was friendly and patient while I was trying to decide and oogling all the baked goodies. Need to get back soon for some gelato!

Quiet Wednesday night, so we had the place to ourselves, a very nice gentleman brewed me a Chai tea and heated up a berry strudel. Both hit the spot. My little one enjoyed the holiday decorations and books. We’ll be back

Nice happy place… coffee, wine, bakery, gelato!.. great place to hang out. couches, tables/​chairs, friendly staff and great music.

The counter lady was rude to our guests. I used to love this placed but recent changes have seen it go down hill. Will not be back again.

Bacon maple latte is good– the coffee itself tastes good, which is a plus. They have a ton of syrups– unusual ones like rose– great in a french soda. They have gelato– my fave is pbutter and jelly. Staff is nice. They also have wine and board games, neither have I tried.

Can I just say, WOW?! It seems like this place was created just for me. I love everything about it. Gelato, colossal brownies and coffee cakes, delicious coffee beverages, wine, and beer. Does it get much better?
I tried a couple of different gelato flavors before I decided on Orange with chocolate. It rocked my socks. I also ordered a double shot of espresso with one pump of the red velvet syrup. It was smooth and strong, just like a shot of espresso should be. My sister ordered the cold brewed iced coffee and a piece of coffee cake. All of this together was less than $ 12! The prices are amazing too!
The young lady working was perfectly personable and informative. She bragged on the new owners. I think if the employees can be happy, that translates down to the customers.
Overall, an awesome place to hang out. I’ll definitely be returning!

Only been here one time but had a great experience. A lot of choices to choose from and the staff is friendly and helpful.

Get the Affogato. For real. Soooo good. 2 shots espresso, 2 scoops gelato, a full cup of happiness. The lovely employee tonight also topped it with whipped cream, chocolate, and caramel sauce because that’s how she likes it and it was delicious. It was also nice that the owners remembered me from last time I was in, even though it had been a while, and they recalled that too. Nice folks.

You really can’t go wrong at West End Coffeehouse! From gelato, to baked treats, coffee, to lunch options they have it all. I know they also have French soda but I haven’t gotten around to trying that out yet. Oh yea and wine and beer!
The cider is really good as well as their eggnog latte. They also have every latte flavor you can pretty much think of. The gelato flavors vary but I can’t get over the peanut butter and jelly gelato, so tasty I could eat that everyday. On Friday’s they do wine tastings and when it is nice they usually have music on their patios. Although I haven’t tried them myself there they do carry the Kitchen Roselli cream puffs (that are actually eclairs in a circle) on Friday’s. Definitely worth a try!
Although they don’t have their own parking lot I never have a problem finding parking. There is a 30 minute loading zone parking area in the front of the building if you just want to run in and grab something and plenty of parking right by them on fourth street for a longer stay.

I finally came back here after the Elite event in October!
I came on a Sunday afternoon after going to yoga and before I got here I was a bit worried I wouldn’t find parking.
I parked in the tow-​lot across the street but I doubted they actively towed there on Sundays. My car was still there so I guess I was right.
The shop had a few other customers inside and it was easier to see everything during the day. I noticed that they had several equality stickers on the front door, which made it seem welcoming and inclusive.
Inside it was bright, cheery, and clean. There was one barista working and she was super friendly. We brought our cat, Richard, and he was welcomed.
I got a small gelato mix of peppermint and cheerwine. They actually tasted incredible together. Tori seemed to enjoy her espresso shot and we got a pint of the lemon ginger gelato to go.
The experience was pleasant for a Sunday afternoon. I definitely will stop by again. I am dying to try their pimento sandwich lunch special sometime during the week!

Great coffee. Great coffee drinks. Locally sourced. Awesome gelato. My kids favorite. On Fridays come get a Kitchen Roselli cream puff and you’ll be so happy.

I’m here almost every business day and sometimes twice a day. Place is in easy walking distance from where I work.
So obviously they have coffee, lattes, cappuccinos, etc. However the star of the place is the gelato. Lots of gelato flavors to choose from.
Also don’t miss on the sandwiches, pastries, cakes and cookies. They got wine to (glass and bottle) once the business day ends.
Highly recommend. The owners and staff here are great and super friendly.

New Owner New Name for this Shop that was formerly known as Caffe Prada! My eBay Bride and I with my Parents checked it out last month and met the new Owner and Staff! Gelato is still Fantastik the Fiat is Gone and the place is GREAT! New Ownership and Staff is very Outgoing! Romantic Spot! even if you are by yourself and maybe more so!!!

This review is from 9−10−14. It was under their old name but I decided to move it. They have a new name now but the food and service are still great. The woman behind the counter was really nice and helpful. She answered our questions and honored the Unilocal free cookie coupon even though they have a new owner. I had their sugar free chocolate gelato. It was amazing. I would never have guessed it was sugar free. The chocolate flavor was rich and dark. My husband tried their brownie and peanut butter cookie. The brownie was huge and he enjoyed them both. I saw they have desserts from Kitchen Roselli which I love. It would save a drive over to East Bend. I will be back to try their sandwiches and coffee.
