they deleted my first review which was a fair assessment of my experience-It was my anniversary dinner and was like eating somebody’s leftovers. I also challenged them to step it up or pack it up, time will tell…

Great food at an excellent price in a nice location with a beautiful outdoor seating area. What’s not to love? We’d been interested in checking out Town and Gown for ages now, and we’re really glad we did. We had a very nice meal out on their outdoor patio, surrounded by vertical garden towers with a variety of herbs and lettuces growing in them, and flowering planter baskets. It was a very pleasant atmosphere for dinner. The service was friendly and prompt, and the food was delicious. I had the salmon with veggies and mashed potatoes, and my husband had the burger. Both were really excellent. We’re not huge eaters, but we polished off every crumb. And to top it all off, the total bill was less than $ 30. How does Town and Gown do it? I don’t know, but I assure you I’ll be back to try, like everything else on their menu.

I ate there with my girlfriend and we liked it. My only complaint is the eggs benedict isn’t a poached egg, I will wait the extra time for poaching…

This is a hidden gem on the hill that has awesome food and drinks! Generous portions are given during lunch and dinner and the main bartender Chris is very funny and engaging! I would suggest this place for any professional or informal gatherings and join them on Saturday nights from 10PM-1AM for Vibe N Spirits, to enjoy a live DJ!

Decent food, not amazing, but I’ve never left dissapointed or hungry. great prices, and good portions of food. Recommended for brunch. Can’t beat the pitchers of mimosas on a Sunday!

Good service, horrible eggs«Benedict». Their«hollandaise» sauce seemed like melted cheese on top of an over easy egg. Worst I’ve ever had.

Summary: Recommend Location: Great! Décor: Good! Food/Drink: Good! Service: Good! Price: Great! Details: I organized an event here with about ten people on a sunday. Although they don’t usually do reservations(especially on sundays), they made an exception and let us have our space. Sunday brunch can result in long wait times, because this place stays really busy. The location is very nice and the outdoor seating option is great on a beautiful day. Unluckily, there were looming clouds and some rain when we went. Parking is not the greatest and the current roadwork right outside the establishment makes things a little worse. Don’t expect the best food you’ve ever eaten, but it is good and very consistent. I had the weekend special with the sausage and pancake(with bananas for a little extra). The pancake was good and took up a full plate(see pictures). My friend had the biscuits and gravy and as a gravy aficionado, she said that it tasted above average. The prices here are very very reasonable. Who can complain about $ 12 mimosa pitchers. I did get negative comments about the bloody mary’s though(incase that’s what you prefer). The service was great and they were very accommodating to the needs of the group. Food came out quickly for a group of 10. I enjoyed my experience here and will be back sometime to check out the rest of their menu.

Honestly, I was a little disappointed in my visit to Town & Gown. My hubby and I noticed it one night while siting on the patio of 9 Irish and, upon reading the Unilocal reviews, were super excited to check this place out. We showed up later on a Friday night and were immediately seated downstairs. I suppose most of the seating is upstairs, but guessing from the many college-aged kids wandering down the steps in suits and dresses it appeared that the place had been overwhelmed by Greek life formal-goers seeking some dinner to fill their stomachs before an intense night of partying. In other words, I don’t think we quite got the full Town & Gown experience. We ordered multiple things off the menu including wine, ravioli, french toast, fruit, yogurt, and dessert. Shout out to breakfast served all day. Everything was just okay. Probably what I would produce in my own kitchen. I wouldn’t say the food was expensive, but considering the quality and blandness, my heart sunk a little. I wouldn’t be surprised if the yogurt was scooped out of a Yoplait cup. Not to mention that my dessert was still semi-frozen upon arrival. Maybe I just made a handful of bad ordering choices? Either way I probably won’t be back to try it again, hence the 2 stars versus 3.

I was home sick and wanted breakfast. I saw that this place delivered… I thought the price was a bit high.(Delivery was 4 dollars) totally worth it. The pancakes were huge! And utterly delish! First time ordering and was completely impressed. Will definitely check out in person AND order again. 3 pancakes will easily last me 3 meals. Loved it!

Mediocre experience. Average food. The pasta sauce was like water. They should make it more thick.

I should’ve wrote my review earlier. I went to Town & Gown when they opened and loved it. Maybe it was the eggs benedict, or one of very few patios in Greater Lafayette, or catching up with my girlfriends over a three hour brunch, but I really enjoyed it. Then I went back. My boyfriend and I stopped in on a Sunday morning for breakfast. We waited at least 5 minutes(probably closer to 8 if we’re really counting) before being acknowledged, and finally were told the wait was 20 minutes. We agreed, thought about it, and decided to go elsewhere — they were that unpleasant. We’ve been back one time since, and the service was less than stellar. If you have amazing food, I might tolerate mediocre service, but I definitely won’t for average food. Hopefully they can get it together.

This place was packed Sunday around noon, and rightfully so. The food here is amazing! I had the smoked salmon omelet with mushrooms. I would definitely come here again to try one of the other omelets, bennies, or bistro egg round which I heard were great as well. Not so sure about their lunch/dinner menu – this place seems more like a breakfast/brunch place. One tip: don’t park under the trees on the west side of the restaurant unless you want your car COVERED in bird droppings.

Had a great experience here at Town and Gown. We made a reservation for a big party(12 + 8 kids) and requested seating outside. Our tables were set up with water and menus when we arrived. The menu is a crowd pleaser, with some basic breakfast items and some more exciting things. $ 12 Mimosa pitchers — check + Our server was friendly and responsive and dealt with the large party very well. Would like to try again! It’s great to have another West Lafayette brunch spot.

The food is wonderful. I went there twice over the Labor Day weekend, once when it was busy, and once when it wasn’t. Both times, we were served at the same quick speed. The décor is also perfect, and everyone’s very nice. The first time I went, I ordered a coffee. I didn’t like it(though the people sitting at the next table over thought it was great, so it could be a personal taste thing), and when I told the waitress, she took it away and removed it from my bill. Very professional service!

I had high hopes for this place. The menu looks great, the prices are very reasonable, even by West Lafayette standards(many breakfast items are $ 5-$ 7) and they have a beautiful outdoor patio that actually allows dogs, which is a rarity in this town. Unfortunately I didn’t think the food was that great. I had the Bistro Egg Round($ 5.50, fried egg, cheese and mushrooms on top of a croissant). The egg was cooked perfectly over medium but the croissant tasted like a stale grocery store croissant, not anything you would get at a bakery, and the potatoes that came with it were seriously undercooked. I’m sure we will go back because of the aforementioned positives, and I’ll try something else next time and will hopefully be able to update with a better review.

Wow! This place was phenomenal! Great wait staff! Great breakfast menu! Great vibes.(The parking does suck but what can they do, you know?) I had the weekend special(2 eggs, toast, one BIG pancake, and the Town & Gown speciality fries) while my husband had the black bean burger. (Disclosure: the waiter turned out to be an ex-co-worker of my husband and the chef was somebody who lived in our apartment complex. We had no idea either one of those people would be there but it made our experience even cooler.)

Hooray! Love this place. We had a very good server, and an amazing meal at a great price. I had the tasty ribeye with roasted veg and cheese tuille mashed potatoes that were divine(all for less than you’d pay for the meat in a grocery) . The tuille was a great compliment to the twice-mashed potatoes with a bit of saffron. And the veg were fresh, and not the sad, steamed afterthought you get at some places. Janet had a superb burger on a brioche bun with some of those roasted potatoes. Touchdown! We capped the meal by splitting a heavenly piece of cheesecake. Didn’t have alcohol, but it’s available, along with a long list of coffee drinks. Haven’t had breakfast here, but we will. Reservations on weekends recommended, particularly when Purdue is in session. Try them out! They deserve success!

3.5 stars. A cute location with good breakfast food. I stopped by here one weekend with my parents and was pleasantly surprised with how nicely decorated and comfortable the outside patio area was(brought fido with me). The waitress was very sweet. I ordered a build your own omelette with spinach, mushrooms, provolone, and tomatoes with a side of home style fries. While mostly tasty, the omelette was a bit bland and the potatoes were too oily. I would still come again to try the other offerings, especially when sitting outside is so nice.
