So, this has to be one of the coolest bars in Williamsburg… not necessarily from the actual ambiance, but more for the views of Manhattan, which are spectacular. The rooftop was absolutely gorgeous, even in the dead of Winter. The cocktails, bartenders and waitstaff were pretty standard, and the ambiance and feel of the place are cozy and nice, but the real reason to come here is for the Views. I imagine the lines to get in here could be pretty long in Summer, so come early, but honestly, even in Winter it’s awesome and they still let you go on the patio for the views, pics, etc. If there’s one place in Brooklyn to for sure to visit, I’d say it’s the Ides Rooftop Bar at the Wythe Hotel… can’t overemphasize how great this place is — make sure you come.

Organized and beautiful. There was a line before the elevator, organized by a staff member. 10 minutes and we were up. Little dark inside, beautiful outside. Professional bartender made us drinks, and we stepped outside to look at NY skyline. Cool spot in Williamsburg, beautiful view of the city skyline.

Rude bartenders on Saturday Night. The bartenders seemed to be complaining about the customers to each other. They were not accommodating or friendly. The manager also was not nice. Its a shame I used to love this place and met few nice bartenders but none of those people work there anymore. Not worth it anymore. Maybe try the bar at Reynard instead. Good for the rooftop but hard to get a drink.

Very nice rooftop bar in Brooklyn… once u walk into the hotel lobby, u get escorted to the elevator by a really nice host… the bar has amazing views of NYC skyline and the drinks are good as well. Whether u decide to stay inside or go to the deck… the views will def be worth it. A great spot to visit for those out of towers like myself.

BEST Views of Manhattan and great crowd… this is the perfect spot in Williamsburg to catch some rays and view the city, hear great music, great bartenders and cocktails. attentive with food and all needs. We had the best time. We spent our entire afternoon here and felt right at home. The Ides is the hotspot! You need to go here. I will be back for sure! Staff was pleasant from entry to exit!

never had such a blast from a view over a city — reminding myself — I am in fucking NY catching up the view over old Indian settlement manhattan, now melting plot number 1 sodom and gomorrha, from the opposite of the east river. Keeping my emotions cool with the sweetbitter icecold Brooklyn Lager in my hand, no need for fancy cocktails. no need for anything else.

Took my Aus/Brit friends here when they were visiting NY this past weekend. We came on a Friday night around 9:30pm. The view is beautiful and it is a classy bar. We got a table for 4 without reservation with relative ease right next to the window for the view and there was no line to get to the bar. The cocktails/beers are decent, everything ranging around $ 7-$ 15 which is expected in Willyb now. They were also pretty strong which is always a plus. But nothing that we really LOVED. I personally would like some more girlier sweet ones. Service girl was lovely answered any questions we had. The restrooms are unisex fyi. The only thing I wish was more Cocktail diversity and also better seating outside. It gets pretty cramped and hoggy.

5 stars for the view man! Wowwww so beautiful. The sunset is just incredible. The colors, the skyline, the city. It’s perfect! I thought it was going to be incredibly expensive but it’s cheaper than any Manhattan bar. They have a huge drink menu. Fernet, Campari, Cynar, all my favorite and«rare» stuff. Outdoor view or indoor it doesn’t matter, you pick the right spot the city it’s going to be there just for you and the sun too 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Go now while it has a view. Williamsburg and Greenpoint are developing so fast that for example you can’t see the bridges nor the freedom tower/downtown anymore! Again, go NOW while Williamsburg exists!

Tip: If you dine at the restaurant Reynard on the ground floor, they’ll let you skip the long line to go up to Ides Bar. The views are pretty awesome, especially considering that the inside of the bar offers just as good or even better than being outside. I came with a bachelorette party of 8 girls. It seemed a bit crowded when we got there, however, the hostess took one glance at our group and led us outside to a private reserved table. We did not have a reservation. So that was pretty awesome. Our group ordered a bunch of cocktails and some had glasses of wine. I had two Aviation cocktails(a new favorite of mine) and they did not disappoint. Service was also prompt and attentive. It was a great time, very chill and the crowd was pretty laid back, with the exception of a couple guys that were trying to be creepers.

Pretty sweet rooftop bar with both indoor and outdoor seating. The outside patio isn’t very large and can get crowded quickly. It has a beautiful view of the industrial riverside of Brooklyn with the Manhattan skyline in the background. Most of the indoor tables are reserved. The view from inside is just as beautiful as from the outside. Perfect for watching the sunset on a breezy summer evening. Bartenders are a bit quiet but friendly and happy to get you a glass of tap water along with your drink. The vibe is very relaxed and casual. I had the Harvey Wallbanger(reyka icelandic vodka, orange juice, galliano liqueur) and it was yummy without being too sweet. Sometimes, there’s a line for the elevator in the lobby but a staff member will coordinate the wait. They also have doormen, seeing how it IS a hotel. Good place to hit up if you’re in the neighborhood!

Great place to watch the sunset and have a few drinks. Came here on a weekday afternoon and it wasn’t too crowded. They have some seats outside and inside. If it’s sunny and warm, go outside. The vibe is way better!!! Had a few beers and some cocktails that were good. They have lots of options! The staff is very friendly and everything was perfect. The place started getting crowded after 6pm, with people in their 30s. And of course, the sunset and the view are the best!!! This place is perfect for a happy hour or a date night with dinner somewhere else afterwards.

My fiancé is always down for a beautiful sunset and as far as I know, this rooftop bar has one of the best views overlooking the east side of downtown manhattan atop the Wythe Hotel. The drinks are comparable to city prices and they have a nice selection of really interesting cocktails. They don’t do some of the standard drinks such as White Russian or Long Island Ice Tea. I overheard someone ordering these drinks and the bartender politely explained that they do no serve cocktails that have more than 2oz of alcohol per drink. It’s a classy place and they prefer to keep it that way. We came here around 7pm on weekday night and stayed for a couple hours. There was plenty of space and it never got too loud. If you are interested in bar hopping though, there are other spots such as the Whiskey Brooklyn, right down the street.

Come for the view… then maybe head somewhere else. Views are definitely worth a small wait downstairs, especially at dusk, and well worth a visit for any tourist, but there wasn’t much else to love about the place. Bar staff were as rude as they come and the wait for a drink made a needlessly tedious experience. Guy serving us just took his own tip too, leaving us waiting there like fools for the change that never came. We took a few photos and took in the view, knocked back our beers and left for a more genuine and laid-back ‘Brooklyn’ experience elsewhere.

Great bar, great hotel, great drinks, great vibes. I really liked the atmosphere here — it’s a perfect spot for a few post-work, summertime cocktails. And the views are insane — much better than Berry Park whose views are a bit lower and more obstructed. If you’re not staying at the hotel, you have to ask the concierge to escort you up to the roof, but it’s not a big deal.

Very nice place, I love the rooftop with an amazing view on Manhattan skyline, can’t beat it! Large choice of cocktails and drinks. A nice place to be in Williamsburg, with pleasant atmosphere, but not the friendliest waiters. There are usually a few people in line, there were something link 20 people in front of us when we got there around 9:30, and it took us almost half an hour to get to the top. Prices are decent for NYC. No music outside, and people can only smoke in some places of the rooftop — which is great.

This place is so turning Williamsburg into the next Meatpacking /LES obnoxious neighborhood. The prices are totally Manhattan prices and the bartenders are oblivious. The one guy with the long hair literally gave me the«I see you, you’ll be next look» as he continually helped other people who kept coming up to the bar. Even though I was sitting there. And the worst part is there is a HUGE building being built next door so the skyline view is totally ruined! As the only reason to come here is the view, it’s basically now pointless. I’d much rather just go to a regular bar.

We arrived at 9:30, we waited 2 minutes on line. When we exit at midnight, there were more than 50 people waiting on the line. The place do offer nice view, and for those who like to smoke while they drink, the outside will be perfect for that. There was no music outside(which really make the sitting outside and smoking a bit weird), and there is only one end where you can really see the view. There are few other places around the place, so you can choose to jump to the next place. I would recommend to start from the rooftop to avoid the crazy line they have in the after hours.

The sunsets here are amazing, truly everyone should experience it once. That view of midtown is stunning, even sans sunset, it is hard to compare. That being said, there are some downsides to Ides, first of being the wait and the crowds. The wait to get up there unless you get there when it first opens, can easily be 40 minutes or more. Once you get up there its reminiscent of a middle school dance … judging, judging, judging. I think a lot of people come to Ides who don’t live in Brooklyn, but dress in a way they think Brooklynites look like, if that makes sense. The crowd can be a bit much, but there are prats all over NYC. The drinks are pretty good, and our waitress Misty was super helpful the night we came with 7 people. We were even lucky enough to snag a table with a pretty minimal wait. Definitely prepare to leave with a $ 100 tab, but if you want to come for a one off, it is totally worth it. I think as Billy Burg continues to develop and there are more large towers coming through Ides will face some competition, but for now they’re clearly a go to, and with a sweet summer breeze, it can be hard to stay away.

We enjoyed it! The ideal spot for a spring summer hangout. And a winter chill-out too but as winter has just passed I don’t want to put a damper on anyone’s vibe. Lol It’s on the rooftop(6th floor) of the Whyte Hotel(which use to be a sugar factory /plantation cannot remember which one) The view couldn’t be more spectacular, including the building that’s now being erected lol. You have a choice of indoor or sitting /hanging outside. We sat on our humps for all of 3 seconds before we opted for the fresh air *cough cough* With my selfish droid battery dying, I was only able to capture a few quick shots so don’t take my pictures as proof of the splendor of it all. The bar itself is a pretty straight forward run of the mill deal. Ladies it’s unisex toilet so you may wanna pull up, tuck in before you leave your cubicle *clears throat* Cocktail report? I couldn’t say as I only had pinot. They seem to have an extensive cocktail list from what I can remember of their menu though. What impressed me most was the courteous, quick staff. Before you thought of it, done, so accommodating. There was nothing too difficult for any member of staff to do to make your stay an enjoyable one. They’re so on point that as I left the bar to go downstairs I saw no one, but hey presto! Once I was in the lift there was someone next to me to escort me down with his lift key card. If your phone(battery) is a wuss like mine all manner of chargers are provided at the front desk where your phone will be charged safely and quickly. I was back to 100% on leaving. Awesome view! Safe phone charging facility. Friendly, professional service all round. Walking distance from a train station. Contemporary with a classic twist. What’s not to love! Nice! The End.

Super!
