Very bad experience. I think the one who did my hair is very unprofessional. I was upset after washing my hair days later. And they charged me very high price which is unreasonable.

Not willing to honor Groupon and rather than apologizing for the ‘confusion’ they simply stated, «call Groupon and get your refund» we won’t honor it.
They were also very unprofessional and short on the phone.
There are much better businesses in DC — don’t go to this one.

Ury is an absolute professional. Both times I have gone to him he has been fast, accurate and successful in attaining the look I was aiming for. Ury made me look and feel like a movie star! I have received endless compliments on my hair even months after my appointment with him. Ury’s styles grow out flawlessly, which is why I plan to return to his chair when I am back in DC. He is very knowledgeable and passionate about hair, products and styles, always keeping up with the current trends.

Horrible experience! I bought my daughter a keratin treatment for her bday and they made a 2.5 hour appt for her (she’s had it before in less time) and the stylist tried to comb out her very curly hair DRY! Then 40 mins later called me and said she couldn’t do it until 3 weeks later! I was running around doing errands and had to leave and come get her. There are no people of color in the salon and I suspect she didn’t feel comfortable doing mixed hair. I called reception and was told that I could make an appt for 3 weeks out but I had no other choice because I bought a groupon. Good thing groupon has good customer support!

I am surprised to be the first reviewer for this place, but anyway. My review is not about the salon in general, but rather about one specific hair stylist: Adina. She has been doing my hair for four years already. I get a haircut, color and highlights here about every 7 weeks. She is extremely talented! Believe it or not, I get compliments on my hair regularly from strangers in elevators, buses and trains regularly, and I am not even one of those effortlessly beautiful people who would look good with any haircut. Adina Is European (Swedish), she trained in Europe, and it really shows. Her haircuts are not generic, they are more stylish, edgy, and hip. She is also great at styling my wavy hair. No hairdresser before her was able to do that. Everyone just straightened my hair, and it looked generic and unflattering for my face shape. Adina, however, styles it so that it remains wavy and keeps the volume, but at the same time looks tamed and polished. The color and highlights are also great: we rotate various combinations of various shades of brown and blonde, so I always look season-​appropriate and natural. I even brought two other people to Adina, and she did a great job on them as well, and they were of different age groups, and had very different hair types and face shapes. The only drawback is the price. it is outrageous. The cut is $ 80, and the color/​highlights job is $ 160. Plus the tips. Oh well, it is Georgetown. I can hardly afford it, but I keep coming back, because it is really good. Highly recommend.

I go to Semra for my eyebrows (she does tinting and shaping) and they look amazing. I have also had several very good facials and makeup done by her. She carries really quality products. I had my hair done by Madi and it looks awesome. this place is quite expensive, but for me, it is worth it.

I love Sara Lord at Ury and Associates! She has been cutting, coloring and straightening my hair for a number of years. Even if it’s been over a month that my hair has been cut, it is still picture perfect. I consistently get compliments and Sara is to thank for that. My hair is naturally very dark brown, almost black, and because of Sara’s expert color skills, it has never looked artificial. In fact, people are surprised to find out that I get my hair colored — she is that good. I couldn’t recommend Sara more highly.

I absolutely love this place! I’ve been getting my hair cut and colored by Sara Lord for years and I wouldn’t go to anyone else. She recently did the Keratin anti-​frizz treatment on me and it worked wonders on my hair! The treatment is formaldehyde free and made my hair soft, silky and much more manageable. Sara always knows everything about all the latest and best treatments for your hair. She is fabulous, you have to go see her!

Don’t waste your time (and money) with any other salon in DC!!! Ury and Associates is THE place to go for all of your haircut, coloring, and skin needs.
Sara Lord is AWESOME – she has «the eye» for the right cut and color. Her talent is AMAZING. I get compliments about my hair (and especially my color since I’m now a red) almost daily. Did I also mention that she’s been in Vogue magazine???
I also see Semra (upstairs) for my eyebrows. The BEST. Even brows, painless, and perfect everytime!
