Big Lot’s

If youre im the mood for a treasure hunt… this be a great spot. #WestSac Im a regular here even if i dont check in everytime. I used to work at this store ;) anywhoo the review…
PARKING-​shared, plentiful and well lit (watch for people on bikes or pushing carts thru the lot because this is a high foot traffic area also)
LOCATION-​easy to find and easy to get to. Its (being the whole parkinglot) adjacent from sac city offices and sac city college anex its busy and yes you will see homless people (DEAL WITH IT)
STORE– somewhat scattered in the layout but organized and well faced and signed on shelve level. Well lit. Not always isle clean and free of stuff but they change stuff around alot.
CUSTOMER SERVICE-​Outstanding its always amazing to me how people keep a smile on their face when being yelled at. So be nice cuz these folks work hard.
MERCH– its a crap shoot. Its a close out store so that means they get rejects, small batches of brand name stuff, end of pallent stuff from other retailers or end of the season stuff. So if its something epic you find buy a few cuz they may not né back. They do have everything a regular store has as far as depts. Food, pets, chemicals, health and beauty, electronics, crafts, car, home décor, kitchen, storage, lawn n garden, ect.

I don’t enjoy the location of this Big Lots however they really improved their store over the last several years. The store itself is super clean and very organized. I shop here to purchase discounted protien bars and PB2 ($ 4.00 here, I usually pay $ 6.00 at GNC or Amazon). I am very obessive with food expiration dates and everything I have purchased has a decent date. The employees are very nice and welcoming as well.

This location is unfortunately located in the heart of West Capitol Ave; the slums in West Sacramento. You’re surrounded by modern day zombies, and the stench of homelessness is present at times.
Parking is always convenient, and you’ll want it! Thieves and muggers are lurking about, so the closer you can park the better!
The store itself is good. No complaints about the products they sale of the service they provide. If you find your self in this slice of the twilight zone just have your personal safety mechanisms ready! You’ll never know when you’ll need it!

Found some good grocery deals here today: 50 cents a box for whole wheat barilla pasta, 50 cent cans of corn, $ 1 box of wheat thins, $ 1 bag of fig nuetons. Always worth checking out if your in the neighborhood.
Can be hit or miss here with finding stuff but I’ve found some great items hete
Kind of sketchy neighborhood but seems like the safest time to go is in the morning. Just be aware of your surroundings.

Big furniture section and nice workers.

um… i walked in here out of morbid curiosity and i found nasty tablewear and furniture that … alright i’m not going to be a snob but i pictured michelle weinburger saying «i’d like to go… away».

I’ve been coming here regularly for the $ 3 DVDs. Got some titles I like such as Caberet and ED-​TV.
I’ve recently become interested in building a portable server for coffee shop use. I’ve decided to build the server and network hubs inside a suitcase rather than spend a fortune on mobile rack mount cases. I went by Big Lots today and found a nested set of cordura luggage with two wheeled suitcases, a collapsing duffel, and an overnite bag for $ 50. The quality was excellent and I know I will be able to fit the server, network devices, keyboard, and monitor into some combination of these suitcases.
When I went to the checkout stand to pay, the cashier scanned the tag (which had $ 50 on it) and the computer showed $ 25. What a deal. Sometimes Big Lots discounts an item, but they don’t get around to updating the tag.
Summary of this rather long narrative: The good deals continue and some great deals can be sometimes found.

there are some nice finds here. much better than the dollar store or 99 cents store. many of big lot’s items are actually quality items that you would have been willing to pay full price for if you saw them in another store. staff are helpful and friendly. store is neat and clean. lots of close parking.
