I have been waiting to come here for months because I love the photos I see. The old house they moved into is gorgeous! The bakery area is small, but intimate. They have a cute sitting area up front also. I chose the double chocolate, almond and lemon macarons today. Those chocolate ones were to die for! The cookie was dense, but a slight crunch and the filling was perfect because it wasn’t too sweet. The lemon was pretty good, but seemed to lack that citrus punch I was expecting… Had a little artificial flavor. The almond was also very tasty but overall was a little much. I also tried their lemon bar and it was awesome! It was gooey, sweet and tart with a slight crunch on the bottom. Next time I’ll need to get some coffee too!

Their new location on 5th Street is just beautiful. Locals will remember that this house was home to Michael’s Restaurant back in the 80’s. It’s a neat feel inside with the different rooms and tables to sit at. It feels like you’re sitting in your own house enjoying(excellent) coffee and pastry. It’s quiet and filled with light and just generally pleasant. Ordered a dozen macarons to take to a friend — they were outstanding. The cookies were light — slightly crusty on the outside and airy and soft inside. The flavors were really good too. Lemon was the favorite, but we also had salted caramel, sugarplum, double chocolate, raspberry and toffee. At $ 2 a piece, they are a little pricey, but for a fun, unusual hostess gift, it was a good splurge.

I love the new location of the bakery. There’s tons of parking now and plenty of places to sit and enjoy your treats. I came in for a cake consultation and met with Chelsea’s sister. I found her service wonderful and enjoyed talking about cake with her. They did not have any cupcakes but I did get the chocolate chip cookie cheesecake bars and two macaroons. I love the bar cookies they are amazing and consistently good. I had the chocolate caramel macaroon which was delicious. The lemon one was pretty good but I wish it had a little more lemon to it. I will definitely be back for coffee and treats in the future.

I occasionally visited the Hawthorne location for french macarons. I previously enjoyed exceptional service from the mother/daughter team. Recently, I ventured to the new location for a coffee date with my husband. Sadly, we left feeling judged, disrespected, and misunderstood. Hand in hand we strolled into the shop. At the counter he and I ordered and chatted about the menu. I had my wallet ready to complete our transaction. Then came the cringeworthy question…“Is this together or separate?” This question feels like judgment so I asked the barista what made her ask this. Her reply, «Seriously, I don’t care. I’m not even interested.» Confused by this, I asked to speak to the owner. The barista laughed, walked away, and could be heard telling the owner, «This lady out here thinks I’m trying to hit on her husband.» To clarify, at no point did this cross my mind. When the owner came to the counter I explained why we felt judged by her question. Clearly, the«together» in her head didn’t match up with the together standing in front of her at the counter. This is not about being overly PC or playing the«race card». This is about respect and service. Simply put, this experience boils down to poor customer service. The barista was full of herself, unpleasant, and far from observant. Furthermore, the owner glossed over my concern with excuses I wasn’t believing and an offer of free coffee. I don’t believe in free fixes. It all felt very dismissive. Therefore, I can’t speak for the coffee as I left without it. In the future, this can all be avoided by engaging customers at arrival and asking open ended questions.

Chelsea did a cupcake tower for our wedding as well as a cake topper. Everyone raved about how delicious the cupcakes were! We visit Tart Sweets on a regular basis and everything is always tummy. My favorite is the bourbon pound cake and the chocolate chip cheesecake bars.

I am a big fan of their new location! I find it so much more relaxing and cozy than their old spot. Since the building use to be a house you can pretty much pick a room to have your coffee in, even if it was crowded the semi-separation of rooms helps make it feel cozy anyways. I really can’t pass by a tasty homemade cinnamon bun without ordering one and Tart Sweets is no exception. Yum! Their cinnamon buns are so tasty, they are soft all the way around, have the perfect amount of cinnamon sugar filling, and a good amount of icing. They don’t have a ton of pastry options, but they have enough that you get a decent variety. The day I was in they had about four or five different types of macarons. The homemade marshmallows are also delicious. I suggest adding one to your Camel City Coffee drink. Speaking of which I like that they partnered with Camel City Coffee and greatly expanded their drink options from what they had at their old spot. Come here grab a coffee, grab a treat, and relax a bit!

I love this place. The new location is gorgeous too! The cinnamon rolls are incredible. The macaroons were very good. I had never tried a macaroon before. I did not expect to love them so much. I also ordered the salted caramel tart for Thanksgiving this year… $ 30 was a bit much for a tart, but I thought I would splurge for something sweet for the holiday. It was a good sized tart, big enough for our whole family. It was really good. I don’t think I would buy it again, just based on cost, but it was good. The coffee is wonderful. It’s such a nice change from Starbucks… My only complaint about the coffee is that one visit I found that when I got home the coffee cup was only half full… I guess they just filled it with whipped cream. I wasn’t very happy about that… But the staff are very friendly and the coffee really is delicious. The pumpkin chai and the cinnamon mocha are my favorites. I like to stop here on my way to work and pick up coffee. I really wish that they had more food options to choose from when I go in the mornings, like quiche, cinnamon rolls, or macaroons. Especially cinnamon rolls!!! I have also had the bacon and cheese scone which has very good flavor. I will definitely continue going to Tart Sweets!
