Burger was excellent. I used a BOGO burger coupon. Hoping there’s more that’ll come in the mail. Place was packed. I wonder if the place will still be packed if no one used the same coupon that I used.

We love this place! Visited again last night. Natalie was great and really sweet to our five year old son. Busy night but worth the wait! Lots of options and very family friendly. Fries are great too as are beer selections. I think the WC location is my fav of the ones I’ve tried. Service super friendly and fast-wife and son have different allergy issues and staff were very accommodating. Great experience and excellent burgers!

Great burgers, great fries and great drinks! The only thing that could have been better was our apps came out after my husbands burger came out first. Otherwise it would have been perfect!

Expensive for a burger — but when you get the power to customize just about every aspect about it(and SO many different options…), it’s a bit justified, I think. You pay by the weight class of your patty and you will pay for any additional sauces and extra cheese or any gourmet toppings(not regular). If you choose to have it over a salad instead of a bun, it also costs extra. Personally, I think thats kind of annoying because I know of other places where its a free sub. Also, pretzel bun costs fifty cents extra. Fries as a side come at an additional $ 3. The garlic parmesan fries are not an option for this $ 3 side, but they will bring out some dipping sauce for you to dip your regular fries if you ask. On a related note, the garlic parmesan fries are bomb af so I recommend you order a plate to share with the table. Beef patties are always pretty decent — I’ve never had any complaints. They’ll cook it to your preferred level of doneness(I usually get medium well). They also offer turkey burgers, grilled chicken breasts, and veggie patties. I always mean to try the other options, I just never end up ordering it. I personally love the garlic aioli sauce because it goes with just about everything. However there is a whole huge list to choose from. Additionally, I love their selection of cheese. I usually opt for the gruyère or smoked gouda. This location recently switched their menu so now instead of ordering just 4 toppings, its unlimited(though when you order more than 4, I’ve noticed they«forget» a topping. The quotes are only there because so far this has happened to me 2⁄2 times. Though, I’m planning on going again soon, so let’s see if theyre 3 for 3). They sell alcoholic milk shakes too. Oh, and regular milk shakes if you’re not in the mood to booze. ;) Street parking available and there is a garage(though, not sure if thats reserved for someone or not). Service is always friendly, decently attentive but not overbearing.

My favorite place for lunch! the service is great and the rewards card is amazing. our office eats here all the time. Not a bad thing on the menu… except I have never had one of their burgers :-) so many other great things to order instead!

This was a cool place. The build your own burger had so many options it was hard to choose, and the patty was cooked exactly the way we ordered it. We had the Hippie Salad which was deliciously fresh with plenty of fresh goat cheese, and large enough for 2 to share. We also had a banana split shake which was one of the best shakes we have ever had — get one! The Honey Dijon Chicken was good but a little dry, and for the price they are entirely too stingy with the sauces. It is very loud inside with the concrete floors and high ceilings, but outside has heaters, so if you like it a little more peaceful maybe outside is better. The staff was GREAT! From the very friendly(and ever in motion) manager on the front door, to our very sweet and efficient server, Holly June. Holly was great at the menu, checked in on us regularly, and even gave me water in a to-go cup when I asked for water after our meals. Holly anticipated my need and satisfied it before I asked. A perfect server.

Awesome burgers with a dizzying amount options. You can get pretty much anything you want on a burger here. The only downside is that it’s a relatively small place for its popularity so sometimes you’re going to wait for a table because all the custom orders means a slightly longer turn-around time. The fries and shakes are also very good.

Great food and great service. We go there every few months and love it. A little loud but good. Owner or manager offered my wife and I a complimentary beverage and that’s great service. Super nice guy.

I’ll start by saying that I’ve eaten here many times, but it’s been over a year. I usually have great food here, and a good experience. This last visit left me extremely disappointed! First of all, as we waited for an open table(20 minutes on Saturday is not bad) I couldn’t help but notice that the Host was simply leaning on the host stand while the floor all around him was disgusting. Food and debris littered the floor! Grab a sweeper or a broom; don’t just lean there looking bored. The place had been slightly remodeled, moving the entrance from the middle, to the side of the establishment. I assumed that it was to create a better flow, but when we were sat at our table, I realized that it was simply to smash as many tables in the space as possible. The waitress had to squeeze between our table and the one next to us. In fact, her butt was touching the table next to us. It is uncomfortable for the waitress and the patrons at the other table. We ordered our food by choosing the build-your-own burger option. You literally choose everything that goes on your burger or bowl. In my experiences at this burger place and many others, if you like medium-rare, order medium. So, the waitress says that«medium-well will be cooked with a little pink in the middle;» I know that this is not actually medium-well, but I like mine medium so I ordered medium-well. My burger was cooked well-done! Destroying the flavor of the quality beef they use! I ordered onions, cucumbers, sprouts, and habanero aioli. All the cucumbers were stacked on one side of the burger, the onions were at least a quarter inch thick, the amount of sprouts was so minimal that is was a joke, and the habanero aioli had zero spice. The only good part of my meal was the beer… Altamont Beer Works Hella Hoppy! The other members of my party had their orders messed up also. One person chose onions for their burger and wrote on the order form Light Onion, they received just as much onion as I did…¼″ thick. Another friend of mine ordered a vegetarian burger bowl, choosing all the ingredients. Quinoa was not one of her choices, yet there it was in the bowl. Now, she said it still tasted good but bottom line is… she didn’t choose that ingredient. The waitress obviously confirm that the order was created correctly, she just delivered it. I will probably not go back here again. If a cook can’t follow hand-written instructions, and the wait staff can’t confirm the order before delivering the food, then they don’t deserve my patronage! They only get the TWOSTARS because the beer selection was good, and the other members of my party said theirs tasted good.

I was in the Walnut Creek area one day on business, and I wanted some lunch. I’d always heard of this«Counter» burger place as a great place to have a burger. Wow, I didn’t know it was so upscale looking and feeling. It did have a sort of casual look, where I thought I was gonna stand in line and give my order and they’d call my mane when it was ready. No, this is full sit down and table service restaurant. I’m standing around waiting for someone to seat me, and then finally some girl comes along and seats me. I’m looking over the menu and thinking, these prices are a little high for a fast casual place like this… or is this just Walnut Creek? Well, OK, I’m here anyways, so I get the Counter Burger, which has sharp provolone, crispy onion strings, something called lettuce blend, sautée mushrooms, tomatoes, sun-dried tomato on a brioche bun. It comes with either a 1⁄3 lb patty and a ½ lb patty. Without thinking, I go for the ½ pounder, cause I’m just that way, but I didn’t think that the little bit bigger patty was $ 3.00 bucks more, to make a $ 14.50 mushroom cheeseburger, and that didn’t even include fries! Fries were $ 3.00 more and then adding a soft drink for $ 2.75 … damn … plus tax I’m out $ 22.00 bucks for a burger lunch… and no alcohol! Speaking of which, they do have a full bar here if you like to indulge. It’s $ 6.00 for a draft beer, so if I just had a burger, fries and a beer, with tax and tip, shit I’m out about $ 30.00! That’s a bit much I have to say for a casual burger, fries and 1 beer lunch. OK, let’s see if this burger is worth the price. I put my order in and I’m kind just sitting around food finally arrives. Well, yes, it is a good looking burger and a good amount of fries. My first bite in and Hmmm, well, I can see the meat was cooked well, all brown and not medium like I ordered, but WTF, I don’t have time to wait around anymore … people got shit to do ya know? For these prices I’d expect perfection all around. The burger was fine and tasted OK… nothing to really get excited over, and the fries were, well, fries. It was a fine edible lunch, but no where near worth the prices being charged and the service was lacking as the server didn’t even return after I got my food and then I finally get the check. This what I thought was going to be a quick casual burger lunch ended up a little over 1 hr and with a 15% tip, a $ 25.00 lunch for one! The food wasn’t knock my socks off and make my feet do a happy dance under the table. NO, it was just making me feel like ripped off for what I got. I just don’t see the value of coming here, I can get better food for less at my fave brew pub!

I love the counter because you can’t create your own burger. It’s a cool option when you want some items you wouldn’t normally get. Like fried pickles! Or spicy relish. Yum. The burgers are pretty big here but you can order different size meats. They have the ahi, veggie, turkey and chicken option if you don’t want beef. The beef has a ton of flavor, very juicy and even though I order medium well w/o pink it still has a ton of flavor. Lots of cheeses to choose from and if you check in on Unilocal you can upgrade your topping option. Like bacon or avocado! Sides are delish– order the Siracha fries. You won’t be disappointed. Service was good, not great but she did the job. The restaurant was clean. Not too busy but kind of slow. If we are in the area we will probably come back.

We love this Burger place. I think the food is super fresh, really delicious, served hot, crisp, and almost always exactly how it is described and promised! I discovered the grilled vegi skewers tonight! Incredible find! You get 4 long ones for $ 5! Great deal! Also, the Turkey burger is delicious. I had their in house made vegan vegi burger tonight for the first time and it was very good too! I had it as a salad bowl with quinoa, lettuce, spinach, kale, and a bunch of other vegis. I had to take a good third home because I couldn’t finish it! The fries and milkshakes are out of this world. The meat is very, very good too. Drawbacks? It’s a bit pricey and sometimes the wait is long for both the table and the food. Did I say that the service is very good too? The people who work there are super nice, but they can only turn over tables as fast as people can eat and as fast as the kitchen can cook a proper and delicious meal, so if you’re in a hurry go either don’t go, or go at off hours!

So my family took me here for a birthday lunch. I have never been here before so I wasn’t sure what to expect. I was pleasantly surprised at the high quality of hormone free meat and burger/salad selections they had available. Our waiter Jordan was absolutely wonderful. He was very attentive and personable. It was a very busy Sunday, so I am surprised at the level of service we received. He was able to accommodate all of our requests,(asked for them to put the playoff games on the tv near me). The general manager was wonderful as well! I am very happy with the overall experience we had here and we will be eating here in the future!

Order: basic 1⁄3 lb. cheeseburger w/side salad and soda water Pros: burger was legitimately delicious, cooked well and all ingredients solid, service at the bar was super friendly and they didn’t charge for the soda water w/lime Cons: expensive($ 10 for a basic burger), side salad was $ 3 and was just a small pile of greens with a tomato slice on top, although dressing was good. Not sure if I’ll return. The burger was really good, but if I want to explore the rest of the menu I’m looking at $ 10 – 20 just for a burger w/o sides, tip, or tax.

First time here today. I don’t know how I haven’t been here before. Went with my brother and mom. Brother has been here before so I’m a bit miffed at him that he hasn’t told me to go here. I ordered the special which is like a braised beef burger with red onions and pepercinis(I probably spelled that wrong), two of my favorite condiments. I also got their fries and a side of horseradish aioli which was amazing. I love horseradish. My brother got a BYOB with condiments I find questionable but he loved it. Nice selection of beer and spirits. Bartender and hosts are super nice and the GM(I’m sorry I forgot your name) were all fantastic. I will be back. More than my weight needs.

Ok this was to be a quick filler and back home. My husband and I ordered«Stacked» BLTs, one teen ordered a burger and the other grilled cheese with special cheeses. EZ enough. Our app of 50⁄50 was over cooked. When our main dish came out, it was fine for the burger, ok for grilled cheese and the«stacked BLT was three small pieces of bacon that barely made it to the other side of the sandwich! It was 12⁄30 @ 3p. Not sure why there was such a change in quality of product. Service was fine. Black folks please come. It’s strange being the only black folks in the place again. Shakes very good. They serve adult shakes as well with big screens of the game. Didn’t get a photo. I think I was shocked of what they considered a BLT. Stick to the burgers and you will not be disappointed.

I’m surprised this restaurant doesn’t have 5 stars honestly. The service is great and quick and the food is amazing! I had Sriracha fries with a Caprese salad and I can’t remember the burger I ordered but it all came within a timely fashion and tasted amazing! The ambience is very casual and it’s a perfect place to go with friends and/or family. The biggest plus for me, however, were the many vegetarian options. And if nothing on the menu is what you want, you can always create your own burger. I highly recommend the counter!

NOt JUSTANOTHERBURGERPLACE, GOURMETANDMYNEWFAVORITEBURGERSPOT! Ambiance is trebdy, clean, kid & adult friendly! Perfect balance! We were greeted immediately and our son given a Wix Stix toy to keep him occupied. We notified the host that we were in a rush, he notified our server(JESSICA) who was extremely accommodating to that, on her feet, swift in getting the orders in and out and meeting all of our other assorted needs(Early check, boxes, drinks, etc…) The manager was polite when I introduced myself and wanted to compliment the restaurant, too. He shook my hand and took the time to engage me. Lets get to the good stuff, the FOOD! The Menu is amazing, I HAVE to try everything. The build your own burger has probably more than 100 options, varieties and sections for meats, toppings, sauces, etc… I love it! They also have signature burgers that sound divine, but I went ahead and built my own — It’s fun! They offer Wine, Beer & Spirits & Seasonal Items! #LoveIt!!! The seasonal option I chose was the fig balsamic crossing — BURSTING with flavor!!! Amazing balance of sweet salty and sour, crossing did not get soggy from the spread, but also wasn’t rock hard toasted to a crisp. It was perfect! Crostinis are easy to screw up and they did a fantastic job of preparing theirs, I only wish it had more feta cheese. It did say it came with feta and I only found 2 pieces on the plate. Other than that small detail(Which can certainly make or break a dish), it was delightful without it. It would have been mind blowing with it! Still, I ate the entire thing. I LOVE that the burgers are hormone and anti-biotic free beef! I also noted that they use Natural turkey fo the turkey burger and a lot of items(such as the beef chili and veggie burger, are made in house!). I can’t wait to try the loaded spuds or chili cheese fries but today I went with the Half & Half order of the sweet potato/shoestring fries. Awesome that they offer the ½ 1⁄2 most places don’t, then I have to order two separate dishes for my son and I –Bummer! Variety is the spice of life and The Counter got that right with these options! ITIS served with a horseradish mayonnaise(as I was told by server), I usually detest mayo bc it is pure fat, but I could not resist this dip! It was savory and addicting and I wanted more and more… Speaking of sauces, I also tried the Thai Peanut(As you may know I am a thai food connessiure — GOOD sauce, a bit acidic, could use a very tiny atomic dash of spice and more peanut, but still, Good), I tried the roasted tomatoe sauce(a bit runny, could use a thickener and a few more roasted tomatoes in it), lastly we tried the BBQ(Loved it! NOT too tangy, not to savory, not too sweet, perfect balance) I cannot wait to go try the other sauces, dishes and drinks to review them! I am bummed I learned that they let go the server Kailen, he has a great energy… but as I said, our server did a good job, with a smile.(I’m sure that can be a chore with rushing customers who ask for a lot of things) She brought everything we asked for without error, aside from the feta, but I believe that was probably the chef’s responsibility. I enjoyed the house cabernet, too. Go here. You won’t regret it, the parking is free and wasn’t crowded. plus I noticed they have amazing happy hour specials and broadcast sports at the bar! #Winning

We only stopped in for a to-go order, but I would definitely come back for the sit-in experience. We used their online ordering form, which allows you to create literally any burger under the sun — artichoke hearts and pepperocinis, red bell peppers and grilled pineapple, you name it. My bf decided to name *all* of it, with more than 10 toppings on his cheeseburger. I know there was pineapple and a hard-boiled egg. I didn’t look too closely after that point. They also have grilled chicken breasts, turkey burgers, and veggie options if you’re not feeling beef. Prices are on par with most other burger restaurants in the area — ~$ 10/$ 12. If you stretch your value on the toppings, it’s a pretty good deal for a night out. Still no Fuddrucker’s, but I’m willing to come back and challenge that!

They had me at freshly made burgers and chicken breasts. Seriously, I’m a burger and chicken salad lover and will eat any and all. I love that I can order double chicken and build my own salad masterpiece. They have a lot of yummy toppings and a good selection of dressings. My daughter’s hamburger was delicious and I could tell the meat was fresh. The fries were perfectly salty and the Oreo milkshake wasn’t too shabby either. The service was pleasant and we left full and happy. One last important side note: they have a full bar! Just in case the mood strikes…

Friendliest staff in Walnut Creek. I think I’ve stumbled into the most unpretentious place in Walnut Creek. Been here twice… each time the staff was amazing. Milkshakes are legit. Burgers are to die for. Thank god this place will ask you how you want your burger prepared and ACTUALLY cooks it the right way. Thanks for putting everything on the side!!! Quinoa side salad is really good and healthy. The lemon dressing is bland so I would ask for a different one on the side. Build you own burger. No surprises and an excellently prepared burger everytime. Sweet potato fries are good. Other fries, standard.
