I thought this place might offer something Subway did not and I was correct — higher price, worse bread and slower service. A subpar BLT sub came on a tasteless, stale roll with iceberg lettuce and soggy tomato, and took 10 minutes to make with 3 people on the sandwich bar. The kicker was the sticker on the packaging touting lightning fast service. Two regular sub(standard) subs and one medium fountain drink ran $ 16. Even with a lot of offices nearby, I can’t believe this place will stay in business, and it doesn’t deserve to.

I placed a deliver order for 4 subs and chips @1150am to be delivered for a lunch meeting, and told me about 20 minutes. We got a call back after placing the phone order to re-do or confirm the order and then it wasn’t until 1:20pm when the deliver showed up. When they finally got here, they forgot the chips and had to to all way back to retrieve them. I started to eat my sandwich after the meeting and the chips came back 20 minutes later. Terrible experience with no apologies. Not sure if that lunch was worth the $ 50.00 :(

I never give one ratings… ever…I almost did this time. The pre sandwich theme is understandable but the taste or lack thereof is not. The bread tasted like cardboard or was maybe just old but this is a new location so that is not possible. I was extremely disappointed and have had tastier sandwiches at school lunch in grade school. The worse part was the price point. I can get a foot long for $ 5 but I have to have double for less? You have to know the market you are in and this isnt working. Long story short the only reason I didnt give a 1 rating was because I thought the prepackaged chips were good.

This place is kind of a mystery for me, maybe, because the franchise started in the mid west. They have no hot subs, for example, steak and cheese or meatball. It isn’t really a deli either. They have subs called«slims» but they seem like they are just regular subs. There seems to be a lot of inside or self deprecating jokes, for example, it is called«gourmet subs», but than they say in their company materials that they are not gourmet. I don’t want to get overly analytical about my ham and cheese sub. The sub prices are reasonable, but everything else is pricey, for example, a bag of chips is $ 2. I think D’Angelo is much better and offers significantly more options. For the money, Carl’s and Dominic’s is MUCH better. It is better than Subway, but that isn’t much competition.

I made the mistake of going to the new Jimmy John’s in Waltham today. It’s pretty hard to screw up a turkey sub sandwich. Technically they didn’t screw it up. They made exactly what I ordered but the bread was near stale and the requested veggies were extremely sparse. They don’t even have spicy mustard and can only provide packets of yellow mustard rather than put it directly on the sandwich. For a sandwich shop to have such a limited menu, you would think they should excel at what they do offer. Save your money and go to any Subway. You’re better off.

I work ½ mile from here so I’ve been a few times already. Most people don’t know its open yet, so there hasn’t been any mob scenes. I just ordered online today and it was quick and easy. Sandwich was waiting for me upon my arrival 8 mins later. Quality of ingredients puts Subway to shame. My only complaint is the price of the extras. I got an 8″ sub only one day and it was just under $ 7 with tax(all the 8″ subs are $ 6.25). Great price! A few days later I got an 8″ sub(no add-ons), small drink, and chips and it was just under $ 12. Apparently, they don’t have a «combo» offering like Subway does. Also, I was surprised they don’t offer American cheese… just Provolone. I like Provolone, but every now and then I prefer American on my sub. Oh well, I’m sure limiting the filling options helps keep their price points down.

This is a better, more expensive, more hip Subway type place. They have a really good tuna salad for a fast food place. Everyone was extremely friendly and this place was clean as a whistle.

Fast, friendly, and much better tasting than Subway. As a former midwesterner, I’m glad they’re finally in Boston.

Finally! Jimmy johns made it to the east! Used to live out west and we missed it so much! The service was great. Definitely come in and try it out! The Italian night club is my fave with the hot peppers. Try it out!
