Joe’s Pizza

Great, classic pizza, although the prices are up there.

I have eaten here at least a dozen times, and if readers aren’t sure why some reviews rave about Joe’s, and others are lackluster, I would say that it’s because Joe’s can be inconsistent.
When I first moved to Westport two years ago (note, I am from the Bronx, which has some of the best NY-​style pizza around), we decided to give Joe’s a try. We were very impressed by the pizza: excellent sauce, great-​tasting crust, ample (but not excessive) amounts of cheese.
Fast forward a month or two, we had ordered a pie that can only be described as mediocre — a bit overcooked in some areas and dry.
Since then, I have eaten pizza from Joe’s that falls somewhere in between these two extremes. I experienced some nights where I would give the pizza three stars; and other times, I’d assign the pizza a full five stars.
In short, a good pizzeria, if a bit inconsistent.

I’m only reviewing based on one delivery order, but the slices were huge with a tasty sauce, the Italian Combo came nicely dressed with plenty of meat, and the Philly Cheesesteak with mushrooms and onions arrived piping hot on a well-​toasted hero roll. I’ll definitely be ordering again the next time I’m in town. By the way, the person taking my order was probably the nicest I’d ever encountered.

My new favorite pizza spot! Recently we had Joe’s Pizza for lunch at our work luncheon. The pizza and sandwiches were great, and the salads were amazing — fresh and delicious. We have since used Joe’s on other occasions and the food is consistently great. Highly recommend!

The pizza isn’t outstanding, just regular average pizza. They have amazing cheese calzones with a perfect filling i would certainly recommend those. But the real reason to come to Joe’s is their house dressing. Whether it’s on salad or dipping your pizza in it, it is an absolute must have! Joe’s dressing is the reason i will go there over any pizza place in Westport, norwalk and Fairfield. Yes, it is that good.

If you grew up on mall pizza, this will bring back fond childhood memories. But if, like me, you truly love pizza for the crust, the cheese, the sauce and the toppings, do yourself a favor and drive a mile west to Romanacci in Norwalk or a bit south in Westport to Julian’s or Tutti’s or Tarry Lodge.

Over a year later, I still consider Joe’s the best little pizza joint in Westport! I am never disappointed. I grew up eating Westport Pizzeria, but I haven’t even thought of going there in years. Joe’s is just way better. I recommend the chicken scarpariello dinner, any kind of pizza (hot cherry peppers is my favorite topping though), South beach wrap, garlic knots, and Westport Salad. They also have the best house dressing I have ever tried. The owner and staff are friendly! I love Joe’s!

I was excited to try Joe’s after reading the reviews. That’s over now. They make a really pretty pie. I mean it was a good looking pizza. But I’m sorry to say it just didn’t measure up in taste. Limited flavor, cardboardy crust. Gave it three shots. Hot and fresh, cold in the morning and also reheated in the oven. Sorry. the stars are just for looks.

I’ve only eaten the «Spicy Tomato» pizza, but on the merit of that alone, I’m giving them 5 stars. I can only imagine how good their other items are.
Downsides?
The cost of the slice almost caused me to faint (just under four bucks!)
When I was there, the staff wasn’t particularly warm and fuzzy.
Not a con, but the location within the complex is very odd.
None of that takes away from the food. Go; you’ll be happy you did.

Now this is what I call «Westport pizza» (get it? get it? ya get it?).
As the years have been unkind to the former town standby Westport Pizza, Joe’s Pizza came in like a superhero a few years back to save us all from those content to coast on reputation. I’ve never had a bad slice or pie at Joe’s, and the sandwiches are also delicious. Highly recommended to anyone in the area.

Our family loves Joe’s…def our «go to» pizza place! Great pizza for sure, haven’t ordered any of their other specialties yet. Friendly, quick service, clean restaurant where I occasionly dine in when I want a couple of slices. Easy parking right out front too.

Joe’s is always good! Everything they have on the menu is tasty and the staff & owner are always friendly and helpful! I love Joe’s… I eat their food all the time, YUMMM
