I was really pleased with my experience, Hilda did a great job taking off my previous gel nails and the hand dunk in wax at the end was a great addition to the experience.
That being said, it’s been 4 days since I got my gel manicure and more than half of the nails are peeling off. From previous gel experiences, nails have lasted up to 20 days… And these did not even last FOUR. I’m very upset with this. I could tell when I left the salon that the gels were much thinner than I’m used to at other nail salons. I went in 3 days after to get one that had already chipped fixed and the people were very annoyed to have to fix them.
I guess that’s what you get when you try to get a gel manicure for $ 20 instead of the regular $ 35.

I was relatively unimpressed with my experience here. I went in for a gel manicure and pedicure a few weeks ago and despite reading some not so compelling reviews here, decided to try it largely because of the $ 7 off coupon I found here. Not only did the owner (who was contacted by phone) refuse to honor the coupon which is STILL available on Unilocal,but my gel manicure polish was thin and you could see brush strokes, and 2 fingers had chipped only a few hours after my manicure. The two women working in there when I came in didn’t seem very happy to be there and weren’t particularly friendly.

I enjoyed my experience. I went without an appointment on New Year’s Eve and was accommodated immediately. Staff was pleasant, price was appropriate. I will return.

Worst manicure I’ve ever had. I went the Monday after Christmas and there was nobody else in there. I got the sloppiest manicure I’ve ever seen, I asked the girl a few times to please clean the polish off of my skin around the nail, she seemed pleased to just leave it.
One of the nails came out so bad the the polish gunning on my nail and skin. I asked her to please redo the nails and she refused, muttering under her breath «your nails are short…» Which they are but I’ve never had a problem at any other salon. Such a joke, first class my ass. 12 $ manicure, 5 $ tip and I still got attitude

I called ahead to make pedicure appointments and when I arrived the staff were rude and told me if we wanted pedicures it would be at least 45 minutes without regard of my appointment. They lost a customer today, but I am glad this all happened because I discovered and highly recommend joy nails and spa.

This place is amazing! I walk in and I feel so welcome. The gel polish stays on forever, and I work with my hands so that’s really saying something. The atmosphere is VERY relaxing– I almost fall asleep during a pedicure. They are extremely professional and offer discounts often. Miria is the owner, and she and her staff are the best around!
