We had a little trouble finding the restaurant in the dark but it was well worth the search. Delicious food, great service and very nice atmosphere, I look forward to coming back in warmer weather when we can enjoy the River Walk as well. Our family lived in Bangkok for 7 years(1988 to 1995) and this was some of the very best Thai food I have had since leaving Thailand. Please recognize, of course, that this is not a fast food restaurant and it will take some time to prepare but it is well worth the short wait. While I have heard that the current desserts are very good, I hope that one day Ubon Thai will be serving my favorite, Mango and Sticky Rice.

We had a great takeout meal! The place was a little difficult to find, but the food was delicious. We enjoyed pad thai, and a spicy noodle dish, and would definitely get takeout from here again.

We found this place on a business trip two years ago and were thrilled to find ourselves in Wilmington, able to visit this phenomenal place. Last night we enjoyed a live band with our dinner. Priced right, there are options for vegans too. Put this place on your bucket list.

Went here for lunch with coworkers. The service was awful: it took 10 minutes to be seated, 20 minutes to get drinks to the table, and 30 – 45 minutes to be served(all from time of walk-in). Absolutely ridiculous long wait(ugh) Anyway, I ordered the Chicken Massaman, a peanut lemongrass curry over rice. Food was ok, a solid 3.5 stars. I found it to be disappointingly underwhelming in terms of spiciness. Worth checking out for sure if you’re in the area, but my long wait makes me hesitant to return anytime soon.

One of the best Thai food! This is the closest in taste to the authentic Thai food you get in Thailand. The green curry is as good as what u get in Thailand. I took off a star cos the Pad Thai wasn’t that good. But I’m a fan of their green curry chicken.

Their food is great, I’ve come here twice with my boyfriend and we’ve enjoyed our meals both times. I like that they allow you to order your food in levels. The 5 is too hot for me, but my boyfriend claims that its hot enough to make you sweat but still has a good amount of flavor. I go with the level 2 which is still very flavorful but just with a little kick. Both times that I’ve been here its been loud and there’s a bit of a language barrier. I feel bad having to repeat myself because I can tell the waitresses try really hard, so just be prepared to have to shout and point.

The food is great and I’ve always been served very well by a smiling staff. My favorite appetizer is the Dancing Shrimp and all noodles are great :)

Been here three or four times and have never had a complaint. The food is always delicious and I like the menu set up. Essentially you can get curry, noodle/rice or stir fry with chicken, steak, shrimp, duck or tofu. Makes it really easy to decide what to order. The cocktails are fantastic as are the desserts. Sundays there is live music and I think one day during the week too. Owner goes to Thailand a few times a year to bring back spices and peppers. Oh yeah, the peppers… you think you can handle spicy? So do I. Guess what, I order about a level 3 here and I’m cryin by the end of the meal. Good thing they have a box of tissues on the way out! Be warned.

Good authentic Thai food. Love the papaya salad with grill shrimp. Coconut curry soup also very good.

Overall this restaurant was ok, not great and not too bad either. I’ve eaten in many better Thai restaurants. I ordered lotus flower for appetizer which per the menu was pan fried tofu but it was deep fried and extremely greasy, dint taste good either, so I sent it back as it wasn’t what I expected from the description! For entrée, I had the Pad Khi Mao, some of it was hot and some wasn’t, almost like when you microwave and it doesn’t get evenly heated, leaving pockets of heat. Also, I ordered medium spicy but it wasn’t spicy enough so I asked for some chili oil and was given chilli flakes and some oil/sauce separately, pretty strange! Adding spice did enhance the taste of the noodles though! For dessert, I had the death by chocolate which looked great but tasted okay.

We found this place because we really wanted authentic thai specifically. The ambience and service were good, however the food was somewhat lacking. My boyfriend and I both ordered the tofu pad see ew, and it was clear they don’t cook tofu often as it was somewhat overcooked. His was a 3 on the spice scale mine was 1. 3 was hot and he like the amount of spice but got a stomach ache. Mine was fine but a little bland(I don’t like spicy food much). The waitress was kind enough to bring a spice tray over when I asked but the spices offered were(for lack of a better word) gross. Veggie spring rolls were good. TLDR: average meal and experience, will consider returning.

Had the #3 spice level of Yellow Curry with Tofu and it was tasty and filling. It was nice to sit outside on the Riverwalk while enjoying the meal. Attentive service — initially served the the curry with chicken. Alerted the waiter and a replacement with Tofu arrived quickly. Plan to come back and try other items on the menu.

Just a tip for professionals in Wilmington: DONOT try to get lunch here during your work day. I just waited 25 minutes before I finally got up to ask someone to take my order. I got a blank stare when I told the staff how long I was seated and waiting. I asked if I could just order take-out because I had to get back to the office. The response was an indifferent shrug and then after I asked again, I was told«that will take a very long time too.» So I left.

We were looking for Asian food in the area. We originally wanted Kooma because my step daughter wanted the food there but they were closed. We went a few blocks down and found this gem. We walked in and the décor was beautiful. Being Asian I was skeptical because there were no Asian employees. I questioned the authenticity. We sat down and ordered drinks. My fiancé took the waiter’s recommendation on the Thai basil mojito. It was delicious! We ordered the floating market appetizer sampler and everything was very tasty. My fiancé and I shared the chicken green curry and the shrimp pad Thai. We got both spicy and it was definitely spicy. We loved it. My step daughter liked the flavor of the green curry but it was too spicy for her taste. We were shocked because she is a picky eater and normally doesn’t like curry. We also had the ubon fried rice and the larb. She liked those dishes too. We were pleasantly surprised and will definitely be back. Oh they also had a live local band playing which liven things up on a Sunday evening.

While the food was acceptable, the service was horrible. We waited for over 25 minutes for drinks. I bussed our table myself, because the appetizers were long done and no one ever came back. I asked 3 times for water, and finally got it. The food was not hot when finally served. The level 3 of spice is not hot, but I must admit the curry dish was very well balanced. I won’t go back.

Food: Came here and got the chicken pad thai($ 14). It was a decent amount but the pad thai was kind of sugary. I got spicy level 4, the highest is 5. It was basically like mild spicy which I liked. It was average pad thai. I think if you’re really craving thai then come here. They have other Thai food too. Location: It’s near the Westin pass the riverfront so it’s kind of far. I stayed at the westin so I came here. There’s not that many food options so if you work around here you will probably end up here. Décor and Service: The décor was nice and they had a live band singing/playing. Service was friendly.

The food is out of this world… one and only place for the BEST thai food… everything and anything is good in the menu… basically open up the menu close your eyes and place ur finger anywhere n guarantee u are going to love it… Friday and Saturday nights tend to be pretty busy so you would have to wait for your food but it’s worth it…

Well I heard mixed reviews and decided to give it a try and unfortunately I join the the negative reviewers. This place is great if you like to pay premium for average food and bad service. Unfortunately had to repeatedly stop a server to be helped and the portions are terribly small. As another tip, for some reason, this place adds a 40% markup to togo lunch orders! Example being the $ 10 lunch portion is for dine-in only, and you will pay the dinner price of $ 14 or so for your item.

The food was excellent. The Staff was kind. Thay provided live entertainment we were there on Sunday evening. Your near the waterfront so when your finished eating you can take a walk. Hope you enjoy it as much as we did
