This was a very good experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful and the portions were large. This review is based only on the hot-pot experience, I have yet to try their other dishes(but I do plan on going back). The ingredients for the hot pot were very fresh and had very good flavor to them. I tried two different broths, both were very good. I got one of them spicy and it was almost too hot to eat. The flavor was very good, but it was just pretty spicy. They do carry a couple beers like Bud, Corona, and a few others.

I’ve only been here once, and it was a pretty good experience. I love the fact that they emphasize their menu around hot pot, one of my favorite meals of all time by the way. While I am partial to Cambodian hot pot, I do have to admit I love Vietnamese hot pot as well. First of all, the thing I liked the most was the broth. The spicy broth was my favorite, the Korean broth was tasty, however, if you’re not a fan of kimchi or more sour tastes, you may be more partial to the spicy broth(more on the sweet side to me). I really like the fact that you have so many options, and if you want, you can even split a hot pot with two different broths by this nifty divider. The things that brought down my rating though, were the items to cook in the broth. I wasn’t a major fan of the prices for ordering various items individually. So we ended up getting the chef’s special which is a better value when you look at all that you get. I was not a fan of the texture of the noodles, and it took a really long time to receive our requested rice. The mussels came out with ice still on it, and the shrimp wasn’t peeled(which is more of a personal preference thing). Overall, I really enjoyed Saigon Hot Pot, and I really enjoy the fact that everything is customizable. I just wish they would change their noodles…

Came here after I Unilocaled«hot pot». I’m upset. First off… they do mongolian style hot pot here. They throw in some phở and korean dishes to expand to Vietnamese and Korean, but they should really just stick to specializing in hot pot. BROTH: Ordered the hot pot with both House Original Broth and House Original Spicy Broth. The spicy broth was pretty spicy. Would recommend getting that and either the original or maybe the vegetable mushroom. Not sure what Korean Style broth was… don’t want my hot pot tasting like kim chi. Cost per person for broth is $ 3. Since I ate alone, they skimped on the broth. Should have put more in my pot. Maybe if there was another table and we paid more than $ 3 for broth, I would have gotten more. MEATS: Ordered the Beef Eye of Round($ 4) and the Beef Tongue($ 4). The Beef Tongue came out pre-cooked. I sent it back and requested raw beef tongue. Both meats were of low quality and didn’t taste good. You guys know what USDA Prime is? USDA Choice? I think I ate USDA Select quality meat… the lowest quality there is. SEAFOOD: Shrimp with Shell/Head On($ 4) — probably the best value of all. Got 8 fairly large shrimp for my order… about size 31 – 40 or bigger. VEGETABLES: Baby Bok Choy($ 2) and Spinach($ 2) — could have been of higher quality. Seemed not fresh and a little wilted. Probably not noticable after you boil them. FUNGI: Shiitake Mushrooms($ 2) — you don’t get much of these so remember to fish them out. Service was similar to other reviews… young kids that probably don’t know that much about food, service or mongolian hot pot. My waiter was nice though and attentive to my needs. However, service alone won’t get my vote and I can’t recommend the hot pot to anyone who’s been to a good place.

This is a new favorite of mine. I’ve been here 3 times since the grand opening a couple months ago. This is wonderful authentic Vietnamese food. I know I’m white and everything, but I eat Vietnamese food A LOT and consider myself a reasonable judge. Food: The quality of the food is top notch. I have had the hot pot twice, and the Bún bò Hué once. The hot pot was fantastic! Broth was spicy and full of flavor. The meat/veggies/seafood for the hot pot was plentiful and high quality. The Bún bò Hué was AMAZING! Really, it’s something to behold. Its the signature dish of Hué, the central region of Vietnam and since the owner hails from that region, you’d expect it to be fantastic. It does not disappoint. Ambiance: Quiet to average noise level. Brand new building. Very clean. They have a range of table sizes. Good for singles, couples, and groups. Service: To be truthful, the service during the grand opening was a little spotty(as noted in previous reviews). They didn’t quite anticipate the huge volume of customers. However, in subsequent visits(most recently last week 6÷8÷12) their service has improved greatly. During my last 2 visits, the staff was friendly, responsive, and great with suggestions. Overall verdict: Highly recommended. If you are by yourself, try Bún bò Hué, if with a group, try hot pot.

I wanna give this place 4 stars simply because of the negative reviews. This is not a bad place at all. The server, who I believe was the owner was a very nice guy, a little awkward at times but I chalk that up to cultural differences. I didn’t even get the hot pot though, I got the phở and it was delicious. The music was tacky and I loved it. It was all very authentic, it seemed at least. No alcohol, but they have an array of energy drinks which I found funny. We were the only two people there so I just advise to try it out soon because it may not be open much longer.

Just went there today for the first time and definitely will NOT be returning. Our meal took forever to come out(40 min?) and we ordered 4 bowls of the special phở. It was the worst phở I’ve ever had-oily, lacking flavor, the broth was only semi hot, and consisted of only two types of meat.

Although the grand opening of this place was originally scheduled for March 30th, they had to delay it to April 6th because they were missing some paperwork to officially open for business. I brought my mother here along with my sister to try it. Since it’s called«Saigon Hot Pot,» we had to order the Hot Pot to complete the experience. Hence, this whole review is only about the Hot Pot. I noticed that all of the waiting staff were basically kids that were still in high school. I have no problem with this, except it seemed like only one girl was serving and waiting on every table while the rest of them just stood there and hung out by the cashier. I felt bad for my waitress because she was doing a good job as far as checking up on us and bringing anything extra that we needed. The décor of the place is beautiful with cute little decorations throughout the restaurant. The menu is a little confusing to understand. There’s a separate menu if you do not want Hot Pot. If you do, they’ll give you a sheet of paper to mark all of the things that you want it to come with, kind of like what some sushi restaurants do. Don’t underestimate the size of the portions that come with each plate. They can be huge! For a table of 4, I would only order 2 plates of vegetables and 4 plates of noodles… TOPS. And I wouldn’t order more than 7 or 8 plates of meats. We couldn’t finish everything we ordered because I didn’t know the plates were so big. Our waitress sort of teased us because she brought out all of our food before bringing our pot of broth. So we sat at our table for 10 minutes, just staring at the uncooked food, before we could actually start eating it. We ordered the«original» broth and it was delicious ASIT. No extra seasoning needed… unless you like your food EXTRA spicy. There were some things that I didn’t care for, such as the bamboo(too sour), tofu(had a weird taste to it), and potatoes(comes in huge slices and took too long to cook). All of our meats were good, just make sure that if you order certain things like the eye of round steak or the beef tongue, don’t cook it too long or it’ll ruin the taste of it. Hot Pot is all about knowing how to cook the food. If you undercook or overcook certain dishes, it can ruin the flavor of it. And if you need more broth, the waitress will come over with this HUGE kettle and pour some more into your pot… it’s SO cool! It’s definitely worth trying this place soon because there are offering 15% off your bill for their grand opening. Hot Pot is something that I can only eat once in a great while but it’s perfect for huge gatherings and dinner with friends. I’ll be coming back soon to try the other dishes that they have. I heard their Bun Bo Hue is really good. Stay tuned for my future update!
