I am a local business man and have been a frequent customer at the Bolsa location. The food is average but customer service is awful. Too noisy caused by the employees when cleaning up the tables – ears deafening. The manager didn’t even care when asking to low the noise down he, himself, threw the dishes into the basket even worst. That is Asian mentality of revengeful.

Since the Irvine branch food taste awful, decided to drop by here even though I never had good experience here. Since I didn’t see the douche from before, I thought it was gonna be better. Until they cheated and stole our left overs. We barely touched the food because we ordered too much. When we opened the box after we got home, we found that it was just bones in our box. The meaty portion of our food was gone. GONE just like that. Its ridiculous. This place is so shady. One of the most annoying thing they do is to rush you to get out. Flat out rude.

I came here to eat 2 times. The food here is real Chinese food and the taste is good too but the waiter serve without smile on his face. The first time I order sweet and sour fried beef and it’s really good but second time I order pork with vegetables is not cooked well and ever the dish is not warm and I don’t like it. It’s done by micro wave oven maybe but the person who cooked the dish don’t know it’s still cold. That’s very bad.

Our friends from HB love this place. After attending their eldest son’s birthday party at Pump it up, we ended up at this restaurant for lunch. We ordered the following Salted Calamari. French style Filet Mignon. Pork and Cabbage. Vegetarian dish that looked very weird, and I have no idea what it was. BBQ Pork. Shrimp Noodles. 2 Tapioca drinks. 1 Mango Honey Toast Dessert. Total with tax and tip came to $ 93.41 Pros: The French Filet Mignon was excellent(+1) The Mango Honey Toast dessert was unique. Never had anything like this before.(+1) Menu was really descriptive with the pictures of EVERY dish on their menu. It made it very easy to order.(+1) Ample seating. The three toddlers had a blast and it seemed like no one was bothered by how boisterous we were. YAY for us. Apologies if you were there and were annoyed with us last Sunday. Cons: Calamari was too salty. Even though the name had«salt» in it, it was overwhelming. Pork was too fatty.

Got to go for the family. Eating there is a lot better than getting to go, so I don’t recommend to go’s — walnut shrimp: it was alright. It tastes the same everywhere I go — French style filet mignon: it was okay. I had a bite and didn’t find it good so I didn’t eat any more. — pork chops: very good! — salted fish and chicken fried rice: I thought this was good but my family liked the shrimp fried rice more. — beef chow fun: this was my favorite dish. I add a little bit of siracha to make it a bit spicy. You could also add chili pepper. — orange chicken: my siblings likes it but I’m not a fan of orange chicken — tofu with mushrooms and gravy: this was pretty plain but I liked it anyways. I was craving tofu. Overall its good. A huge variety of food. I will not get to go anymore though. I’ll just eat there!

OK, so I’ve been here numerous times and as I mentioned before, IDK why this only has 3 stars. Once again, 5 stars from me! The food is exceptional and always fast, no matter how busy they are. The presentation is always amazing. Everything is «shiny» and fresh. Unfortunately though, I’ve only experienced servers who have little to no personality, but just«get the job done». This time, however, we went for an early dinner on a Saturday and WOW… Solomon Wong! Woo hoo… what a fun, pleasant guy! He brought life to what I already thought was a good place. His smile and personality was over the top. He suggested items(their menu is huge), and just by looking at us, he thought we’d enjoy the fresh steamed fish of the day. He even whipped out a photo on his phone to show us what a «Sandgoby» fish was. Impressed. OK, so yummy. Chinese restaurants always know how to make steamed fish, so even though we had never heard of a Sandgoby, we went with his recommendation. Yes, it was delicious, but unfortunately, not enough for the $ 22 price. We also ordered Chinese broccoli, which is always good here and different than most because they stir fry it in sauce.(I love it both ways, though) We should have ordered another entrée, but ended up filling up on rice. So, thanks Solomon! We won’t come here on a Thursday anymore, since it’s your day off… You put bling into this place! Thank you…

Good food. The boss seems to have a permanent frown on his face. They’re pretty fast and some of the servers are polite which is nice. NOT A PLACEFORANINTIMATEDATE! It’s so noisy there. Like SERIOUSLY noisy. When you go during peak hours, you have to totally raise your voice while speaking. And what’s up with TV’s everywhere in restaurants these days? We don’t allow for much TV at home so when they’re here, their eyes are glued to the TV with either weird shows, news or asian music. And they lose track of why we go to a restaurant: EAT!

I came here on Valentines with my mom and her boyfriend. Upon getting seated, we were never asked if we wanted waters but I overlooked this at first. Impatience struck when D raised his hands and attempted to get their attention because we wanted to put in our orders. No one acknowledged him so he stood up and approached the waiters about it. The girl came with an attitude, asked if we were ready and we asked for waters and she said«well do you want to order food too?» to which I responded«well usually we get our waters first.» she walks off, gets water and returns; and this is where I begin to watch her. it’s empty here on Valentines, granted but hello? that’s more of an opportunity to ask your guests if they’re doing okay or make yourself useful rather than stand there with a rude attitude as though we owe YOU the pleasure. I am a very polite person, but I believe in customer service ESPECIALLY in the food industry. don’t work where you cannot deliver. simple.

If I don’t feel like driving to Irvine, I end up here with my family. They updated their menu where literally every time has a picture. They also included more Hong Kong dishes. We ordered clam soup, fried tofu, Hainan chicken, and the special chow mein. Lets just say, you will feel all the MSG and salt after your dinner! What do you expect from a Chinese restaurant? It is more on a pricey side for the small dish you get, but with a big group of family, you can get a variety of dishes to share. It is in a family style entrée, but with their new addition of Hong Kong dishes, you can individual have your own dish as well. Downside is the restaurant is small and can get pretty loud and hectic. Keep track of your order because sometimes they do forget!

My meals have ranged from good to great. It is not the least expense of the authentic Chinese restaurants of its kind(Hong Kong style family banquet food), but the quality is well worth the dollar or two per dish more that you pay. And here in Westminster where so many restaurants are Vietnamese — it is nice to have an authentic Chinese option. Tasty Garden is a chain with other branches in Irvine and in Arcadia to name a couple. Tasty Garden specializes in Milk-Teas and specialty drinks as well as food. There is a section of the menu that offers Hong Kong style takes on Western Dishes like Spaghetti Bolognese and Schnitzel. Also, unlike most Hong Kong banquet places, Tasty Garden does not specialize in seafood(although they offer plenty of it). My favorite dish on the menu is the Special Cold Chicken with the side of garlic-ginger relish(simple and addictive). They least expensive filling items on the menu are the noodles in soup(I like it with their homemade won tons which are more like shumai dumplings), which will set you back a whole six bucks. Their shrimp with walnuts has been hit or miss depending on that day’s chef. there, I have had both the best one I have ever tasted, and the worst. But even the worst was only unsatisfying because it had so little of the sweet mayonnaise sauce, but still the shrimp themselves were fried crisp to perfection. The soups here are a little pricey and a tad small, but delicious. My favorite is the Beef Westlake soup. Other dishes that are amazing is the shrimp in black bean sauce, the Peking Pork Chops, and Mongolian Beef. The chain also offers a kind of waffle for dessert(like a sheet of waffle raviolis filled with something similar to marshmallows). It is worth it for the unusual dessert buzz — a little more Western and accommodating to the Caucasian pallet than the usual red bean or tapioca soup that you get in other Hong Kong style places. The Lunch menu offers reduced portions of the dinner dishes at half the price.

Real Cantonese/HKese style of cooking. «wok air» is really strong and you could tell that the chef could cook good«chow fun», «jeen min» and fried rice. Do not order a hot tea, they charge you. Instead order special drinks(free refill). If you like authentic Cantonese«fried» dishes, this is the place. Bathroom is acceptable(cleaner than the one in Irvine), parking is easier than the mall across the street. Enjoy!

Not as good as the one in Monterey Park or Alhmabra, but it’s still edible. The people here speaks perfect English, which makes it easier to have a conversation or even ask what is in the dish. My favorite part about this restaurant is that the menu has pictures and it’s not sticky. Even though the menu is a little more limited but they still have your main dish. I came here for porridge and wonton noodle and they both were good. They have your typical MSG taste which is delicious. The portion is great, no hair in the food, satisfied my tummy, and cheap price.

I have been to this place a few times within two years. Menu always change for the better. More pictures and easier to order now. If you are looking for healthy, this is the place. Lots of veggies and meat lovers will enjoy it!

Food tasted okay. I think in general the flavors are right but could be stronger. Portions are decent, but I think the plating made it look smaller. The place isn’t the cleanest either. But I thought they had cute menus that look like catalogs– there’s a picture for every dish but it takes a while to search through the entire book to see what you want. My family ordered… 109) Honey glazed shrimp with walnuts: decent. The batter on the shrimp was crispy but some parts too thick so it didn’t taste good when I only got a bite of flour and no shrimp. Comes with rice! 111) Fried fish with sweet and sour sauce: pretty good. I like both the fish and sauce, but I was hoping the sauce would be stronger. Sweetness was good but could use a spicy kick. Lo mein with gailan and wonton and something with clams with soy sauce(forgot the names/numbers) weren’t my favorites but they tasted exactly how it sounds. The clams still had that«sea» taste that the sauce couldn’t cover so I didn’t like that. Our total was ~$ 40 for 4 items, and for four people we left pretty full with a small to-go box with rice. For this price, I think it’s fair, but I’m sure I can find a better tasting place for roughly the same price.

I was here for lunch along with my wife and nephew over the weekend. We were greeted by the staffs and seated almost immediately. We ordered the hot and sour soup, orange chicken, salted lemon fish, and a veggies dish. All dishes were good albeit somewhat oily… the fish would’ve been better if more sour. Overall it wasn’t a disappointing lunch.

This was our 2nd time dining at this restaurant and it was pretty good. We ordered some items we’ve never tried before, and they came out quite alright. Surprisingly, there was no wait when we arrived, even though we had 9 people. :) A table was already prepared for us, which seemed bizarre since they don’t even take reservations! The restaurant is pretty packed on a Saturday night. There is limited parking in the strip mall lot. Hopefully you won’t have to wait when you come… We ordered the following entrees to share: (1) Kung Pao chicken — tasty, flavorful, good way of making kung pao, 4 stars (2) Hainan chicken — wow, great find and would order again in the future, love the sauce to go with, 4 stars (3) Lamb stew — surprisingly good, impressed because my gramms can make the same thing at home, 4 stars (4) Basil clams in coconut sauce — uh, would not order this style of clams again. the coconut sauce was not great with clams, and 50% of the clams had sand in it, AGH! 3 stars (5) Fish fillet w/vegetables — rather bland, although fish was tender, 3 stars (6) Pork chops — pretty tasty, 3.5 stars (7) Braised pork belly — yes, will get these again, great flavor, lots of soy, 4 stars (8) Mapo tofu — typical mapo tofu! 3.5 stars, tofu was soft & silky, not too spicy. Service was on prompt, friendly, and we had a good time here. :) Yummy, wouldn’t mind returning again in the future!

This place is located near the Van Hanh Restaurant(which I believe is now closed and changing to a different restaurant) and is in the same plaza as Teacup House. There was plenty of parking when we went, and we were seated quickly on a weekday dinner. The place has a variety of Chinese food, and many items are around the $ 10 mark per dish. The service is a bit slow, we have to call to get our water refilled and they didn’t really take note or check up on us throughout the meal. The only other time they were fast was when they were picking up the bill. I actually like the food here, despite all the other Unilocal reviews. It’s not the best tasting Chinese food, but it fills a nice spot for a tastier version of a lot of dishes, and it’s well seasoned. Choosing the right dishes can be a bit difficult though, there were a few unpleasant smelling dishes from the nearby tables. My table ended up having some sort of Tilapia(?) dish with green onions, a soy sauce base, and a pickled citrus fruit. We also had the fried tofu with the gravy sauce and mushroom on top. I liked both dishes, I felt the fish dish would have been better with a ginger and soy flavor base, but the pickled citrus fruit was also good and interesting. I also enjoyed the fried tofu, the gravy went well with the dish overall and it tasted great. Overall I wouldn’t mind going back, there are a few other tasty looking dishes that I would like to try.

Located in a little strip plaza. Parking wasn’t bad at all during the week night. Half the restaurant was full when my BF and I decided to eat here. Water and a container of rice was brought out while we looked at the menu. This place is basically family style where you share the food you order and eat it with the rice. What we got: Crispy Walnut Shrimp($ 13.50): my favorite wedding food! Big pieces of shrimp deep fried and covered with honey and condensed milk kind of sauce. It was a lot more than I expected. Shrimp was nice and crispy and it wasn’t overly sauced. The walnuts weren’t that sweet though, but I don’t care for them anyway. French Style Filet Mignon($ 13): not as good as the Walnut Shrimp in my opinion, but still pretty good. Meat was soft and juicy and tasted exactly how it should have. Service: We were seated right by the counter so service was good for us. Water cups were refilled without being asked. Food came out in a timely manner. Mostly older people were eating in there at the time. They have macaroon ice cream near the front too!

Tasty Garden deserves a solid 4 stars in my book! We went at around 6:30pm on a Saturday night and there was a short 10 min wait for a table for 3. Go to the host and he’ll give you a number. They’ll call your number when your table is ready. Service: 4⁄5 For an Asian place, they provide pretty awesome service! They were attentive and always refilling our waters. The food took a while to come out(~20 min), but it was understandably so as the place was packed on a Saturday night. Every single seat was filled. Ambiance: 3⁄5 The atmosphere wasn’t too bad! It can get noisy during bustling hours though. The tables look relatively newish & they have nice looking giant fish tanks to give that extra Asian feel. Price: 4⁄5 Price was very reasonable. My parents and I ordered 4 dishes and our bill came out to be about $ 50. And we had filet mignon?! Not bad! Food: 4⁄5 There is absolutely no shred of doubt the food here is the star of the show! We ordered string beans in XO sauce($ 10), fried eggplant stuffed with shrimp($ 10), walnut shrimp($ 13), and my parents favorite dish, black pepper filet mignon($ 13). Everything was delicious but my favorites were the string beans in XO sauce(menu says it’s spicy but it wasn’t) and the walnut shrimp. I don’t eat red meat, but my parents absolutely loved the filet mignon. My mom said the beef was perfectly cooked and very tender in texture. I will definitely come back with my brother after he heals from his wisdom teeth extraction! I have my eye on their fried chicken wings with spicy salt and macaron ice cream sandwich: D
