I ordered a iced chai and ohmygoodness! It was the most delicious chai I’ve ever had! The lady who made my drink was extremely sweet and such a pleasure to talk too. I would highly recommend dropping in and trying one of their drinks and maybe a slice of their delicious looking cakes! You will not regret spending a single dollar here!

I have a long commute and sometimes I forget to drink my coffee. I was in search of a good coffee. I love my coffee with no sugar and no creamer so I need good quality. I love their dark roast coffee. Price isn’t that bad and it gets me through the day. Sometimes you get friendly people and sometimes they just want to get you out the door. I don’t mind since I just want my coffee.

Pepper Mill Coffee Shop is a must visit. Great coffee, even without those push button Starbuck machines. Cathy very friendly and makes a great coffee.

If you are looking for a Starbucks experience, do not go to Pepper Mill. This is a cozy, friendly spot with some really special people, the servers and guests both. It is quiet, relaxed and civilized. Right in the heart of fourth Street and just a couple of blocks from Camino’s, a big, busy coffee shop – also good, but different. This is the classic old-fashioned coffee shop utilizing the latest in coffee technology. When I was there, they would benefit from a larger selection of pastries and bagels. Still a great place.

Pepper mill coffee is my ideal study spot. A nice, quaint coffee shop with delicious coffee, great bagels and wireless internet. I have grown accustomed to needing creamer for cold brew coffees. There is no need for that here. My cold brew coffee was perfectly smooth yet strong. The employees here are incredibly kind and willing to go above and beyond to make your order just right. The environment is calm and comfortable. The music is relaxed and at a good volume. I’m definitely coming to study here more often or even just to relax and enjoy coffee.

During my early morning hunt for good pure coffee after recently moving to Winston Salem, NC the very first place fulfilled my expectations. The girl in the shop was awesome. Talked coffee. Talked about moving and all the places to check out. Very friendly and cool. I bought 3 bags of coffee that were out of this world. And got some fresh cookies and muffins. Oh. And being from NY and being picky about bagels, theirs were acceptable. I had Organic coffee beans to start and it was so fresh and relaxing. Topped it off with the chocolate muffin that sealed the deal. And yes. I was able to just walk to the place. So thank you Pepper Mill for making my transition so easy and comfortable. Oh yeah. My point is I highly recommend this place.

This place is a hidden gem downtown, if you blink you’ll miss it! Great selection of coffee and the baristas are great a mixing something up to your specific tastes! Prices are reasonable and if you just want a drip brew, it’ll be less expensive here than any restaurant. If you’ve got a sweet tooth, they’ve got freshly-baked cakes from a local baker which are usually gone quickly since they’re so good. Great coffee-shop ambiance in the historic Pepper Mill building, a nice blend of rustic functionality with modern flair.

If you are not looking for it, you will miss it for sure. But then, you will also miss out on the cutest little coffee shop in town! In a downtown crowded by coffee heavyweights, like Krankies and Caminos, it takes quite a bit of courage to come up with something like the Papermill, which is actually within a 5 min walk from both of the above. So what does Papermill have that Krankies doesn’t? Simply, better coffee. Although there are no dearth of Krankie coffee fans in this town, for those who find it just a tad bit too sour(Hello New Yonkers!) but still no other option, Papermill is what you gave been looking for! It’s tiny, but very cute with both local and internationally sourced coffee tastes that you will definitely appreciate. Especially if you want a change from Krankies ;)

Decided to check out this place for lunch since the place across the street was packed. While the Pepper Building on the outside is not pleasant, this shop is kind of interesting on the inside. The iced coffee was very good. The prepackaged food from West End café was also good though the bottom line was a bit pricey. If there was some combo pricing for the lunch crowd I would have given 5 stars.

A hidden gem located across the street from Mooney’s in the Pepper Building. Good coffee, Numi teas, and the friendliest baristas in town.
