It used to be the hotspot of GW and foggy bottom, making for that great late night craving of bacon, warm chicken, ceasar dressing, and tomatoes, or to satisfy and serve as a filling and affordable $ 7 dinner as well. But lately it has been failing. Last night I went for probably what would have been the eleventh or so time and did not get the service I expected. I had waited and waited for what was seeming to take forever. It wasn’t even busy yet, 12AM on a firday night, and they had forgotten to start making my order despite having already paid. After having soon realized that, they were quick to correct the mistake. What a shame.

The veggie crêpe had a lot of veggies and just the right amount of cheese. The crêpe was crunchy. I’ve never had crunchy crepes before but it was good. The interior of the shop was run down and a bit dirty. The booth fabric was ripped and worn. The staff was very polite.

Solid drunk food. Cool layout and open late! A young professional couldn’t ask for more. I got the prosciutto(a crêpe with prosciutto, cheese, and tomatoes) and it was the perfect late night snack, especially when you have to drunkenly find your way home. Looking forward to biting into one of these bad boys sober.

Tasty crêpe — but there is way too much cheese. The bottom was dropping with grease. I like the variety on the menu and the prices are affordable. I might stick with sweet crepes only for now on.

I recommend this place for crêpe lovers. And since I’m an Obama fan, I got the Obama crêpe(Nutella, strawberries, blueberries and bananas) It was fantastic and generous portion too

TL;DR — Everyone. Loves. Crepes. Five stars for affordable eats and large crepes that don’t skimp. Food: The menu is split between sweet and savory crepes. Most of the sweet crepes are filled with nutella. The savory crepes appeal to a wider palate. There’s just enough options on the menu to appeal to anyone. And if you need to make modifications, I’m sure you can just ask. I’d say the sweet crepes have a liiiitle too much nutella, so I recommend asking them to go medium on the nutella. Service: Excellent and friendly, they were always adequately staffed to handle long lines. Interior: I visited recently(April) and it was kind of warm inside because of the crêpe pans they had going. But other than that, there were enough tables inside to accommodate. Beware the lunch rush though. Parking should be easy if you’re coming at night. And you should, because this place will become your last stop on those tipsy Saturday nights.

Outstanding little place for a quick bite. We got the sweet and savory combo and it was delicious! Strawberry crêpe was great!

My friends and I were so happy to find this place late one Friday night. After several disappointing attempts to find a place that was still serving food at 1am(what’s up with that, DC?!), we called to confirm. A pleasant voice assured us they had food, so we hurried on over. And walked straight into a club, or so we thought. The music was pumping! It was so loud we could barely contain ourselves from dancing, but the signs on the wall warned us «No dancing allowed.» ?? Wonder what the back story is there. No matter, the tunes were good and so were the crepes! The chocolate was oozing in all the right places. We loaded our sweet crepes with so much goodness, we could barely finish them. The menu has something for everyone-chocolate, fruit, marshmallows. Yum. Service was also friendly and quick. You would think this place would be kind of dead at 1am, but there was a steady stream of customers. I don’t know what the daytime crowd is like, but this is a good place to grab something to eat late at night or early in the morning. Especially if you’re in the mood for chair dancing.

When I leave a restaurant feeling happier and less stressed than when I walked in, there’s a good chance I’m going to give it five stars. After dinner I was craving something sweet so my Dad and I decided to visit this spot. The first thing we noticed was the fun mix of music that was playing. We ordered an «Angel» which has bananas, nutella, and strawberries. The woman behind the counter was nice enough to split the crêpe in half so that we each would have our own half size crêpe instead of having to use a fork and knife to split it. Her and the other woman and man behind the counter were kind and happy even though they had just gotten through a rush of customers. The only thing I don’t understand is the«dancing is prohibited sign» but I’m thinking something pretty crazy must have happened to get this sign put up in the first place.

I landed late last night and the hubby and I wanted a quick bite to eat. This was near our hotel and the reviews looked pretty good(I was pumped to see a good review from Unilocal friend Kathleen M.) The establishment was nice and clean, dimly lit, and when we arrived around 9(an hour before closing) farely empty. We opted for the combo where you get one savory crêpe, one sweet crêpe, and a drink. The price was around $ 13…few dollars more than the 2007 price that was under $ 10 but still a great deal. The crepes were huge and stuffed with yumminess. I had the caesar and honestly didn’t even finish it(which should make you assume I boxed up my sweet crêpe) Anyhoot, both crepes were so good! Savory is definitely the word to describe it. They make the crepes right in front of you after you order so they are fresh, hot, and soft with just the right amount of crispness around the edges. The cheese is ooey gooey goodness on top of those juicy meats inside. Again, it was huge so I didn’t even finish but trust me I tried. My savory crêpe that I only took a bite of to try while fresh had Nutella, strawberries, and bananas. It was delicious as well. It was even decent when I ate it later but would definitely wanna stick with eating it fresh if possible. Drinks here are just can sodas by the way. All in all, very yummy and something different if you want a quick bite that’s not your regular burger/chicken joint.

If you’re a GW student, chances are that Crepeaway has been at some point synonymous with«late night munchies» or «drunk food.» Would I recommend coming here for quick service, or the best crepes you’ve ever tasted? Absolutely not. But on the other hand, if you’re looking for filling, portable late night food that isn’t McDonalds, Crepeaway has to be the #1 choice in the area. So by all means, stop in on your way back from a night out. Nothing beats carbs & cheese as you’re drunkenly stumbling home. But would I ever stop in during the daylight, when I’m not fueled by alcohol? Probably not.

This place is awesome, and the quality is on par with what you’d expect overseas in France. Prices are extremely reasonable and the menu is very diverse, which makes crepeaway a great spot to frequent for dessert or an actual meal. In terms of something savory: my recommendation would be to try the«south beach.» If you’re looking for a dessert crêpe, anything with oreos or nutella is incredible. All that being said, you really can’t go wrong with anything here.

This place rarely Pros: –taste –cost –location(close to GW) –hours(open late) Cons: –the place gets noisy/crowded on weekends. Alot of people come here to grab food after a night of clubbing

Most epic crêpe I’ve ever had. I got an Oreo, banana, and Nutella crêpe. It was amazing. Most crepes are very thin and fall apart. This crêpe was the equivalent to a deep dish pizza. It was full of toppings and didn’t fall apart. The thickness of the crêpe makes it easy to eat like a pizza slice. I definitely want to go back here.

We ended up at Crepeaway after wanting something sweet around 11pm. I got the«Angel» crêpe that has Nutella, Strawberries, and Banana. It was delicious. Service was pretty fast and the staff was really friendly. I enjoyed the atmosphere. The playlist includes music from different genres and in different languages. Definitely a cool hangout spot with a nice vibe. I will be visiting again soon

Note to self: If you visit Crepeaway for a late night snack, don’t expect to be served quickly, even though NOONE is in line in front of you. Yes, that’s right, my friend and I had to wait nearly 5 minutes to be served as one server was texting in the kitchen while the other was texting right outside the door. Classy. Okay, fine, I admit the crepes were pretty good(and surprisingly filling). The prices are okay, though, if you get one of the two crêpe specials it’s not a bad deal when meeting a friend. I got the prosciutto crêpe, which tasted like a fancy ham & cheese sandwich. I see crepes as an occasional treat, so I won’t exactly be running back to this place anytime soon. But please whip some professionalism into your staff by the time I return, okay? Please?

I visited Crepeaway for a snack(aka a large crêpe, but my snacks are often full meals because I eat so much) before my friend’s birthday dinner in the neighborhood recently. I went with the«Mikey» crêpe(they name their crepes after names for people, which is interesting), which was a savory southwestern crêpe which came with: cheese, grilled chicken, jalapenos, black beans, tomatoes, and chipotle sauce. The inside was quite delicious and they definitely give you a big quantity of food(as they should, since the crepes are, on average, $ 8), but the crêpe itself was very bland. It was dry and didn’t have much flavor. Their service was a bit slow. I was one of the only people in there at the time and it took them a good 15 minutes to have it ready. I can’t imagine how busy they must get during the lunch rush, since they’re located smack dab in the middle of Farragut… I’m not sure how they efficiently serve their patrons then. Bottom line — interesting concept and unique crêpe fillings with decent portions, but bland crêpe and slow service. I’d visit again, but not before considering other restaurants in the neighborhood.

I’ve been lucky enough to visit Paris more than once, and my first order of business after getting downtown from the airport and dumping my luggage is to go out in search of a Nutella crêpe. Pretty sure the last time I was there I spent two or three euros and got a soft fluffy crêpe dripping with gooey chocolatey goodness, proving once again that Europe knows cheap satisfying street food. Now, nobody is going to mistake Foggy Bottom for Paris, I grant you. That doesn’t mean I don’t hold my crepes to high standards, though, and these just don’t live up. The fillings aren’t bad, the savory ones tend towards blandness, but the mix of Nutella and cookie bits is an inspired stroke. The fillings aren’t why you go, though, the crêpe is, and theirs are thin and crispy and dry, not at all the light, fluffy pancakes of my European adventures. Not sure if their batter is deficient or they keep the griddles too hot. The staff are usually a pretty glum looking bunch and the place has about as much atmosphere as a rest stop on the Jersey Turnpike, so I’d opt for takeout. For GW students who are drunk or running short on funds, this isn’t a bad option, inexpensive and filling, especially the savory/sweet + a drink combo. Empirically, though, these crepes are subpar, and I think there must be better alternatives in a city this big.

During a surprise visit to DC, my friend highly recommended this place after asking if I liked crepes. I wouldn’t call myself a crêpe connoisseur, but I can tell what makes a good crêpe — fresh ingredients, a good batter that allows for a sturdy but still soft to eat, portability of the crêpe as well. You can tell this place appealed to the younger college crowd and government employees alike. It just had that«go to be seen» vibe without the pretentiousness. Not to mention, damn good crepes. I got the sweet and savory combo — the angel and big papa. Both of which were one of the best crepes I’ve ever had. They were filled to the brim with filling and so big that I saved it to eat for another meal. If ever in the DC area, I’ll be sure to visit again.

I’m a big fan of crepes. What’s better than nutella, strawberries, ice cream and then some? Turns out, they don’t have an option to add ice cream on the crêpe, which bummed me out =P And I didn’t like how it was in a cone– I prefer flat crepes on plates a lot more than the cone ones. Anyway, I ended up ordering a Celine Crêpe, which had nutella, melted marshmallows and strawberries! The first couple of bites were amazinggg but as I reached to the center it just felt really doughy(like the batter wasn’t cooked all the way). However, I do like how their menu has a variety of options. You can always add different items to an existing menu crêpe or you can make your own crêpe. But overall, I’ve had better crepes(gotta have the ice cream dude!).
