Very eclectic music. But a lot of fun — decent size dance floor. People are friendly and drinks are(relatively) cheap! Check the address before you arrive! There is another Kinfolk close by and it is NOT a dance club! Get here early, stay as late as you want! Dance the night away.

I wish there was a «10 stars» option. First of all, I had a great time Sunday night at the space. The music was spot on and my friend and I literally squealed when Wayne Wonder’s «No Letting Go» played(being in my 30’s, I appreciate that sort of old school shout out). Then, horror hit and I lost my purse and my phone. The next day I used«Track my IPhone» and found it was still somewhere in Kinfolk. Ryan Carney, one of the cofounders, graciously took an hour out of his time to use his computer and help track my phone all while opening the closed space to me. He even pulled out two pairs of latex gloves and we searched INTHETRASH to find my perfectly intact purse and belongings. He was my hero and I am forever grateful. Can’t wait to go back. Thank you!!!

Honestly, love this place. Always good vibes and they have dope art shows too! Only negative connotation I have is on the nights when it’s packed and they only have 2 bartenders. Other than that I’ve always had a good night here, the sound system is great, and décor is comforting.

Expensive coke head bar filled with garbage people. The bald fat bouncer manager with street style is very cool and could pass for the fat Jewishes younger brother. He’s the only thing this place has going for it. A lot of thefatjewish followers in this bar so it makes sense. $ 5.50 for a Budweiser, get here early to avoid the $ 5 cover.

Great place to dance if you’re not in the mood for the usual hipster setting that Williamsburg bars display. Though it’s small, it’s still fun. The D. J plays old school rap, baby making music, and and current hits. Drinks are pricey though.

This place is great! Passed by this place while walking around in Williamsburg with a couple of friends and it was great as soon as we stepped inside. Old school and new school hip hop. A little crowded but you get over it. Drinks were really good plus the cute bartenders! Except for 1 jerk who refused to serve me because I ACCIDENTALLY spilled my drink. He completely ignored me and my friends which I thought was rude! So avoiding him next time I go there. But besides that it was awesome!

Great décor. Great space. The line was needlessly long, but the door staff kept the line moving and were friendly. But they were definitely letting their friends and underage girls in first. I went hiphop night and the music sucked. No one was dancing even though the floor was packed. The place could be very cool, but they need to change the door policy and music line up to be more open and less about the douche scene. That’s not what put Williamsburg on the map. This place is for hangers-on grasping at what Williamsburg used to be… creative and free spirited. I’ve been told other nights are better. Maybe Saturday’s are for the b and t crowd. ** They lots a star because of the tall blonde bartender who had no clue what he was doing and wot serving his boys first.

Literally a hole in the wall. no signs or anything on the front to let you know what this place is on the outside besides the line and bouncers. at first it was a little skeptical but once you walk pass the hallway and get inside it’s a completely different place! The drinks were fairly priced and they had a dance floor towards the back with the DJ playing hip-hop. the place was jumpin! would definitely start coming here more often and recommend this place to anyone!

Judging from the outside it looks like a whole in the wall. But walking through that long hallway into the bar(stunning). I have to admit I could’t stop staring at the décor it was unique and different from the places I’ve been to. The had a dance floor in the back room. Seatings all around. Came here for a friend’s birthday party. However I’m not much a fan of this bar scene. I don’t know it seem like of pretentious, wannabe’s slash douchey. It’s was dark.(what do you need your sunglasses for) I don’t know maybe it was just that night but ehhh. On top there was this one creep who kept going around stealing drinks! I mean really, you can’t buy your own drink but you steal my friend’s drinks. Something different we told the bouncer and the guy actually got thrown out. Tips: $ 5 cover charge & drinks were kind of pricey(but its Williamsburg, expected to be pricey) — Don’t come if you can’t afford to buy your own drink. Stay home. *** This place gets THREESTARS for the décor *** — the bar itself. ehhhhh.

Beautifully designed place with an awesome crowd on any night that you go! Only downside is the drinks are a little on the expensive side but it’s worth it if you like a place a lot. I have taken so many friends here and they have all loved it! Keep it up Kin Folk!!!

This review is for fight night: I loved everything about fight night here except the food… the restaurant next door didn’t have bar food… they did order pizza and that seemed to help but I was missing wings, fries, etc… I loved the décor and the set up and it was plenty of tv’s and space… the drinks were also good… I would not hesitate to come here again for another event… o it was suppose to be a raffle that never happened… I have no idea what it was for so I was disappointed and forgot about it when the fight started

In keeping with keeping Williamsburg trendy, the Kinfolk Gallery has a stunning interior, friendly bar staff, and drinks that are just pricey enough. I dropped by for a gallery opening and the work on display, as well as the DJ, were on point. Definitely worth coming by again as the bike ride here from the city was amazing.

People are wack. I’m actually so confused. This bar is beautiful and you come to dance with your girlfriends and/or best friend/boyfriend. There’s a disco ball… but in the greatest way. It’s a little wooden geodesic dome filled with technoy pop beats, sugary drinks, and very well dressed individuals. Have at it.

This place can be legendary but it needs a little work. The décor is great but it should be a bit more colorful inside. The sound is shit. They need an overall of their sound very badly. They spent a lot on the decorations inside but should of used that money to add some sound absorbers/dampeners in the ceiling and get better speakers. Occasionally they will have art on the walls which I guess solves the more colorful part of my earlier criticism but the bouncers kept telling people to move away from the walls and get off the stage. Why not take that stuff down when the party starts? I get it that you have art gallery stuff going on during the day or for special events but move them when you hit the drunk crowd part of the night. And now to the positive. Drinks are strong as hell. The DJ’s they bring in are great. They charge $ 5 bucks to get in which is ok. I’m sure that will be $ 15 in a year or so.

I walked in and fell in love with everything about this lounge/bar/dance floor hidden gem in Williamsburg, Brooklyn! Ace! Amazing Non Alcoholic Real Ginger Beer, they also have a Swedish Hard Apple Cider, and a great selection of different beers and wines. The Vibe was friendly, inviting, chill, earthy, and over all perfect! Was introduced to this place tonight on a date, and it instantly became a new favorite place! The Music was spun by a dj with awesome lights on a dance floor. Another small bar is down on the dance floor for a quick refreshment! Pretty Chill atmosphere even on a Monday night! I look forward to tasting the vibe of a weekend night and how the crowd is than. Great venue to host a party of your close, classy, Real friends and family! Also if you appreciate the nice smell of wood and a earthy, space-like, amazing rustic, but chic bar/lounge with wooden walls and ceilings, a very well designed atmosphere! Décor is an all natural, chill, fun atmosphere! Even the bathroom sink is cool! New favorite go to place with friend from out of town! Go Brooklyn!

Come for one of dopest designed spaces in NY. Be ready for disappointment in the form of bad drinks. Like I said, the space is well designed. It feels bigger then what it is because of the gigantic ceilings. Natural light beamed in from overhead, nice. The bar is a show piece. The wood walls made it feel rustic, yet chic. The bathrooms are single, unisex stalls numbering about 6 from, what I can remember. Aka, long lines on busy nights like last night. Big, sunken dance floor in the back, if you wanted It to be one. Stairs seems tricky if you’re twisted though. Ditto sunken seating area when you first come in on the left. Came here for a benefit, so not sure if the bartenders were the regular ones or not. If they are, it’s a shame. A beautiful space like this should have top flight bartenders that know how to make a proper cocktail. I’ve had better ones in Chinatown dives. It’s like owning a race car, but hiring a bus driver to win you races. Stick to beers and well drinks here. That way, you can enjoy what this joint truly is: a well designed space.

SPACIOUS. MODERN. SOPHISTICATED. My girlfriends and I randomly stumbled into Kinfolk on our last stop of the night. We were already far too drunk and far too sloppy, but the bouncer let us in anyway RIGHT before last call. THANKYOUUU! Honestly from the exterior this place doesn’t look like much, but WOW! The architectural design of the interior structure is gorgeous– a modern and sophisticated design, beautiful wooden features, high ceilings and arches, a large dance floor, cozy dark corners, and a SWEETSWEETLOOKINGBAR. The whole place looks like a mixture of where the future and the past collides. The dance floor was lit up with speckles of light strobing around making the entire area look like OUTERSPACE. Then there are these intricate wooden structures with beautiful arches that looked like a modern lodgey-treehouse straight out of a fairytale. The high ceilings keep the place well ventilated and cool, and also gives a really rad echo-effect when the place was emptying out. The bartenders were also super dope. They extended the last call a littttttllleee longer for us and let us frolic and dance(very uncoordinatedly) around the club. They had margarita machines that serve really SOLID margaritas that were quite strong. I remember they had a super cute Asian DJ spinning some sweet tunes, but it could have been BEERGOGGLES… I guess I’ll never know! We probably overstayed our welcome because after a few drinks, the bouncers kindly rounded up my drunk friends and I and walked us out. Maybe we had a super unique experience, but it was SOFUNNNNNN from what we remembered. Perfect way to end my last night in NY.

Kinfolk Studios has transformed their former event space into a full bar with the latter services in one. The design has a concrete bunker shell with new wooden design elements. Full bar program is in development as they’ve been only open a couple of weeks. I came during the day to check out the space in full light and have a drink at the bar. It’s a beautiful space and a great addition to the complex.
