Thank goodness I only bought a pound of cha-sieu(Chinese style bbq pork)! Dry as jerky, but the kicker, flavorless and w/o any honey sauce whatsoever. Dubiously disappointed. I ate the jerky, however, bc I hate waste! Had to eat it K style with wrapped w lettuce, fresh herbs, and seasoned green mangoes. Washed it down with wine. Roast duck also meh-… Next time, I will make the trip out to Ranch in CH or RH for Chinese deli meats. Ugh!

This place is newly built, But I really like to go the the one on Brookhurst and Westminster. The people there are nicer and look cleaner than the people who work here.

I finally dropped by here after reading so many positive reviews from my Vietnamese Unilocalies. Lien Hoa is a Vietnamese deli specializing in duck(roast or Peking), pork belly(lechon), and char siu. It is located on Bolsa near Bushard in Westminster. They offer take out only. I ordered 1 lb of char siu($ 4.49/lb), 1 lb of pork belly($ 10.50/lb), and a whole Peking duck($ 18). First of all, the char siu was OK. I prefer a more crispy exterior and bolder flavor on the inside. LH’s version is softer on the outside and blander on the inside vs what I prefer: 3 Stars. On the other hand, the duck was as advertised: Very good. It was smokey & crispy on the outside, and moist on the inside. Nonetheless, it wasn’t as good as some of the places in Monterey Park: 4 Stars. Lastly, the pork belly(lechon) was also very tasty. The skin was crispy on the outside, and the meat moist on the inside. My only rec is more seasoning: 4 Stars. The ambiance is a take out line w/a deli case. There are also baos and fresh chickens offered: 3 Stars. Secondarily, the service was surprisingly good. I forgot to order an item, and the cashier quickly weighed it and had another person cut it: 4 Stars. Now that 99 Ranch is closed in FV, Lien Hoa is my go to place for these type of items. The offerings can stretch into several meals as I add char siu or duck to my saimin, and cut char siu in small pieces to make fried rice. A deli like this is essential to an Azn household.

*** BBQ’d Goodies…(Westminster) *** This is the first time I’ve been to this Lien Hoa location after their old store burned down next door. My family has been coming here for years to buy most things BBQ’d(I want to say Chinese Style). The typical items that my family would purchase is the BBQ pork or duck. Both of these are my favorite because of the amazing flavor of both the meat and skin. If you bite into it you’ll know what I mean. When you’re inside just remember to have your cash ready and keep the line moving(especially since there’s a line now. ha ha ha…). The steps are place order, pass cash, get good food, exit. Very simple and don’t expect any extra chit-chat. It’s all about the food :-) Here’s what liked… * The BBQ pork and duck are sooo good. * They have lines now! Yay! I’m sooo glad this is one more store adopting the American style«line» over the one crowd«hand waving» method of the old country. * The service is very quick. * The store is bigger than before. Here’s what I didn’t like… * Parking sucks. Let’s just say that will be true for most establishments along the Bolsa strip. It just wasn’t designed for the high volume of traffic that exists today. * Remember to pass by the bank to get some cash. It’s CASHONLY! **************************** Food = very good Seating area = none. Take out only. Service = ha ha ha… I’m not going to answer this one :-) Restroom = none. Take out only.

Really good roasted meats here. O.G. Bolsa place. Crispy pork is really crunchy for only 1 day. Roasted duck is a very good bargain compared to Chinese restaurants. Supposedly my wife says this location is better than the other 2 Lien Hoa spots. Cash only.

Jam packed today due to Tet being 2 days away. I guess everyone wanted bbq meats to ring in the year of the monkey. This is the original bbq spot established since 1981. The roasted duck is bomb! Very tender and juicy. Don’t be intimidated when you see the meat hanging in the glass display. When you get your hands on the flavorful meat, you will be not disappointed. So delicious with the sweet/sour dipping sauce. The roasted pork is very good as well. Meat is moist and skin is crispy. Not dry like other places. I can just eat the skin right off the meat. Tastes even better than pork rinds. Here goes my NY’s resolution. But, the new year doesn’t begin until 02⁄08. So, it will be cheat days all weekend! :)) Great bbq meat varieties at this spot. Location is pretty hidden on Bolsa. It’s in the same plaza as Zen Vegeterian. Cash only!

I have been going here since a toddler, *ahem* 18 years ago *ahem* place has always been part of my huge family tradition. We always order the roasted duck or Peking duck here. Gotta love the huge family, regardless if it’s someone’s bday, Xmas, TET or whatever holiday or occasion it is… you can bet your li xi money that their will be roast duck and pork at the family get togethers next too the eggrolls from Phoc Luc, and springrolls from Brodard. If you are Vietnamese you all know what I’m talking about!!! If you aren’t just say Cai Gi… and continue to move on… You can’t really find any better spot then this for roasted duck. Besides the older Vietnamese lady sauce nazi at the register, this place will always stand the test of time and should be considered a historical land mark in Little Saigon which was built around 1978. Now please deliver my red envelopes — cash, check, credit card will be accepted. Cam on.

********************** 1475 ********************* Right across from the Asia Bolsa Center, a bit ghetto and not the cleanest block. This place has the BEST Roast Duck and Peking Duck. My parents buy it here for the road every single time we are in the OC. Yes, it’s only $ 17 per duck, and it’s that good. CASHONLY.

Best place to get your roast duck, pork, or chicken! I normally stop by here to grab their roast duck for approximately $ 20. Service is quick. It’s like 3 easy steps. Pick your BBQ, wait for it to be packed, pay, and then you’re out! Lien Hoa is extremely busy around the holidays but even when they’re slammed it seems like they have unlimited amounts of duck and pork to last throughout the day. Except sometimes they are out of Peking duck but that’s no biggy. Their bbq deli is the best around in my opinion!

Good pork belly, just the right amount of fat and seasoning. Only complaint was that skin was more hard than crunchy on my batch, but still good. ~$ 11/lb… Would they yell at me for ordering a ¼ snack? Duck here is good too, if it’s eaten right away.

Overhyped or we just tried on an off day ??? We had high hopes but they just didn’t deliver. Char sui completely DRY — no flavor — over salted. — 1 star Pork Belly — Overly fatty — too salty — 2 star Peking Duck Very dry. Hair/feathers still on pieces — 1 star After spending $ 40 trying all 3 dishes… we ended up tossing most of the food as it was pretty gross. Very disappointing. Sorry :(

BBQ duck, roast pork, and a lot of other goodies sold here. Prices are average and the meats taste better. However make sure you watch them when they weigh the meats and cut them. My mother told me that sometimes they weigh the meats but and cut/box less than what they are charging you for!

Duck duck. Duck! Thought I was gonna say goose?! Nah. This ain’t a game. It’s all about duck, pork belly and chicken at Lien Hoa’s. And if u haven’t tried their fowl, you’re missin out. I have yet to try their Peking version, but the roast duck is moist, flavorful, fatty and swimming in a delicious sauce bath. And a platter can easily feed a family of 5 – 6 at least. All u need is rice! And if ur not into rice, they also have steamed buns, rice noodles, baguettes, etc to accompany their delicious meat. So grab some cash fm the ATM, head to Westminister, and get you some goodness.

I finally made the trip out to Westminster to get me some roasted pork. There are two locations. The location is relatively small. You get in line, pick what you like, pick up some french bread or banh hoi(thin vermicelli) on the left, and you pay cash! I couldn’t see the price for the roasted pork and ordered 4 pounds. Luckily they only got me 1 pound and I added one more pound. I also ordered their roasted duck. Everything is done pretty quickly and the line moves pretty fast. The meat here are a little on the salty side so if you are watching your sodium intake or blood pressure, I would advise not to get so much. The roasted duck was way too salty for me and lacking the 5 spice taste I like. The roasted pork was on the salty side but I still like it. I would come again for the roasted pork. Prices are cheaper than in San Gabriel Valley. So more a 3.5.

BBQ Duck out of this world. It’s like, on steroids or something. A whole duck is only $ 17 bucks. Usually I gripe because duck meat is sparse and it has a lot of bones, but the meat here is pretty solid and flavorful. I kind of feel ruined now and refuse to go anywhere else whenever I have such a craving. They have other stuff too, but I mean, bbq duck, so…

We came here this morning to order a Roast duck, it was only $ 17! :) woohoo! My husband also ordered Duck feet, only $ 2 for a large box. How cheap is that? They stuffed it with so many pieces of duck feet. Can’t wait to go home and try everything! Limited parking in the lot. Cash only.

The best Peking Duck in America! Very moist, great sauce, flavor, juice, plenty of meat, and fresh! As close as you can get to making it in Vietnam!

I was craving ban hoi and heo quay all day so I decided to hop on over here to pick some up. Ok, we were having a party and my mom asked me to pick up some though I originally planned to go to their second location instead of this one. This place is now at a newer location just a couple doors down from the old store. They sell duck, pork and other bbq delights here. First off its cash only, they have a huge sign that says it and it caught my eye. Luckily I found some dough in my pocket so I was quite relieve since I didn’t wanna drive back down here again lol. I don’t prefer this location just based on how dirty the outside surrounding complex is but the interior is super clean. My mom really likes this place over any other place. We picked up their banh hoi and heo quay and the duck(i forgot how to say that in Vietnamese sorry lol). All were extremely delicious so points to my mom for credibility. Overall I really like the store just not the surrounding area. Its really dirty which could have made me lose my appetite but the food here is just too good to pass up. On a side note I should have gotten some bread here as well. They looked way better than Lee’s sandwiches but silly me didn’t. PS great store for bbq to throw a party PPS I wish they sold rabbit meat here… or lamb

New location! The place is located to the right of the old store, in the next lot tucked away in the corner. Parking is still a pain, but looks like there’s street parking off Dillow if you need it. This is a traditional Chinese/Vietnamese deli where you order cooked /roasted meats to go, and this place specializes in roast pork, duck, and soy/salted chicken. Even if you don’t speak Vietnamese(although it’ll make the transaction easier) you can order the pork by the pound and the fowl in whole or half. The food is priced per pound, and you pay the cashier(cash only). They also sell fresh(raw) duck, goose, chicken and pig. If you’re having a party, you can also order a whole roasted pig or piglet in advance. Yesterday I was craving the crispy roast pork and went to the Beach Blvd location after work, only to find out that they sold out on the pig, and all that was left was some asian style barbecued pork ribs and a few hanging ducks. Today I made it a point to go at noon, and even at lunchtime most of the pig was being sold already. There’s various cuts of the pig: — Ham portion which is lean, white meat. While a healthier cut, it can get dry and not the most popular cut($ 8.50/ lb) — Shoulder, semi fatty and boneless.($ 10.50/ lb) — Rib Belly, also known as pork belly and typically sold with bone in($ 10.50/ lb) I asked for the boneless, but got rang up as the rib belly. It was the same price per pound so that didn’t matter. The meat was oh so tender and the skin was nice and crispy. The down side of ordering roast pig is you really can’t keep it for leftovers, as the skin won’t be crispy the next day. So I ordered just a ½ pound(they gave me ¾, oh well) and had it for lunch. 4 stars for this visit.
