McDonald’s

I have been to this Mickey D’s a few times and my last visit was like all the rest. I went here on a Saturday night around 11 at night and I had no problems with my order. You would think the service would be slow due to all the drunk college students around, but the staff seemed calm and collective and got my order to me in a timely manner. The staff is nice and never seems to hate their jobs like many other McDonald’s employees and all-​in-​all this place is run well for a late night munch spot.

First star goes towards rebecca at the front register. She was polite, reminded me of my ex-​wife (she lives in Tuscon with her new husband, she’s pretty big on the Unilocal there).
Second star goes to the french fries. I was eating them, and it reminded me of this restaurant in Nepal that serves a variation of a french fry, except they use paprika and mayonnaise instead of salt.
Third star is awarded to the «Deluxe» burger I had. What a monumental experience this was, it’s a peak in my short time in the West Lafayette area. It had the meat burger, it had the bun, it had lettuce and tomatoes from the ground, and when I asked for ketchup instead of mustard, it was on there. Orgasmic.
Fourth star goes towards cleanliness of a the trash recipticle. First of all, it wasn’t overflowing at all, and it did not smell awful (I basically put my head in the can to smell it). They had definitely done a good job of keeping used diapers out of it.
Fifth star goes towards the songs played over the speakers. They played «Maps» by Maroon 5, which as my kids say, is my current «jamz» (haha, sorry for embarrassing you Marie and James).

Half-​filled fries, baconless «bacon buffalo ranch mcchicken», and anti-​friendly (yes ANTI, not Unfriendly) shift manager… that’s what you should expect from the crew working saturday night at 11pm.
I went through the drive thru at 11pm on saturday June 28^th. I ordered 2 lg fries, a medium fry, a bacon buffalo ranch mcchicken, a 10pc and a 4pc mcnugget. The girl who took my order was polite and friendly. The female shift manager at the other end handing out the food was the opposite. After waiting several minutes and no «hello, we’re just waiting on XYZ, it’ll be right out for you», the shift manager appeared at the window in a hurry, shoved two bags of food at me, said «have a good night» while NOT looking at me, and started shutting the window before i could (barely) manage to get a grip on the handful of bags. So i checked the bag for the items i ordered, and drove 5 minutes home. Excited about my food and ready to put the rude and poor excuse of a manager behind me, i opened the bags to half-​filled non-​fresh fries and no bacon on my BACON buffalo ranch mcchicken. What a waste of $ 13. Sure glad to know my money supported her worthless disinterested job that she’ll continue to keep because how much you wanna bet McDonalds will never see this post, and if they do the store manager is likely just as indifferent to running a good business as his/​her staff is to providing good (not great) customer service and food. But then again they «just» serve students so what do they care, right?

If you go here, go inside to get your food. I cannot count the number of times I have gone through the drive through and have been given the wrong order. I don’t know if they are just sloppy with who they give the orders to or if the kids working here just don’t give a shit and throw whatever they want in a bag. Either way, I have had too many issues with the drive-​through service to recommend it to anyone. However, when I go inside to eat, I don’t have many issues. They are fairly fast at making the food and nothing tastes better than a greasy $ 1 burger at 3 AM after the Cactus has closed. Be warned, that if you come here at night on a Thursday, Friday, or Saturday you will have to deal with a line of drunks. If you’re also drunk it’s not bad, but it can be irritating when you’re sober. In all, the food is crap but cheap. I would only recommend going here if you need a drunk snack and don’t care what they give you. Otherwise, they will screw up your order and give your whatever the hell they decide to put in your bag. Save yourself the trouble and avoid this place if you are craving a particular menu item.

You can never go wrong with a Big Mac, but I have stopped trusting this McDonald’s with quarter pounders after I received one that I didn’t think was fully cooked. It seems like the training or management has gone downhill at this location. I’ve been there about once a week since last fall, and the problems only started this summer. Both recent visits I had to wait more than 5 minutes for food even though I was the only one in line, there was the bad quarter pounder, and the staff never hands you your receipt. They lay it on the counter and if you don’t remember to grab it, you won’t have one in your bag. It is nice that this location is open 24 hours (even inside) but I play it safe with what I order (something they can’t screw up).

We grabbed a bite here yesterday and if you have to eat at a Mcd’s, this is a good one to visit. I don’t each much of their food, it’s the boys I have with me that idolize their french fries. I’m constantly looking for something to satisfy my appetite that isn’t too unhealthy and yesterday I saw a fruit and walnut snack on the board.
I asked the employee about it and he pulled it out of the refrigerator to show me! I thought that was a nice response and since it didn’t say «yogurt with walnuts and apple slices» I wouldn’t have known the ingredients without looking.
We got through the line pretty quickly, but I did notice a backup later and they were writing down your name on your receipt and calling it out when the food was ready. It reminded me of Portillos (the number part, not the food part).

For the amount of business and traffic this location gets, that are pretty fast at making your food. There is constantly people eating here at all hours of the night and it is usually clean and mostly friendly (sometimes the exceptional employee isn’t having a good day). I’ve had just about everything off of the menu here and I haven’t had a problem with any of it. The restaurant is very nice inside and provides free internet and I see people studying often inside. It’s very close to almost everything, whether you are coming home from a drunken bar night out or are just craving some late-​night chicken nuggets, it won’t take long for you to get there at all.

I like stopping at this McDonald’s, if I’m going to stop at one. The service is always friendly, and they always get my order right. Although I didn’t really like what I ended up ordering today (Asian salad and a small frozen strawberry lemonade), it was exactly what I ordered and it was through the window quickly. I was practically out on the street when I first got in the drive-​through line, and it didn’t take more than five minutes for me to be back on the road again.

Best service ever tonight thanks

I dropped by this McDonalds with three bus loads of U.S. Army service men and women in the middle of the day, and this establishment handled the surprised onslaught with great effectiveness. We were in and out with our orders within 15 minutes. That is over 90 people served within minutes, that is effective management. The building was simply beautiful. I hope to do more surprise visits with my passengers.
