Delicious! I had many things on the menu, and can’t decide what’s better. Delish!

To be honest, I didn’t really have high hopes for this truck. I generally like pretty bold flavors, so menu descriptions like«tomato sauce» and«white sauce» aren’t usually my go-to. A colleague insisted that I try the food though, and man, it’s delicious. I had the chicken blin. Very juicy and great flavor. Also, you get a pretty huge amount of food for the $. I got 2 meals and a snack out of my lunch.

One of my favorite food trucks around. The blinis are delicious and filling. My favorite is the beef blini, but the potato mushroom is also excellent. You can mix and match. The borscht is great on a hot day too. I try to visit Bel-Feast anytime it is nearby.

Awesome food. I love the«chebs» which are really called chebureki and can be best described as Russian empanadas, filled with a blend of veal, chicken, and pork. The blini and the pelmeni(dumplings) are delicious as well. Im look forward to trying the rest of the menu!

I have never seen this food truck before and in the middle of the rush they were the only food truck with a crowd! I have had crepes as well as blintzes and the first thing that I noticed was the sweetness from the batter. I would think that you would start with a neutral base and either do a sweet or savory filling/topping. They offer a combo«BLIN» for $ 11 and it includes two Blins and a chopped kale salad with cherry tomatoes, shredded carrots and a raspberry vinaigrette. I am not really fan of kale and sadly enough, that was the best part of the meal. Nice cold and crisp greens with an awesome dressing. I asked for a combination of the two meat offerings and within minutes I was on my way. I compared the menu to what I received and it waswas slightly off. The«Meat» BLIN was listed as containing onions, carrots, brown rice, ground beef and Russian spices. These items may have been in the original cooking process but not clearly seen or tasted in the finished product. The Meat BLIN was not very flavorful and It seems that the spicy tomato sauce was a good idea but pretty much was muted by the other bland components. The Creamy Chicken was not that much better. The breast meat was braised in heavy cream and I think he said oregano and cheese. This was chewy and a bit stringy. The spicy tomato sauce actually tasted better on this item. Overall a good experience but not great. .

I tried this today for the first time and boy was it delicious! I’d never had a blin before, but am a big fan of crepes so this was love at first taste. The person taking orders was very friendly, and I will be back again soon!

I tried Bel-Feast for the first time and it was delicious. The food is very fresh and authentic. I had two of the mushroom, potato, and cheese blins, which came with sour cream for dipping, and a side salad. The blins are hearty and very flavorful. They are wrapped tightly so you can easily dip them. The side salad was light and refreshing, with kale, avocado, carrots, slaw, cranberries, and a raspberry vinaigrette. Fast and friendly service. I waited about 2 – 3 mins for my order which was very reasonable. I will definitely be coming back to try the other menu items.

Really good mushroom borsch and beef blini. The blini is moist and delicious. Will be going here again!

Super hangry, I finally stopped at the food truck that always makes me stop so I can admire how beautiful the artwork on the outside is — and lo and behold, the food is as great as the truck is gorgeous!(Say whaaaaaat.) I got a mixed blin(one meat, one mushroom) with spicy tomato sauce and sour cream(which are served separate, in little containers), along with the kale salad. Total was $ 11. It’s excellent Russian food, and a lot of it — the blins are the size of a small burrito, and very heavy with great fillings. I haven’t had an authentic blin since I was in Russia and these were perfect — more substantial than a crêpe but still delicate. Also — the guy running the truck was great, very personable and funny, and the food came out in a few minutes, freshly made and hot. The only regret is not trying one of their crazy Russian sodas but honestly, I’m coming back for more, so next time!

I spent two years in the Peace Corps in Turkmenistan, and I often miss having access to delicious and reasonably-priced Russian food(returned Peace Corps volunteers are, to judge from other reviews, this excellent food truck’s core demographic). As other reviewers noted, the blini are outstanding — better than anything else I’ve found around here, and as good as any I had abroad. I tried the chicken and the meat varieties, and was extremely happy with both. The meat, particularly, had a very nice mix of spices and a touch of sweetness from the carrots, and I really enjoyed the spicy tomato sauce. I had a very pleasant chat with the proprietor, and I’m looking forward to trying the pelmeni, the mushroom borscht, and, when it comes onto the menu, the cold borscht!

I’m several years returned from a two-year Peace Corps stint in Ukraine, and I’ve been craving the comfort food from my time there. Until now, Russian /Belarusian /Ukrainian food was generally off the menu in DC unless I wanted to cook it myself or drop a paycheck at Russia House or Mari Vanna. Bel-Feast is an inventive and welcome newcomer in the food truck game. I haven’t tried everything they serve, but I’m well on my way. The blini are spot-on perfect: supple, thicker than a crêpe but thinner than a pancake, stuffed full with seasoned ground beef and onion. Try it with the spicy tomato sauce. Fend off the winter with a bowl of red borshch, sweet and hearty, topped with a huge dollop of sour cream and served with a blin on the side. For something more indulgent, get the pelmeni. Small dumplings filled with spiced meat, wrapped up and deep fried like wontons. This was new to me; in my experience, pelmeni were usually boiled. Frying them produces a much crunchier texture and intensifies the flavor of the dough. Quite good. If it’s not too cold out, or you have somewhere warm to enjoy it, try the kvass. This is a sweet, partially-fermented drink made from bread and raisins with a taste and consistency similar to a craft root beer. I’ll probably enjoy it ten times as much when summer comes. Finally, the salad. In Ukraine, a «salad» likely included as much mayonnaise and sausage by weight as vegetables. This salad is one thing I’m glad they changed up; the salad is crisp, juicy, and sweet; it’s healthy in an «I feel good about eating this» way, not a «I guess I should eat this salad» way. I probably won’t update this review as I try the rest of the menu, unless something really awful happens. Don’t just take my word for it, though: if you’re tired of the same rote foodtruck concepts, give Bel-Feast a shot.

I am intimately familiar with Russian cuisine, and the food this truck delivers is very good! The meat blin was not totally what I expected(too much«khmeli-suneli» spices), but it still was very good! The mushroom and mashed potato blin was excellent. The portion is very generous: it comes with two large blins with fillings, and you can mix and match. I ate one blin with meat and was already full! Sweet cheese blinis are also good, not overly sweet and with the right amount of filling. The filling also contains raisins. Cheb’s or chebureki are flat pies with ground meat filling fried on hot oil. I also tried them and they were good also. Also on the menu they had fried pelmeni and borsch.

Great to see some eastern European food trucks arriving, and the art work on this truck is impressive. Had the blinis(mushroom and potato), and it was a very generous portion with sour cream on the side, prepared by a friendly mobile kitchen crew. Food was tasty, and my only criticism is that the amount of food inside the crêpe/blini wrap overwhelms the wrap’s structure and makes eating the blini by hand a bit more challenging than I would like. If Bel-Feast would give me 3 or 4 smaller blini(rather than 2 giant ones) at the same price, I would switch them to five stars in an instant.

Delish! I am picky, but the bliny with ground beef and with mushrooms, as well as chebureky were phenomenal. I was surprised to see a line of non-Russians waiting to get there food in soaking rain. I guess I am not the only one who appreciates great Russian food.

This place is delicious and a nice change from the normal food truck options available for lunch. I liked both the chicken and the meat, but the chicken was particularly good. My coworker had the mushroom potato and said it was awesome. A little bit of a long wait time, but nothing out of hand. I will be looking for it from now on.

I tried this truck when it was parked at Wunder Garten. The truck itself is very pretty, and the cuisine is Russian blin. I had never heard of blin before, and I kept wanting to call it «blintz.» And honestly, that’s not that far off. It’s like meat blintz, or more accurately, a Russian enchilada. The choices on the menu were meat, chicken, or mushroom and potato. Each order comes with two, and they very nice to let you mix and match. An order is $ 10. I would recommend the chicken — it comes with a cheese sauce that’s very tasty! The meat is just meat inside the pancake, and they give you a small thing of a sort of mayo dip. Anyway, the chicken one was good enough to warrant 4 stars, but it took 10 – 12 minutes to get food! There were probably only 3 people in front of me, and it sounded like that was the normal wait time. In the atmosphere of a beer garden, this was OK, but I would be pissed if I had to wait that long on a street corner while people file in and out of Potbelly.

Friendly & quick service, as well as good food await you at Bel-Feast. I tried the meat blin, which was particularly tasty & quite filling. Accompanying this was a small, yet delicious kale & tangy«salsa» salad. I’d readily go back and try something else!

I found this truck while walking in DC next to Verizon Center. Since I do not come much to the city, I decided to give it a try. This food truck is absolutely amazing. It is first time ever I see Russian food truck. Since I am from Russia, I know what the food suppose to taste. I found the crep very delicious, just like ehat my mom used to make, or even better. I also tried Kvas-its sort of like a root beer, was great. Kvas tasted just like back home. I will recommend this food truck to my friends and everyone. Next time I’m in DC i will look for Bel-feast truck.

Attractive, attention grabbing truck? … CHECK! Compelling, unique menu options? … CHECK! Authentic, fresh, made-while-you-wait delicacies? … CHECK! Reasonable prices and reasonable selection? … CHECK! Service with a smile? …DOUBLE-CHECK! Bel-Feast is a new entrant to the DC area food truck rodeo, but has grabbed the bull by the horns and come out blazing. There are Crêpe Trucks already and an Eastern European ttuck or two, but somehow there is definitely room for Bel-Feast’s unique offering of Russian style crepes(blin) and other delicacies. I can personally recommend the Cheb and the Jammie Blin which were both delicious and hot and fresh! Give them a try!
