This place definitely satisfied my BBQ craving. The brisket, pulled pork & sausage were very tastey. The sides were also pretty good. I can’t say this is the best BBQ I’ve ever had, hence the 4 stars, but I’ll be back here again. The place wasn’t crazy busy on a Sunday night, thankfully. The service was great and our food was brought out in good timing. Thanx for the meal, Mable!

This place has some seriously delicious BBQ. I ordered the deluxe to share and got to try a little bit of everything! The ribs were fall-off-the-bone tender and the brisket was juicy, delicious. The deluxe comes with three sides — two of which we chose to be mac and cheese. Worth it. There’s several sauces to try — I tend to prefer the vinegar. Can’t wait to come back!

Good BBQ places are few and far between so when I smelled this place up the block, I wanted to come back later for dinner. I got the ribs and they were GREAT. worth the trip. The sides were a little lacking so that is why only 4 stars… I will defs go back though.

I’ve had a lot of barbecue. The ribs here were the best I’ve ever had. Amazing! Cooked so long that even the bone was disintegrating. Relaxed vibe.

True to their description«ATMABLE’S, WEOFFERNOFRILLS, NOATTITUDE, GOODOLD-FASHIONEDBBQMADEWITH FRESh INGREDIENTSIN A LAID-BACKATMOSPHERE» this is a place to get a hearty meal at a reasonable price(not cheap but a treat and filling). I went to school in NC and feel that the pulled pork and chicken here is pretty good, but their St. Louis style ribs(spare ribs; not baby back) is what i come here for. Not overly sauced, fall off the bone tender, and comes with all the fixins’. Service — 4(it was almost empty when I was there but still great service) Food — 5(Ribs and don’t forget the sides! simple and delicious) Atmosphere — 4(no frills but comfortable) Price — 4(not cheap nor expensive — you won’t leave hungry)

Stopped in here after attempting to go to Brooklyn brewery on a Saturday afternoon(ya that’s just a bad joke who am I kidding). Line for brewery was insanely long so my friend and I came here instead. Bartender was super friendly and accommodating and was really putting in effort on the drinks she was slanging(tasting every cocktail with a straw). The bbq looked really good, my friend and I ended up ordering some pulled chicken nachos to share. These had a nice kick. I really enjoyed the bloody Marietta and my friends Moscow mule was also tasty. Can’t beat it when the drinks are in pint glasses too! Oh and loved singing along to the oldies that were pumping out of the speakers!

Food was pretty good… Not my favorite but definitely good. It was convenient because we just went to Brooklyn Bowl and it was right around the corner. We did family style dining — not my preference, and because we did that I think it was a bit more expensive than it would of been had we individually ordered. The brisket was good and so was the pulled pork… Mac and Cheese was probably the highlight of the meal for me — but I am a sucker for mac and cheese

I’m from the south and was craving some good ol’ country food. I felt it was solid overall, but it was too pricey. We came in through the door and were confused about where to go. After a minute, someone found us wandering around. Just FYI, they’ll seat you and then you go through a line to place your order. They bring the food to your table. We got the 3 meat combo and some sides– ribs, pulled pork, chicken, beans, cornbread, greens, beers, and pie. I loved the ribs– they were by far my favorite because they just melted in your mouth. My husband felt the greens were too sour, but I really liked them. He’s not too keen on vinegar, so if it’s your thing then you’ll like it, too. The pie was very smooth and fluffy. I loved it! The pie crust could use some tweaking as it wasn’t flaky enough. The place is really dimly lit. I have good eyesight, but it was just way too dark. The restrooms were clean and I liked the overall décor.

When I did a google search of good BBQ places in Williamsburg, Mable’s came up. Located right around the corner from Brooklyn Brewery, we were crossing the street, looked up, and there it was! Mable’s Smokehouse! So we had to go in to check it out. We walked in and felt like we had transported down south within seconds. We weren’t sure how the place worked at first, but after observing for a few minutes we realized we had to go to the counter to order, then find a place to sit. We weren’t starving so we wanted to share. The guy taking orders recommended us to order more food then just one platter, which comes with 2 sides, but we didn’t listen to him. He was right. Our food came within 10 minutes and it was 3 strips of brisket and our two sides. But, they accidentally gave us the potato salad instead of the beans we ordered. So they were nice enough to bring out a 3rd side of the beans. With the extra side, we felt a little better about having enough food. The best part on the tray was the BBQ sauce to pour over the brisket. The brisket would’ve been dry and boring without it but that sauce was da bomb. The mac and cheese was extra creamy and the beans were spicy but had a flavorful BBQ kick to them. I could’ve done without the potato salad. All in all, it’s pretty pricey, but I guess thats Williamsburg for ya. The only reason I’ll be back is to get my hands on that BBQ sauce.

Mables BBQ is a cool fun joint that has a lot character and some pretty good food. After stopping by Brooklyn Brewery which was right down the street I was hungry and looking to get a bite to eat and this was the first place I stopped at. When you walk-in it has a very southern feel to it with the wood tables and large wood bar. You order your food and pay first and then they give you a stand with a picture of a state on it to place on your table. This is how they know where to deliver the food once you sit down. I ordered the brisket platter with a side of Mac & Cheese, Beans, Potato salad. The portions for the meat were pretty small but for the sides they were just right. The meat was a little dry but the sauce they had with it was delicious. The Mac and Cheese was tasty and creamy and the beans were a little smokey but pretty good. The Potato salad was not anything special and I would advise not getting that. The food here was good and if you are in the area it would be an ok spot to go to. In short: — Tasty BBQ — Friendly Staff — Quick-Casual Restaurant

I’ve been to some bbq-places in brooklyn and the bronx, but I have to admit this was the best one! The mild sour rips are really awesome, no more, not comparible. Macncheese like I wished them. Pulled pork melting easy on your tongue. Homemade Mables jalapeño vinegar — no comment. For everyone who wants to enjoy real, original, traditional, with love from heavend sent bbq, come and eat at this fucking great place. No matter the 60 bucks we spent — take the deluxe plate and eat lick your fingers afterwards. have a good one — I am passing out food coma…

Me and my friend were craving BBQ after working all day and decided to split a deluxe platter. Andouille sausage, ribs, pulled pork, cole slaw, pickles, mac n cheese, beans, and corn bread. The star of the show were definitely the ribs, which literally fell off the bone and were massive. Lots of meat, no stingy portions here. They had a light coating of sauce on them. I’d come back just for this, and only this, to tell you the truth. The pulled pork was tender but was served completely dry. They do have a BBQ sauce on the table, but I prefer my sauces sweet and smoky and this tended too far too vinegar for me. But are there really people out there eating their pulled pork completely sauce-less? Seems crazy to me. The andouille was solid, though I prefer it more heavily seasoned. The mac n cheese is straightforward, nothing fancy, not worth getting again. The cornbread was dry. To the right is where you order, you get a marker for your table and they bring you your food. To the left is the bar where you order your alcohol and bring it back to your table. That whole setup is just kind of odd, and on a busy night when the place is packed I can see it being a struggle to get drinks for your table. The ambiance is great, lots of wood, Motown music, retro Americana décor, nice people work there. I just wouldn’t make it a destination.

Here we are again. A Texan in NYC with a hankerin’ for some BBQ. Shit. After some Brooklyn Brewery action, we stumbled over to Mable’s with our fingers and toes crossed for something good. Went for the 3 meat and 3 side plate at $ 40. Ouch. Total nod to NYC. 4 of us ate at Rudy’s in Austin with desserts and leftovers and rolled out of there for $ 60. Just saying. The ribs were very good. Fall off the bone good. The brisket was next best. The sausage is not a BBQ sausage I’ve ever met. Side note: it’s andouille, a nod to good ‘ol Loiusiana just not what I’m used to. The potato salad blows. The beans are aight. They hit the nail on the head with the comp sides: white bread. jalapeños. raw white onions. pickle chips. Go Mable! I wish the jalapeños were whole, but that’s just a matter of preference. Solid 3.5 folks. I’d say if you need your fix, this place will do. And then you’ll belch yourself to sleep.

The brisket was delicious very moist it melted in my mouth; the side were small but very savory. I would have loved more coleslaw because it was perfect!!! My drink selection was an Old Fashion iced Tea it was delish!!! I also tried the House IPA(that is a must do) it was lovely; which led me next door to the Brooklyn Brewery !!! Stay tuned ;)

Mables Smokehouse is off the chain! I woke up with a crazy taste for BBQ and I didn’t want to try something I already had within my neighborhood. I decided to see if any one of my good friend would join me on my quest for good BBQ. My good friend recommended that we try Mables Smokehouse in Williamsburg, a place that neither of us have tried. This made the experience even more exciting. I believe great BBQ should be served in a great BBQ joint! Mabel’s is one such joint. When I waked in, the place gave me a very Texas/rustic ambiance. The layout was purposeful and well thought out, given the space. I loved the long tables for family style rating and the seating area for small groups and couples. The staff was very friendly, especially the bartender and the floor manager. I arrived soon then my friend and so I tried the spiked lemonade which was excellent. Everything on the menu was perfect. I tried almost everything and everything was smoked and Barbecued to perfection. I will return and I promise up, you will not be disappointed at all!

Man… There’s nothing I have but love for Mables! Located in Hipster Willamsburg, this place is perfect for beer, shots of alcohol and of course, perfectly smoked BBQ. I came in during the afternoon and had the place to myself. I quickly ordered a beer on tap. Oh and beers? They have a extensive list of both tap and bottled beers. I’m given a lunch menu and I zero in on the brisket sandwich. I also ordered the Mac & Cheese. Now, M&C varies from place to place. What turned me off and I knocked off a star was the M&C. Mables Smokehouse(Don’t forget the Banquet Hall) specializes in smoked BBQ meats. Why make a sucky M&C??It was like eating slugs, velvetta cheese and elbow pasta. No flavor whatsoever, I should have ordered the beans. Mables Smokehouse is known for one thing, its a smokehouse. And man oh man do they encourage smoking at home. The brisket sammy was loaded with Deelish brisket that was smokey, fatty, meaty and so flavorful. A total 10 out of 10. Also, eating at the bar was a little strange, The bar has this wooden«lip» that doesn’t allow the tray to be close to you. Mables Smokehouse is a fun looking place with plenty of wooden picnic tables to eat the fab BBQ. Oh yeah, its made in Brooklyn baby!

My cousin had her birthday dinner here and it was a big hit! She had about 20 something people attend and I was really surprised on how accommodating Mables was! When we walked in there was a long table all set up and waiting for us(this was also on a busy Saturday night) and ready to go. The whole process was so well coordinated and ran smoothly. There was plenty of food for everyone and everyone got their food at the same time! The waiters were helpful and service was good. There was a big plate tray of multiple selections of yummy bbq meats(beef brisket, andouille sausage, ribs and pulled pork) and another big plate of 8 sides of your choice. It was all so yummy! I am a big fan! This is definitely enough food for 4 people(yes, including guys lol). At the end, they also helped us cut the cake(brought from elsewhere) and pass the slices around! Overall– great place, nice people, awesome grub.

Here’s my TL;DR review: –better than Fette Sau –sides are kind of weak –get the fatty brisket I came here with a group of 6 friends and we basically tried to eat everything they had. For our meats, we had: –brisket(fatty and lean) –pulled pork –St. Louis ribs For sides, we had: –candied yams –potato salad –collard greens –mac n cheese The fatty brisket was probably the best thing on the menu. The pulled pork was just okay. The ribs were great and we actually had a second order. The mac and cheese was pretty bad, and the collards were just okay. The potato salad was boring, and the candies yams were acceptable. Prices are kind of up there. For a half pound, they charge about 2⁄3 of what other places charge for a full pound. Though they come with sides. But again, their sides aren’t great. Servers and cashiers were super nice though, and they have a good whiskey/bourbon selection.

Came here after visiting the Brooklyn Brewery. My boyfriend and I sat by the bar. I ordered the Cherry Limeade Drink. It tasted like a Shirley Temple Slushie… YUM! We shared the Brisket with Collard Greens and Mac & Cheese. Everything was really delicious! The service at the bar was great and the atmosphere was cool. I would definitely come back here again.

Stopped in for a quiet lunch Handsome location in Williamsburg Communal tables with a dozen or so seats at the bar. Country music in the background I ordered the brisket platter with a hot link Macaroni and cheese and potato salad for sides. Sides were the highlight Macaroni and cheese was homemade and delicious the same can be said for the potato salad The brisket was good but I have definitely have had better. Quality meat but it was on the dry side. The sausage was meh at best. I have had much better. Service is good, not overly overbearing. I will likely come back to try the ribs and pulled pork.
