Tried Chop’t after a recommendation from a friend. The long lines at sweetgreen always made me very weary of going in. I thankfully chose the right time during lunch(1:30 pm) and found myself in line behind only 3 people. Initially, there was nowhere to sit but I was able to find a table. I honestly stood looking at the menu for about 2 minutes and was a little clueless about the ordering process. It didn’t help that the employee behind the food wasn’t talking loudly so I had a hard time figuring out what he was asking. Once I acclimated, I ordered a salad that was ah-mazing! I tried the mavericks salad with chicken tinga. It was filling because of the double protein from the chicken and quinoa, and also very tasty. I was warned that the sweet and smoky chipotle dressing was spicy, but I didn’t find it to be. It had a little kick, but not too much and my palette is sensitive. Ultimately, I did feel like $ 11(price with tax) was a lot for a lunch salad. But I left my bowl empty and my belly was full. I’ll definitely be back to try what else they have. I will definitely come back.

I’m not sure what lunch for me would be like if I didn’t have Chop’t around — probably sad and boring. I eat here several times a week and I love the originality of their thinking, the freshness of the ingredients, the tastiness of everything, the fact that I can pay by just holding up my smartphone to their technology-something-or-other, their super rewards program, the large number of healthier«spa» dressing options, etc. This is about tasty eating, and if you make the right food choices, it’s about keeping super healthy. Minor quibble is of course the huge lunch line of people that snake out the door on a daily basis, but that’s not going to change — I’m not the only one who likes this joint. If I could give Chop’t a sixth star I would do it gladly.

Pick up lunch here at least twice a week. Salads are great and the service is very good. Very nice staff and fast. I can usually get in and out of there in just a few minutes.

This location makes their tex mex ranch sauce SUPER spicey and I’m Mexican! I used to eat that salad regularly when I worked in Metro center and purchased from that location. I now am working in the West End and am stuck using seamless, which picks up from this location. I have tried numerous times but end up throwing away half of my salad because I am breaking a sweat, have a runny, nose, and a burning mouth from the spicey dressing at that point. I have even tried the other dressing(chipotle vinagrette) that goes with the salad but it also is super spicey. Many colleagues have said they don’t order the Santa Fe salad because of the spiceyness. What a shame! It was the most popular one among my colleagues in metro center. Bring the spiceyness down a notch! I so miss my old standby.

Just decided to try this place due to the buzz but i must say its okay. Over priced for salads and the more you add on, the more you pay. Well glad I tried but not again

This is the first Chop’t I’ve ever visited and I had a great experience! I went around 6PM for dinner and we were basically the only ones there. I did a custom salad, and yes it was a little overpriced, especially for a salad, but that wasn’t unpredictable in DC. The salad was HUGE so it was well worth the price and actually kept me full! The person who served me and chopped my salad was very nice — let me know when certain toppings were extra, asked if my salad was chopped enough, and made sure I got the right amount of dressing. For the salad itself, there was nothing particularly stand out, which is why I give Chop’t a 4. It’s a great place and does great work, but to me it’s nothing spectacular. Just a great place to go when I’m really craving salad! I definitely had a great experience at this Chop’t and plan to return!

Salads are delish and so are their desert trays. The staff is very helpful as I’m usually ordering catering trays from them every so often for work functions. They always come through for me.

I can’t tell if the folks in here were treating me like an alien because I had some weird goop on my face or what was going on. Maybe it was because I stood staring at the menu for a few minutes before I oriented toward the counter where I thought I was to order. Two people back there, one acknowledged me, and then said something in another language to the other dude, who seemed to be in his own zombie-like state. Eventually she took my order and I stood vacantly while the other guy made the salad. Maybe I was supposed to pay and then come back to pick it up? No instructions to be found, and they certainly weren’t helping me out with pro tips. Once the salad was done I took it over to the cashier and paid — plus a soda. The saving grace of this place for me was that they had diet artisinal cream soda. Places with specialty sodas that don’t offer a sugar free version piss me off to no end, so this was a fantastic surprise. Unfortunately for me, my salad was only okay. I am certain I just ordered something no one would ever eat by choice due to some strange combination of changing out the dressing and toppings. They had tons of different pre-organized selections so I’m amazed at how bad of a job I did. If you want a salad, and enjoy being treated as though you appear to be on some kind of depressants, this is the perfect choice!

Great, proactive service today! I was moaning about how Chop’t is doing away with the points card system in favor of apps(which I can’t currently get), and the Chopt employee I was speaking to did something unexpectedly nice!

This is the worst Chopt in the world. 1) It’s so loud. If there is even one other salad being made when the cashier is asking me a question, I have no clue what they’re saying. Similarly, they can’t hear me when ordering. 2) If you get a salad at other Chopt locations, they automatically give you that little piece of bread. Not so here. They don’t even tell you it’s an option and you have to know and then know where to ask for it. Then, it takes a couple of minutes. 3) Screw them for getting rid of the loyalty card. I was like one salad away. And no, I’m not going to connect my credit or debit card to their app. I like to use different cards depending on different circumstances. It’s rude for them to have taken away the loyalty card. Even with notice, I was really close to a free salad. 4) I just spent $ 13 for a salad. That’s insane. The salads are good which is why it is two stars instead of one.

Great lunch salad place. Wish they did a smaller option though, the portion size is a too big even for a salad.

This is rating their catering, which is solely related to customer service. O-M-G. I mean, I could literally say it over… and over… and over. I mean, I don’t even know what else could have gone wrong. 1. they forgot half our order; 2. the delivery man dropped our dessert tray and still wanted to serve it to us without bringing back a replacement; 3. we asked for a «few» veggie sandwich options, which Chop’t took as «let’s serve a party of 25 people ALL veggie sandwiches.» UM what? Yeah, not a single protein in any of the sandwiches we received. Then, to get our order fixed, we had to wait almost another hour to receive the remaining part of our order – awesome. I wish I could rate 0 stars because Chop’t, literally, deserves 0 stars because the service was THAT bad. As much as I do enjoy the Mexican Caesar, this experience stung so badly that I don’t know if I can give them my business ever again.

Interesting take on salads. A little overpriced for lettuce? Yeah, I guess so. But delcious? Yep. Oh, the dilemmas! So what makes Chop’t different from getting your average fast food joint or restaurant? Let’s just say they specialize on salads and take it in a new perspective on how it can become a meal.(Because to me, salad just doesn’t cut it for me) But this was a new experience as I thought a salad is just a salad and nothing could change. Boy, was I surprised. Now, when you go in here they’ll ask you exactly what you want to eat. And if you’re a salad expert, customize it as much as you want and they’ll serve it! Of course, I wasn’t a salad expert so I just went with whatever they gave me. I ordered the Cop’t Po’Boy with the recommended Tex-Mex ranch. It came with romaine lettuce, but I believe that’s definitely changeable. The first person puts in the lettuce, the second chops up the lettuce and finishes with what you want, salad dressing and so on. One thing to note is to follow your salad! There’s going to be usually a long line of employees trying to make your perfect salad, but it’s going to be tossed around to different people so I would highly suggest not to worry about skipping someone in the line if you see your salad disappearing down further in the line. Anyways, if I’m ever back in town… I will definitely come here if I am craving for a salad.(Because I just can’t stop thinking the way they chop it is so interesting!)

Let’s see — I’ve ordered food from Chop’t maybe 10 times since my last review, only because it’s the only salad place that delivers to my new office location. The salad still isn’t very special but that isn’t the problem anymore from my perspective, aka the person who wants a salad and doesn’t have time to go grab one. Rather, it’s that literally EVERYSINGLETIME I order from Chop’t the order is completely wrong, missing something, delivered 2 hours after I order, or the driver doesn’t have change. Today, I ordered at 11:45 and was promised delivery within the hour. at 1:30, I was sitting in a meeting, starving, when I finally got the call that the driver was outside. Wtf? I don’t understand why this place can’t get it together. The salads are not hard to make and the delivery is within a very close radius of the location itself.

Wow, the employees work fast here during lunch time! There were a million customers and a whole assembly line of employees, putting together salads very quickly and(in my experience and my friend’s), accurately. I like that there’s tofu and so much other vegan yumminess available.

Yes the salads are good, but why does it have to be so expensive? More than $ 10 for a salad without any special ingredients. I personally think the process can be streamlined with just one person making your salad instead of having multiple people crafting your meal. I was disappointed that you dont get anything more than a thin slice of pita bread, untoasted with your salad. I won’t be returning.

Good lunch spot. Can be a little pricey though if you start adding stuff. If you want to keep your salad healthy ask for the spa version of the salad dressing. The line is sometimes long, but it moves pretty fast.

Love Chop’t. Hate the price. Good googly moogly: Almost $ 30 for two salads? Really, son?! I get that your toppings are fresh and that you make everything right on the spot in front of me and to my specific tastes, however — it’s just veggies, man! Ok — and shrimp… just you didn’t even give me that much and I paid extra for it. Nonetheless, I keep coming back. Why? Because while you are expensive, you are indeed good for me, and I am trying to be good. Just cut a sista a break and email some coupons, will ya? Jeez! I could get a sit-down dinner for what you are charging me!

My normal Chop’t is the one in Metro Center, but I found myself around this one and craving it the other day, so went here instead! I love love LOVE chop’t! Salad isn’t usually something that excites me but I think their Palm Beach Shrimp salad is AMAZING. I love that the ingredients are chopped up so finely that every time you plunge your fork in their you aren’t sure what you are going to get. In fact, because of Chop’t, I’ve grown to hate it when I order a salad somewhere and the ingredients aren’t mixed at all and just separated into piles. Who would want that?! This is even more crowded than my Metro Center’s, with line waay out the door before 12, and I think the layout in this one is not as good — the paying line and the line waiting to get the salads chopped up kind of mush into each other and it is confusing. I’ve never had anything here but the Palm Beach Shrimp. if you like shrimp and avocado, GET that, you won’t be disappointed. Yes, it is expensive, but at least for me, the salad is so big that I can have a satisfying lunch and then have plenty leftover for a nice afternoon snack or take it home as part of dinner. And did I mention it tastes incredible and is chopped to perfection? This is the BEST salad in the world!
